Cannot Publish Slideshow locally

This is probably page 1 stuff on iWeb but I am unable to get the Slideshow function to work.
I've tried to keep things as simple as possible. I create a new site in iWeb using the Photo page template. I then Publish this to local folder on my Mac.
When I launch this published site into Safari I can click on the thumbnails and get the photos in a separate window.
Clicking on slideshow just launches the first image as though I'd clicked on the first thumbnail.
I seem to get all the folders published I would expect, including the Slideshow_assets folder.
Apologies if this is really old ground but a quick search didn't help.

I just tried the codemanic demo on that link and the slideshow does not automatically move from photo to photo, you have to do it manually.
Having downloaded the replacement Slideshow_assets file I also have the same problem locally on my iMac. Clicking on start slideshow does nothing more than display the first photo i.e. no dynamic slideshow begins.
Any thoughts?

  • CP File Cannot Publish EXE Locally

    Hello,
    I'm working with a large (70 slide) presentation in Captivate 3 and it no longer allows me to publish it as a standalone Windows executable.  The "select Flash version" select and "Publish" button are greyed out.  Publishing to SWF works fine, and I have the latest Flash Player installed.  Stranger still, I CAN publish an EXE if I use the FTP option.  So I've been exporting an exe to my FTP server, then downloading it back onto my computer.
    It is specifically a problem with this CP file; I can publish other projects without issue.  If I copy all my slides and paste them into a new project, it resolves the problem but I lose all of my navigation data (all buttons lose their "jump to" target and revert to "continue", keyboard shortcuts for 508 compliance are lost).
    The workaround of publishing to FTP will let me keep my deadline, but I'd rather not leave the project file in this broken state.  Any way to restore desktop exe publishing without redoing all my navigation?

    Nevermind, I wrote my own launcher in Flash.  At least this way it doesn't take forever to load from CD, and I don't have to re-publish the exe and app files every time.
    It still would be nice if the publishing options within Captivate were a little more robust (read: not terrible).

  • Publish iCal Local Account Calendar on OS X Server

    I'd like to publish my iCal calendar (iCal>Calendar>Publish...>Publish on: A private server) on my OS X Server 10.6.7 ().
    Whenever I attempt to do this using my local account on tthe server, I get the error:
    http://username@domain_name/Home.ics is not a location that supports this request.
    I've tried all the obvious stuff: turning off the firewall, sanity checking the iCal service authentication settings, everything obvious. I believe that this is an authentication issue for local accounts on OS X Server. Because the server is set up as a standalone (i.e., no network accounts, all local accounts), Open Directory is turned off, and there's no Kerberos authentication that I'm aware of.
    Would someone please tell me how how to publish iCal calendars of local accounts on OS X Server?

    According to iCal Server Administration, OS X Server requires an Open Directory account, so you cannot publish your local account's iCal calendar.
    You can, however, use iCal itself and a modification of the OS X Hint "Publish iCal calendars with local WebDAV server" to publish local account calendars.
    0. Server Admin>Web>Sites Turn on the Web with an enabled host name. Make sure that WebDAV is enabled under Server Admin>Web>Sites>Options. Enable SSL with your server's certificate under Server Admin>Web>Sites>Security to ensure that your personal calendar information is SSL encrypted over the web.
    1. Append this directive to the end of the file /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf:
    Include /private/etc/apache2/other/*.conf
    and make sure that there's no conf file in ./other that you may not wish to load, such as httpd-userdir.conf. Move these to *.conf.original or some such if necessary.
    2. Create the file /private/etc/apache2/other/httpd-webdav.conf with the contents:
    # WebDAV configureation for Publishing local account iCal calendars
    #  Based in part on Mac OS X Hint "iPublish iCal calendars with local WebDAV server Apps"
    # http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20020912065811863
    # copied from /etc/apache2/sites/0000_any_443_myserver.conf
    # which is automatically generated by Server Admin>Web
    # No need to replicate these directives here, so comment out
    #<IfModule mod_dav.c>
    #       DAVLockDB "/var/run/davlocks/.davlock100"
    #       DAVMinTimeout 600
    #</IfModule>
    <IfModule mod_dav.c>
      <Directory "/Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav">
        DAV On
        AuthType Digest
        AuthName 'WebDAV'
        AuthDigestFile /private/etc/apache2/httpd/.htdigest
        AuthGroupFile /dev/null
    #    <LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS>
          require valid-user
    #    </LimitExcept>
      </Directory>
    </IfModule>
    3. Create the apache htdigest authentication file:
    $ mkdir /private/etc/apache2/httpd
    $ chmod 0755 /private/etc/apache2/httpd
    $ touch /private/etc/apache2/httpd/.htdigest
    $ chmod 0644 /private/etc/apache2/httpd/.htdigest
    $ htdigest /private/etc/apache2/httpd/.htdigest WebDAV username
    Adding password for username in realm WebDAV.
    New password: md5 hashed password
    Re-type new password: md5 hashed password
    4. Create the WebDAV directory:
    $ mkdir /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav
    $ chown www:www /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav
    $ chmod 0755 /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav
    $ mkdir /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav/iCal
    $ chown www:www /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav/iCal
    $ chmod 0755 /Library/WebServer/Documents/webdav/iCal
    and sanity check that the OS X Server davlocks directory /var/run/davlocks exists [it should!] and has www:www ownership with permissions 755 [it should!].
    5. Sanity check your apache config files:
    $ apachectl -t
    should yield "Syntax OK". Then Server Admin>Web>Stop and Start to restart your web server with the new configuration.
    5. Under your local account on OS X Server, iCal>Calendar>Publish... Publish on a private server with the URL:
    https://osxserver/webdav/iCal
    using OS X Server's local account username/password. Success will be reported with a URL of your calendar on the server.
    6. Under another client account from which you wish to subscript to your OS X Server local account's Calender, iCal>Calender>Subscribe... Enter the URL on OS X Server. You will be prompted for the htdigest name/password pair you created above -- enter this, not the username/password of your local account on OS X Server. Even though you should be protecting this channel with SSL and md5, don't reuse your username/password to access the WebDAV directory you created. You will now be subscribed to your local account's iCal Calendar residing on OS X Server.

  • Cannot publish 1 page in CS4. Other pages including index.html ok. Error message results.

    After many months of no difficulty, I suddenly cannot publish changes to one of my pages (all others work) without getting the error message 'Another instance of Contribute is doing a workflow operation. Do you want to break the workflow and continue.....?' Whether I say yes or no and follow the prompts, it doesn't work. One way lets me exit, the other locks up my computer and I have to 'end task' to get control back. I hoped that the answer to the 'cannot publish index page' thread would help, but I didn't understand because most of this stuff is over my head. The only thing unusual I can dectect is the page name has an # sign after html as in 'name.html#tuition.' The word tuition refers to a pointer on the page. When I switch to edit mode, an asteric * appears after 'html' on the page name. I do not see that on any other page when I edit. I have CS4 version 5. Can anyone help? I don't know how many people there are in India, but I talked to half of them in a 2.5 hour 'session' in which I was transferred in a least 3 complete loops to every department and passing 'go' 3 times before some techie finally said I should email my question in and will get a reply within 3 days. Yeah, right. Worst tech support experience I have had in 10 years.

    Hi,
         Can you try deleting the Preferences and the Contribute's User Configuration folder. You will lose your website connections, you can recreate them again after relaunching Contribute.
    If you have installed Contribute in Mac, go to <Username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder and delete Contribute CS4 folder there. Also, go to <Username>/Library/Preferences/ folder and delete the 'Adobe Contribute 5 Preferences' file.
    If you have installed Contribute in Windows XP, the Contribute's Configuration folder will be in C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\. Delete the Contribute CS4 folder there. To clear the registry for Contribute, type 'regedit' in the Run window.(Click Start, and click Run, and then type 'regedit' in the text field.) Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then Software, then Adobe, then Contribute CS4. Click Delete button. Close the Registry Editor window.
    The <username>, I have mentioned above is the name with which you will have logged into the machine.
    Now, Relaunch Contribute and connect to your website and try editing the web pages from your website. Can you try this?

  • Cannot publish to web gallery

    I have a dotmac account and the newest iPhoto '08 fully updated
    I cannot publish using web gallery
    whenever I try to, I get this error message
    "An error occurred while publishing the album "albumname." this is not a valid location for this request.
    my dotmac account is programmed into my computer and working just fine in every other way. what's going on here?
    help! thank you

    David:
    How long has this gone on? Have you been able to publish successfully previously? Apple has been having problems with their servers for the last several days. My publishing efforts from iWeb and iPhoto have been sporadic, good one moment and bad a short time later only to get good again. Be sure to post your problem to the .Mac and iPhoto feedback sites:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/mac/tm.html
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Cannot publish comments to a shared review

    I created a shared review from a PDF located on a shared network drive. The storage location for the shared review is on ANOTHER shared network drive (Drive 2). According to our IT department, all members of the shared review have write access to Drive 2; however, some members CANNOT publish their comments to Drive 2. On the other hand, some CAN publish comments.
    Upon opening the PDF on Drive 2, one user gets the following message: Adobe cannot connect to the Review Server: Drive 2. If he clicks Keep Tryping, the PDF opens. He then saves it to HIS computer, adds a comment, and clicks Publish Comments. He gets the message: Could not publish comments. Acrobat cannot access the network. IT cannot figure out why he cannot publish his comments.
    Moreover, if he SAVES the PDF to the location in Drive 2, closes the PDF, and opens it again, his comments are there, but NOT comments published by others. AND when I open my local copy of the review, I cannot see his comments, only the comments by others.
    I hope IT can figure it out, but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Van

    This is a known issue on German OS. This has been documented in AX release notes - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/877/cpsid_87775.html (issue#2734285)
    As a workaround, you can try the following:
    1. Go to Control Panel->Regional and Language Options on XP
    2. Click Customize button in 'Standards and formats"
    3. Change the Decimal symbol from , (comma) to . (dot) and click OK
    Now try adding comments to the review file. That should help.

    HI Hussain
    1) Undeploy your project using SDM [RemoteGUI], or else ask your basis person to remove that particular project's .EAR file.
    2) If you have a clustered server ,follow this sequence
    a) Stop the Clustered Server
    b) Stop the Local Server
    c) Start the Local Server
    d) Start the Clustered Server
    3) Try to deploy your application once again

  • I updated to os x 10.8.5 today and now I cannot publish changes to my web page through iweb.  iweb crashes every time I try to publish

    I updated to os x 10.8.5 today and now I cannot publish changes to my web page through iweb.  iweb crashes every time I try to publish

    First do the following:
    1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
    User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
    NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    Next, in Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

    Any other ideas?

    Most likely you are suffering from a bug in iWeb that doesn't let you publish websites if an image you have added to your site begins with space. You can either search for that image and remove it.

  • Cannot Publish in ADI ver 7.2.4

    Hi,
    Is this a known bug issue? I have a correct tnsnames file, and all correct passwords, however I still cannot publish reports.
    I was told that this is a known issue with ADI ver 7.2.4. I am trying to find a web page from Oracle that acknowledges this bug, but I cannot find it.
    Anyone know the bug in ADI and where I can find info about it? I tried to Google it, however it didn't come up. Or is anyone running 7.2.4 and able to publish?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    I am using ADI version 7.2.5, but I think we were using that version before.
    Are you saying that you are able to log into ADI, but when you submit a report,
    you receive an error message?
    What does the error message say?
    I recall having an issue before, because I forgot to include the
    'FND...' entries in the tnsnames file..

    Tried after the upadte and still cannot publish.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,
    Can you please confirm what is the resolution of your project? (check the bottom right side or click on modify > rescale project and check height & width).
    Create a back up of your project (save it with a different name on another location), then rescale the project, so that W & H both should be in even numbers. (increase or decrease W or H by 1 to make them even)
    Then republish your project in .MP4 and check whether this works?
    Thanks.

  • Cannot publish: solution found

    Hi all. I'm an iWeb/.mac newbie with a trial .Mac account testing whether or not to keep the .mac.
    I first fired up iWeb a few weeks ago, then didn't have time to mess with it. Recently, from lack of time to do a photo gallery myself via emacs, and the need to share some pictures, I used iPhoto to put some pictures online on the .mac account.
    That worked fine and page was created, that is until I started messing with iWeb trying to add more pages. I had previously published one small/test page just fine, then continuously (weeks) had problems and could not publish. Then 1.1.1 came out, and I still could not publish.
    Some of the solutions I tried: editting the Domains.sites package. Deleting the iweb prefs file. Deleting the Domains.sites file. (see group archive for explanations of these methods)
    Nothing worked, and I spent hours reading all your helpful messages in this forum and surfing for solutions.
    Last nite I finally hit on the problem - an upstream httpd proxy server (squid, on a Firewall). I realized the first iWeb page I had published I did from a Mac at work. The rest I tried doing from home, where the proxy server is. Whenever I tried to publish from home I got the "cannot publish" error. I had mistaken that for .Mac downtime, slowdowns, phase of the moon, you know the drill.
    So last nite I turned of the web-proxy here, and lo and behold I now have absolutely no problems publishing (proof: http://web.mac.com/lottadot/ )

    With the firewall I'm using it's just a checkbox to enable/disable. YMMV. BTW, Astaro is free for home use. http://astaro.com/
