Anyone got this experience? All chinese in the pdf is blank in the Mail of iPhone. I can read it in my macbook.

Cannot Read Body of my Mail on MacBook Pro

I am using Mail with the latest Mavericks on my MacBook Pro....and it is all updated to the latest software updates. For the past 5 or 6 days, I cannot read the body of my mail. The headers etc. are visible but in the preview pane below, nothing shows. I think this started because I had left the computer for a few hours and it went to sleep. When I tried to get back on, nothing happened. I pressed the enter and other keys but it still kept 'sleeping'. I finally resorted to turning the power switch off and was presented with this problem. I have searched these forums and though there are a few instances of this, they either seemed to be with older OS systems or on the initial installation of Mavericks....I have had Mavericks since it first came out with no issues. Also, the majority of these type issues seemed to be with the iPhone or iPad...and I still have not been able to get to the bottom of this.
I have tried to Rebuild the mailbox several times but to no avail. Sometimes the Mail also quits unexpectedly and I am given an error statement. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In the Mail > Preferences I have it set to display in Classic view.
Side bar or Accounts in-boxes and other folders
Then a top window of Messages left or new in the In-boxes and the messages being "read" below that.
There are occasions when deleting a messages in the top window does not automatically select another.
This can mean nothing displays in the bottom box (I just can't re-create it right now ).
If I change to the regular/default view I see the Side Bar still, then the Summary column followed by the Messages column.
The Summary I have chosen has three Messages related to it.
In the Messages column I have scrolled the first to reveal the contents but also show the Header of the next. (I chose to show Full Headers so there is a lot of info here or not only the Sender but the Server(s) it came through to get to me).
I take you do mean the actual Header to the actual message (the lower right item in the pic) rather than calling one of the columns "Headers" ?

I cannot read S/MIME encrypted Mails on iPhone and iPad

I have a Certificate for my email address by Comodo. It is installed in Thunderbird on PC and iPhone and iPad with iOS 7.1.2.
Thunderbird on PC behaves like expected, i can send and read encrypted emails.
On iPad and iPhone i cannot read encrypted emails.
I imported my S/MIME Certificate via email attachment (p.12-File) and activated it in the mail section for my account. I also enabled signature and encryption function.
1. When i receive an email that is signed but not encrypted, the certificate of the sender is trusted & installed.
2. When i receive an email that is encrypted, the same sender is now shown in red color. I cannot read the email, because my profile allegedly does not contain my identitiy.
3. When i try to reply to the signed but not encrypted email (1.) then the message i send is signed but not encrypted, even though the address is shown in blue with a lock (which text info: encryption is possible).
4. When I send an encrypted email to my own account via ipad or iphone, i can read it on both ipad and iphone. This makes me think that the iOS Mail App uses S/MIME encryption a little bit different then Thunderbird.
All of this does not fit together. It think I correctly installed my certificate but there are problems in the Mail Program on iOS.

Solved: the problem was that the emails were encrypted with an old public key.

Adobe Reader 2 for mobile device cannot read some pdf's

I have an IPAQ 211 handheld and am using Adobe Reader version2. It reads most pdf's, but some produce an error message and shows only blank pages. Here is the message: "Unknown filter. Some content cannot be displayed". Any ideas? I can read these in Adobe Reader 7.0 on my desktop, but not on my handheld.

Have you tried the same on a different browser ? Are you able to open and read pdf documents saved on your computer locally ?

Cannot read certain PDF files....

I have downloaded some bus timetables (only a few pages each and some just one page) and they can be read easily by my Samsung phone and my home PC
But in the Playbook I just get a black screen
The Playbook however seems to read other PDF files easily
So what am I doing wrong ....?
I would appreciate any thoughts / advice please

It looks the file names are in the wrong encoding. Where did you get them? I'm sure your computer can read Chinese, for example this web page:

Adobe Acrobat 9 installed but cannot read any PDF file from a Browser window

I have a new(-ish) PC running Vista and had Adobe Acrobat v9 installed. However I cannot open PDF files when trying to view from a Browser on a web site. IE8, Firefox and Chrome all produce the same error that claims I need to install Adobe 8 or 9. Have searched "Manage add-ons" and found Adobe enabled. Have hunted around but cannot seem to find a way to fix this. Any ideas? This seems so fundamental that it is difficult to believe that (a) it happened in the first place and (b) that there is not an obvious way to fix it!

Are you on a PC with a profile setup?
Assuming you are,
Rename your profile to something like PROFILE.OLD and then relog into the PC. If the PDF's open without issue, you can remove the Abode folders in the old profile under Documents and Settings\%profile%\Application Data and Local Settings\Application Data.
Rename the new profile to yet something else like PROFILE.NEWOLD. Then rename your PROFILE.OLD to its original name. Confirm that you have removed the above folders from this existing profile. Perform MIGWIZ I.E. Export files and settings to a folder. Now rename the profiles so that the .NEWOLD is the active profile and run migwiz there - bringing in your old settings. These steps are only needed if you wish to preserve all the data and settings from your old profile.

Preview cannot read some PDF files

I have some files than can be read and filled in etc. just fine in Adobe Reader, but cannot be opened in preview. Moreover, on screen, these files cannot be displayed. They give an error message that says Please wait:

I just installed Adobe Reader on my Macbook Air (followed all steps given) and still cannot read my .pdf files. Disappointed!

If by that you mean Preview is still opening the files Control Click and HOLD on a .pdf file you'll see Open With (at the bottom) Other Dialogue box. - mouse over to it and before you choose Acrobat click Always Open With in the checkbox.

It depends what character encoding you used for the Chinese.
I don't use
ColdFusion, but I understand that it outputs everything in
UTF-8
encoding. To override this, you need to use a
<cfcontent> tag:

Cannot read chinese in gmail

I have setup a gmail mailbox in my iPhone 3GS, however, Chinese characters inside the mail become symbol....
Please advise how I can fix it. Thanks.

Most likely it is an encoding problem, and there is no way to select Mail encodings on an iPhone. You could try switching your OS to Chinese, if it is not already that way.
Does it work if you use webmail instead of Mail?

Adobe Reader 9 cannot read bitonal PDF w/ LZW

When I use Adobe reader 9 on bitonal PDFs with LZW compression it throws
error message "insufficient data for an image". But I can read them fine
with Acrobat reader 8.1, 7.0 and 5.0. On reader 6.0 it will error sometimes.
The PDFs were created by proprietary software. The PDF version is 1.4.
The files are usually less than 100Kb. Most are between 6.0Kb to 90.0Kb.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

AOL used to have a lot of problems with PDFs, hope that has not returned. Anyway, the PDF was probably sent as a text file rather than encoded as a binary file. That would make it corrupt and is a problem on the senders end. Older versions of Outlook also had problems with PDFs that would cause a problem on your end.
