Cannot re-install Itunes on Win 7

After uninstalling ALL Windows apps, cleaning any Apple related references in Registry and removing all related temp info and lost folders/files, the downloaded iTunessetup executable does not want to install or unpack on my Windows 7 HP laptop.  Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Found a solution: Copied / Downloaded the itunessetup.exe file to Flash Drive from another PC and installed Itunes from Flash drive.

Error on installing iTunes under Win 8
I have recently upgraded to Win 8.  When installing iTunes the following error shows:
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32",version"8.0.50727.4053.publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to Help and Support for more information HRESULT:0x80073715.
I am running the ITunes x64 install.  I have installed the V++ redistributable with no change in result.
I have subsequently downloaded and manually installed via the Apple Software update program iTunes.  However this does not allow my iPad to be connected as it is not the x64 version.

After spending an entire day on this issue, I figured out something that worked.  After installing Windows 8 (64-bit) then Visual Studio 2012 (or 2013) then the latest 64-bit iTunes app, I got the 0x80073715 error.
What finally worked for me was:
    1) Get all the Windows updates and hotfixes - especially the ones for Visual Studio.
    2) Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14431 and download the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update"
    3) Only install vcredist_x64.exe.
After running these steps, I was able to completely install iTunes on my Windows 8 64-bit instance.
    Hope this helps.

  • Trying to install itunes on win 8.1.  keep getting error apple application support not found.  asks me to uninstall and install itunes.  i tried several times and keep getting same error.

trying to install itunes on win 8.1.  keep getting error apple application support not found.  asks me to uninstall and install itunes.  i tried several times and keep getting same error.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

How to install iTunes on Win XP 64 Pro?

iTunes is not supported on 64-bit XP. But if you search these forums for something like "XP 64", you'll find a number of threads discussing workarounds that have "forced" iTunes on the 64-bit version of XP, albeit with varying levels of success. For starters, try this thread:

    (Apologies for butting in wiclee.)
The effect is usually caused by trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system. Unfortunately it's a bit trickier to deal with on Windows 7 systems than Vista or XP. (The "Vortical" instructions which can fix it for almost all folks on Vista and XP aren't applicable to Windows 7.)
Try having a look through the following (unfortunately very long) topic. It contains a lot of information on the Windows 7 variants of this, and possible methods for fixing the various Segoe UI-related issues that might be in play:

  • Cannot install iTunes on win xp. Cannot access file on network and I do not have a network. Looking for a file iTunes.msi. Anybody help me

iTunes will not install on windows xp del pc install cannot acess mile iTunes.msi.   Help

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cannot install itunes on win 8.1

    I have a Win 8.1 Pro HP ENVY 15t-k000 x64-based Intel Core I7-4710HQ with 16GB Memory, 100
GB SSD and 1TB HDD.  When I originally got the system I downloaded and installed iTunes (don’t  remember which version it was) on it with no problems.  Eventually an iTunes update asked to be applied (don't remember which one), it did not go on smoothly but
iTunes has not worked since.  If I try to start iTunes would get message "The program can't start because
MediaToolbox.dll is missing.  Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.  ITunes
was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 126)."
I downloaded iTunes64setup.exe (Ver. 11.3.1.2 on 8/17/14) and it would not install for
various reasons.  I got back to the problem on 3/2/15 and downloaded iTunes6464setup.exe ((Ver. 12.1.1.4) and it will not
install.  Primarily gives error "An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft VC80.CRT,
type=win32 version "8.0.50727.6195",public Key Token='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b', processor architecture"amd64".  Please refer to Help and Support for more information.  HRESULT: 0x80070002.
Now, I have  since removed all iTunes programs as per the removal list (three different
Registry cleaning and removal tools) to make sure I got everything and tried to
reinstall.  Got the same results (the VC80 error).   I ran a lot of various tests, even went back and tried to install the Ver. 11.3.1.2
download and didn't get the above VC80 message but got many more assorted
messages, mostly concerning missing .dll entry points, some of which I loaded
    but to no avail.
I am back to wanting to work with the latest iTunes6464setup.exe (Ver. 12.1.1.4).  I believe VC80 message above has to do with
iTunes trying to install an update to a Visual C ++ 2005 Service Pack Redistributable but am not 100% sure.  I
have also tried several other methods of install e.g "Clean" system install, Safe Mode, all compatibility options, etc.  At this
point I am about to give up on iTunes as a media player. I have read all the internet solutions that I
could find but none of them seem to address my exact problem.  Let me remind you there is a distinct
difference between Windows 8.0 and 8.1.  A lot of Win 8.0 discussions just does not apply to Win8.1.
Thanks for any help or insight you can provide.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
There is a mild hint from another thread that disabling Windows Firewall during the reinstall might help with the Microsoft.VC80.CRT error. I'd also try the "for older video cards" version if you haven't already done so.

  • How to install iTunes in win 7 32 bit

After clicking on itunessetup.exe a error in ms dos window comes that is (inactive itunessetup.exe).   Program too big to fit in memory . Please help to solve this problem. My pc is win 7( 32 bit) ram 1.00GB , 1.80ghz processor

Maybe the file which you've got might be corrupted somehow.
Make sure you got atleast 2 GB of disk space (Of course on the drive where you have the OS installed) to install iTunes.
I'd consider you to download a fresh copy of latest iTunes from this link : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
After that make sure you right click on that downloaded file and select "Run as administrator" and install it!

  • I had problems with an upgrade to iTunes, a restore of my computer did not help. Now I cannot even install iTunes and it sounds like I need to restore my PC. How do I deauthroize my PC without having iTunes on my PC?

So... Is there a way to deauthorize my PC that is not allowing an iTunes install? Why can I not do this from my Apple ID at Apple.com?

All... I have attempted to re-install iTunes 3-4 times over the past couple of weeks with the same results. However, last Friday I tried again and was prepared to record the "exact results" as asked for.... This time it worked. iTunes installed properly, and my devices all synced in without problems. There have been no significant changes to my PC in the intervening few weeks since this problem started. I'm clueless as to "what" happened, but now it's fixed itself...
