Cannot put new songs on ipod nano with itunes 11

I upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and now cannot put new songs on my son's iPod nano (gen6, 1.2PC). Help, please.

An iPod will not (and cannot) have iTunes 11 on it. If you mean you want to sync your iPod from your computer with iTunes 11, just connect the iPod and click its name in the header bar. Or go to the View menu in iTunes and select "Show Sidebar" and you'll have an interface substantially the same as in earlier versions of iTunes.
Regards.

  • How do you use new ipod nano with itunes 10.6.3?

How do you use new ipod nano with Itunes 10.6.3.  I have MBP and it lists itunes 10.6.3 as most current version and won't let me install itunes 11

The seventh generation iPod nano requires at least iTunes 10.7 and Mac OS X 10.6.

Is the "software update" for iTunes 12?  Or something you did to the iPod?

  • Add new songs to ipod nano

I was given an ipod nano with lots of songs, podcasts, etc that I want to keep but want to add more songs.  From what I can tell, the ipod is synced with another itunes account and if I want to put my songs on it my only alternative is to wipe our everything on it and add my stuff.
SOme stuff on the ipod have not been purchased at itunes.
What can I do to keep all data and add to it?

Never mind. I was mistakenly using the 'Add To' button instead of just dragging the songs onto the ipod icon. All is good.

  • 1st Generation iPod Nano with iTunes 7 (the most recent one)

I have a first generation 2GB iPod Nano, and updated my iTunes to the newest version. But now, I can't seem to update the songs on my iPod with songs in my iTunes library. I click "sync iPod", but no new songs from my library goes into my iPod. I never had this problem before with the other iTunes. Can someone please help me to fix this so I can put new songs on my iPod? Thanks a lot.

You have to wait several minutes for iTunes to recognize any new iPod or iPhone after the 7.7 update. There is a major bug with the program. Apple has removed the download from their servers, which I don't think they have ever done, even with minor issues of previous iTunes releases in the past... I'm sure they are working on it and I hope to see iTunes 7.7.1 ready to download soon.
Don't force quit iTunes, even though you'll see the "spinning beach ball" for several minutes. Let it hang and eventually it will recognize the ipod. It is very inconvenient, but we'll have to wait until there is an iTunes update that fixed this.

  • Problem syncing ipod nano with itunes after external hard disc install

Since moving the itunes library (without a hitch) to a new external drive we have had a new problem which presumably is linked! When the ipod is plugged in all seems normal at first, the ipod syncs ok, then the system hangs at that point. itunes says "syncing ipod do not disconnect" (Even though the sync icon has vanished from next to the ipod on the itunes screen)likewise the ipod says "Do not disconnect". Windows then opens a "Autoplay" window which is obviously searching for files, with the torch graphic. This continues with the computer frozen. Cancelling the autoplay, leaves it saying "Cancelling" but it doesn't. Ctrl-alt-del is required to stop it, but that causes the computre to actually require a switch off. The fault is obviously with whatever is triggering the "Autoplay", but the ipod correctly lists as drive H, it doesn't seem to be a drive letter confusion. (Unfortunately it is impossible to learn which drive the autoplay is searching, and why, and what it can't find! Is there anybody that can help, as itunes is unuseable with ipod at present. I have tried completely removing and reinstalling itunes/Quick time with no effect!

Recently I transfered my entire iTunes library over to my external HDD
How and what exactly did you transfer?
and completed all of the necessary requirements to be able to play my music back from the new folder location (i.e. changed the location in iTunes preferences and consolidated everything etc)
This should been done before you transferred anything.
Now I have gone to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes and it keeps coming up with an error
What exactly is the error and when do you see it?

  • Syncing ipod nano with itunes

Having lost a lot of my music files from itunes because of computer failure and user error(!)I now have more songs on my ipod nano than appear in my itunes library. If I attempt to sync with itunes now, will it delete any songs in the ipod that are no longer showing in the itunes library/list? I would like to add a few new downloads from time to time but dont want to risk losing the existing contents of my ipod...? (Is there a command to prevent itunes deleting songs in my ipod?).

Just wanted to say - "thanks very much"- to Zevoneer, for such an informative and helpful reply to my recent posting: looks like its a full time job...!
    Cheers,

I have added some new music to my itunes, attempted to syn my ipod nano and instead of adding the music it has completely emptied ALL of the music off my ipod! I have made several attempts - doing what I have always done to add music, but to no avail?

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

They are in the audiobook catagory in itunes and the audiobook catagory shows up when my ipod is plugged into the computer, however when I unplug it I can't find the files! There is no Audiobook catagory or playlist on my ipod (unlike the on the computer). Has anyone else had this problem and figured out a solution? Thanks!

  • I don't understand how to put apps onto my iPod Touch with iTunes 11.1.12

I recently just downloaded the newest iTunes, 11.1.12, and it's my very first time downloading apps. So I plugged my iPod in and went to the app store, downloaded a few apps, and I couldn't find them on my iPod, and I end up finding them in another folder on iTunes, and I tried to select and drag the apps but they refused to move into another folder. Here are the pictures >>

(Oh and another question, anyone know how to find the textPlus app? I tried to look for it in the iTunes store but it was nowhere to be seen. Someone mind sharing how they found it if they have the app?)

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
I could not find anything on the link you provided that pertained to your problem,.

  • I no longer have a computer and cannot put new songs on my iphone anymore. I would like to sync my phone to a friends computer, but he already has his iphone synced to that itunes. If I sync my iphone to his itunes will it delete any of his content?

I know longer have my computer because im taking time off of school. I have no way of putting fresh music on my phone and its bugging me. is it possible for me to sync my iphone to a friends computer and  his itunes if his iphone is already synced to it, without it deleting any of his memory, data, iphone settings, or songs?

It will not, but syncing it will sync all of your notes, apps, songs, and email onto his computer. I mean that he will not see your email password, but he is logged in, and can back THAT up on his phone and steal it, but no, it will not.

    Hello Bridgie\'s girl
Try out the 5r’s section to resolve issues with your iPod nano not syncing. A simple restart my fix it or you may need to restore it all together.
