Cannot purchase artist lessons

Using GarageBand 11 (6.0.5) I am unable to purchase artist lessons.  I can preview any lesson, but clicking on the buy now button does nothing.  Click on the Account link in the upper right also does nothing.
I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I have all the latest updates (this includes OSX, iTunes, iLife, Garage Band, etc)
I hope someone knows how to fix Garage Band, I have some purchased lessons I can no longer get to, and some I want to buy.  Everything else seems to be working fine in Garage Band, except for the artist lessons.  The guitar lessons download fine, as long as they aren't artist lessons.

I went to the Apple Store in Charleston, South Carolina today with the same problem.  The genius guy wasn't able to purchase or click "Account" on my machine too.  We tried on a few machines at the Apple Store.  They were all having the same problems.  I went home and tried it on my wife's computer.  The same problem on her's as well.  This is a Cupertino issue.  I hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Garageband unable to purchase artist lessons

No idea how this forum works.  I bring up garageband and try to purchase an artist lesson.  The button clicks but no purchase is made.

  • Artist Lessons bought in GB9 missing in GB11

    Hi.
I upgraded to iLife 11 last night and this morning opened up GarageBand 11 to find that the Artist Lessons I bought with the previous version have disappeared.
How do I open my previously purchased artist lessons with the new version?

Did you repair Permissions after the installation of iLife 11? As anyone who has repaired them in Disk Utility will observe, there are a lot of issues to be corrected. Try this first.
Did you throw away any GB preferences? Some GB prefs are recreated when opening the application, others are not. A Time Machine or other back up prior to removing those prefs should still have them available for replacement.
Lessons and all the loops, instruments, Artist Lessons etc are stored here:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/... and in your case, Artist Lessons.
Open GarageBand, File New, Open an Existing File, navigate to that folder and select the lesson you want and Open it. That should do the deed.
    I hope this helps.

  • I cannot find my artist lesson for re-download!

I need to re-download my artist lesson but it isn't under my account like the other forums said. I called Apple and they told me it would be $50 to help me since I am out of my Macbook Pro's apple care. It isn't really worth it for $5. Any ideas?
I can pull up the purchase on my account page, but there isn't any kind of option to redownload or anything. It just says delivered digitally, and then gives the same options it does for a physical order.
I am really frustrated, because this is still a continuation of when the store was down for all that time. I spent weeks following all the other forums and obcessively checking my account page just in case it kicked back in.

If it is the first CS version then you will need to check out the following.  I believe it applies to CS as well even though it specifies CS2....

  • Garageband purchase of artist lessons fails

the store for the artist lessons seems to be offline, because i´m not able to buy any artist lessons...

Is your GarageBand version GarageBand '11or the newer GarageBand 10.0?
In GarageBand 10.0 you can only buy Artist lessons, if you upgraded by buying the in-app purchase, see this Support document:
Expanding GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) content with an in-app purchase
For me, the Artist Lessons are available right now:
Previously, there had been issues, that the artist lessons have not been available in all countries. Are you in a country, where teh artist lessons are supposed to be available?

  • Download of artist lesson problem

    Dear Community
I purchased an artist lesson. when it had completed below it it said 10000% complete . When i tried to open it i got two separate messages. 1 " Audio file 'TomS_DLG_2.aif not found " 2nd message as below
I followed the instruction for re downloading the lesson, Also tried deleting the lesson and redownloading it.
    any suggestions.
Currently using Garageband '09. which has worked well.

I presume that what you would like to do is "download" the Excel file from your hard disk and see it displayed in your .jsp page.
That at least seems to be what you are trying to do in your code.
By writing "out.write" you are writing to the output stream that displays content on the .jsp page.
Unfortunately you cannot directly "read" an Excel file and display it on a .jsp page. There aren't (as far as I know) any java classes for converting excel files straight into some kind of text. Anyway it would need complicated formatting into html into some kind of semblance of the look of the file.
Excel files are stuffed full of formatting and so on so that the Excel programme can make sense of it.
Choose a simple .txt file and try again. You can get something very similar to the original file onto your .jsp page. Though there are some errors in the rest of your code as well.
I'll post something in a minute that will do this for you.

  • Artist Lessons on More Than One Computer

I am considering purchasing an artist lesson or two. I use my guitar with my Mac Pro and my keyboard with my MacBook. This has more to do with the size of the rooms I use them in than anything else. My question is, if you purchase a lesson, can you move it to other computers? Has anyone tried this yet?
Message was edited by: Aaron Soucy1

I guess my question is both technical and of a legal nature. It sounds technically possible. Before I spend the money, I am trying to find out if I can use the lessons on ALL of MY computers. I'm not trying to pirate anything. Is there a licensing agreement similar to DRM iTunes tracks where you can use it on 5 computers? I haven't been able to find the EULA for the lessons.

  • How to access same Artist Lessons on both my iMac and MBP

I can access Garageband on both my iMac and my MBP but when I try to access the artist lessons on either, I cannot download any lesson that's not on the other.

You "access" GarageBand, the artist lesson or any other apps or files because they are "installed" on a specific machine.
You have installed GarageBand on both machine but it seems that you have not installed (downloaded) all the lessons on both machines.
On whatever machine you want to use the artist lessons you have to open GarageBand and download the lessons on that machine. GarageBand stores those files in a specific location. You can actually check if they are there. They are in the system Library. Here is the path:
    Hope that helps

  • HT4710 Where do I find previously purchased guitar lessons on Garage Band?

I've just tried to redownload a previously purchased lesson from within an updated Garage Band.
It did aknowledge that I had already purchased the item/lesson and, as it usualy did with the songs from iTunes a few months ago (just before iCloud), it asked me if I wanted to repurchase the item.
As I had no other visible way of redownloading the lesson I pressed the ok button.
The problem is that, afterwards, it did, in fact, charge my credit card for this redownload. As a matter of fact it did charge my credit card twice since I did click the button a second time few seconds after, as I wasn't sure that everything was right.
So now, I've paied 3 times for the same lesson:
    - 1st one, the 9th of January of 2010.
    - 2nd and 3rd, the 11th of August of 2012.
Does anyone know how can I redownload all the lessons I've purchased back in 2010?
Since I've updated to the latest version of Garage Band (sold through the App Store) I've lost all of them. What can I do?
I know Apple aknowledges the sell of those (anyway I have the invoices), but I can't find any of those applestore purchases I've made prior to the last 18 months (I'm refering to my Apple Store Account > Orders page)
And since now we don't have Express Lane anymore I'm in a deathend!
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Have you already tried this?
GarageBand: Re-downloading Learn to Play Artist Lessons
To download a purchased Learn to Play Artist Lesson again later:
Log in to your Apple Store account and vIew your order history.
Click any lesson to download it again.
For me this worked beautifully. After signing into the account and viewing the Order history, I found Sting waiting for me to download again.

  • Artist Lessons

why can't I buy artist lessons with the itunes topup card?,when I click on buy lesson it takes me to a page and wants a credit card purchase.I upgraded to Garageband 11 with the Mac App store that does accept the itunes topup card.

Could the people telling the poster to "relax" and apologizing on Apple's behalf with comments about no release date was stated, please show me where on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/ca/ilife/garageband/#lessons
Or when during Apple's keynote did they give any tiniest bit of a hint that the artist they featured would not be available when purchased?
Go to the page on the link... there is Sarah McClachlan. One of the reasons I specifically purchased iLife was for the Sarah lesson. (Please don't reply saying "You have to purchase the lessons") Yes, we know the lessons have to be purchased, the problem is all the lessons that are featured on Apple's website are available for purchase, EXCEPT for Sarah's. Yet, there it is, advertised on Apple's website.

  • Artist Lessons on GarageBand 11

    Hi guys !
I'm looking for the piano artist lessons in garageband 11, but since I live outside of US, I can't purchase or download them...
I've found Sara Bareilles, Ben Folds and One Republic piano lessons, do you know where I can find the rest of them ?
Or if there's a way to purchase them outside of US ? I've tried Hotspot Shield with no good results...
    Thanks !

Idem pour moi, impossible d'acheter un morceau d'artiste. Lorsque je clique sur acheter, rien ne se passe.
De même que pour accéder au compte, rien ne se passe non plus.
    Quelqu'un aurait-il une solution ?

  • GarageBand Store for artist lessons isn't available

The German GarageBand Store for artist lessons isn't available. If I click on the buy-button nothing happens.

You can go to "Purchases" tab and check again.
If OS X Lion is still not downloading, try at a different network environment.
By the way, Mac Pro (2006) with a newer graphics card runs Mavericks perfectly with modifications in the installer.
It's not allowed to be discussed here, but you can simply google how to do it.

  • Artist lessons lost and unable to download again

the apple site dosen't allow you to download artist lessons if they were bought more than 18 months ago, why?
    Anybody any solutions

I've encountered the same issue: moved to a new laptop and my GarageBand artist lessons I purchased back in 2009 & 2010 are not available, with no obvious way to get them back.
After trying many of the suggestions from around the web to no avail, I decided to call Apple support for help.  These folks are always very earnest and they went out of their way to help me.  Here are some of the things they had me try:
    - Go to store.apple.com and search order history.  As others have reported, that only goes back 18 months.
    - Asked me to search ~/Library/Application Support/Garageband/ (that folder didn't exist on my new laptop).
    - Asked if I still had access to the data from the old laptop (I did not)
    - Had me go through my order history in the iTunes Mac App.  Although that goes back way further than 18 months, for some reason my artist lessons weren't listed there
    - Asked me to find the original email receipts.  I did find them, but they still couldn't access my original order from those order numbers.
In this process I got passed from the original advisor to a senior advisor then to an "itunes specialist".  They said that since my purchases predated the App store, that they should be in my iTunes order history, but obviously they were not.  Finally they told me they needed engineering to research this further.  The advisor gave me a case number and a phone number to get direct access back to him, and told me they'd have an answer in 2 business days.
An hour later he called me back and said they'd credit my iTunes account for the cost of the missing lessons and to just go ahead and re-purchase them.
Bottom line, I'm a satisfied customer.  If you haven't tried calling Apple Support, I'd say give it a try.  It's a breath of fresh air as opposed to most large company's support call centers!
