Cannot read email on Safari connected to ATT

My wife has always insited on reazding her email using Safari to copnnect to our email server service (att.net in this case)
She is using an iPad, an older one, she is also a little bit of a (lot) techno-dunce. I checked everything I knew how to no avail.
She can get and send email using Apples Mail, but gthat is not what she is use to orwilling to settle for.
In checking her iPad's iOs number I found out it was 5.1.1. So i hooked it up to my iMac and it told me that her iuOs was up
to date. Another check would be done Aug 28th.
H  E  L  P  !  !  !  !  !

att email displays the message subject and the fiorst few lines, but will not open the body of the email.
Apple Mail does all of that. Her Safari iOs said it has 3 javascript errors. But I don't know ho to fix that.

  • After ios 7.0.3 cannot read email

Have the 4S - downloaded ios 7.0.3 and now cannot read email or attachements. What is 'mime'? I can SEE the email but when i open it there is no content. HELP I use my phone for work and this is killing me.

My problem resolved itself overnight. I'm guessing it was just overloaded servers from everyone downloading the ios update and Mavericks.
Good lick on your issue but I don't have a solution to that one other than perhaps time for it to sort itself out. Good luck..

  • Mail:Cannot read emails in server

No error messages. Doctor connects. I can send emails. I cannot get emails off server to apple mail. I can see (subject titles from Pop3 server) and delete emails from "account information". All this after account name change. 25 hours and no progress made. Please help. grayfish

What’s the problem exactly? Is it that Mail doesn’t check for mail on this account, or that it checks but downloads nothing, or what?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Could it be that the account is in an “offline” state? Is the Mailbox > Go Online command enabled or disabled?
Open Window > Activity Viewer and tell Mail to check for mail on this account. What do you see Mail doing there?
Do the messages that Mail doesn’t download but show up in the Account Info window appear as already downloaded or as not downloaded yet (dot column)?
All this after account name change.
Not sure what you mean here. Could you please elaborate?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • TS3276 Cannot read email content in Mail using MacBook Pro

I am not able to read my email messages most of the time.  I can only see the header section.  I have tried getting out of Mail and then getting back in and sometimes this allows me to read my emails.  My email service provider is Gmail.  I can read my emails through my Gmail account on the web but not in Mail.

Rebuilding didn't help, then you say:  The problem seems to have been resolved...
Is it ok or not? Sorry, but it's a little confusing.
Easy way to check your internet connection ...
    Open System Preferences > Network
    Click Assist Me > Diagnostics
Select the configuration on the right.
If any buttons are red, click Continue.
I just noticed that your profile indicates your Mac has v10.7.2 installed.
If that is the case, updating your system software may help the connection issue.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
The most recent version for Lion is v10.7.5

  • Cannot read emails on Mail

I can't read my emails on Mail, though I have no problems opening it. The emails are just not displayed. I tried to reinstall my mail but it didm't work. Can anyone help me?

But most people would not know how to set their outgoing mails to Unicode in their webmail or email client.
And that might not make any difference either, because most webmail is defective and can't handle unicode correctly anyway.
The real solution should be on the receiver's end, i.e. give us the options to choose how to encode incoming emails written in different languages. Just like you can select how to encode a webpage in IE or Safari.
Of course that is correct. Hopefully the iPhone will eventually have all the encoding and font capabilities of the full OS X. Make sure you tell Apple you want this here:

  • My new ME icloud email Cannot read email on outloook or thunderbird

Hey guys, sorry for the horrible title.
I installed iOS 5 on my ipad 2 and my 2 iphones today.
Everything is great, except for 1 single issue.
I created my new .me cloud ID and email address.
And I tested my email through all my devices as well as the icloud.com domain and it works flawlessly.
But, as soon as I try and install IMAP settings in my Outlook 2007 or Mozilla Thunderbird client it fails during the connection process and says "username or password incorrect.
    Here are my IMAP settings:
    imap.mail.me.com   port 993
    smtp.mail.me.com   port 587
SSL is enabled as per Apple.com recommendations.
    Username =   [email protected]
Password = same password as apple id
Those were the recommended settings from apple. But I just CAN NOT seem to login through any email clients on my PC. It is almost like no password exists in the icloud database for external IMAP connections.
I really need this ability for work so I am hoping someone can help me fast. I plan on forwarding all my email to my new .me email address and using the cloud for everything from now on.
    Regards,
    Dom

Hey everyone. I did poking around on the IMAP server sides of things and have more information on why things aren't working right. It's a bug on apple's IMAP servers with the AUTHENTICATE command.
More info is on this thread --> https://discussions.apple.com/message/16360598#16360598
It's a bug and its so stupid. AUTHENTICATE PLAIN is required to work in ALL IMAP servers as per RFC 3501 and, of course, it doesn't work here. Arrrghhhhhhhhh

  • Cannot read email message body in Mail

    Hello Pholks,
I'm running iBook G4 w/ OS 10.4.8. Upon starting my computer and Mail this morning, I have the following very strange problem - similar to one other who has posted today:
I can see messages in my Inbox. I can see sender, subject, date sent, etc...
However, when I highlight the message, the only thing that appears in the message windo is the header info (From: Subject: Date: To:) The body of the message is not visible. This is true for some of the messages in my Inbox, but not all. Some are old, some are new today.
Further: I also see this behavior in my archived messages. Picking a random mailbox on my hard drive, some message bodies are visible, others not. It appears to be random; I can't find any common link between the messages that aren't visible.
Further: If I use Entourage, I don't have this problem; that is, the message bodies that aren't visible in Mail are visible in Entourage.
Further: If I go onto my hard drive to the Inbox folder and select a .mbox folder and look at the messages, some have visible bodies, some not.
This appears to be a problem specific to Mail. Please help - many of my archived emails are no longer accessible to me.
Further: I've done two things that may have played a role. (1) I downloaded and installed software updates for iChat and the new Security update last night; (2) I've just added an external HD for backup. I tried to run a simple backup script last night, which resulted in the iBook HD chugging for quite some time, but never did put the data on the external HD. I've run "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility, but to no avail.
    HELP.....

Thanks very much. It's turned out to be a font problem. About 30 of the fonts in my account directory /users/me/library/fonts folder were corrupted. They were somehow being viewed as unix executable files instead of font suitcases. !??! No idea what happened there.
I used Pacifist to reload fonts from my OSX installation disc, but this didn't seem to help. Instead, I found other copies of most of the corrupted fonts in the microsoft office/office/fonts folder, and replaced the corrupted fonts in my home library w/ those.
I was alerted to the fact the the problem was fonts when I tried to open an Excel file; it came back with messages that these various fonts were corrupted and needed to be removed. Strangely, though the corrupted fonts were in my home directory font folder and not the MS Office font folder, Excel was tripping up - i.e., it wasn't using the fonts from the Office folder. Hmm.
Finally, there are still a few fonts that are corrupted, and whose source is a mystery to me. They didn't come from the OS installation disc and they don't come from Office; consequently, I can't fix them. They are: Geneva CE, Geneva CY, GrCourier and N Helvitica Narrow.
Does anyone know where these fonts come from?

  • Cannot read email

Just updated to the new 4.0 on my 3.0 system on Saturday.
On Monday I noticed I can't read my email. The email will download and I can read the first 2 lines (or 3, 4, 5 lines if I change it in my settings), but when I click on the actual email to view it, there is nothing there.
I have tried deleting my email account from my phone and setting it up again, but that hasn't worked either.
Is there something I am missing?

found an answer through searching through some other questions!

  • All email opens to an ad for casual games, cannot read email.

When I use Firefox as my browser and try to view my AOL email, every one, including old and saved mail, opens to an ad for Casual Games and I am unable to read my mail. I can access it through IE, but not Firefox. I also see the same ad whenever I click on any other site, although it does vanish quickly and allows me to open a new window.

    Hi All,
I want to thank you very much for all your detailed replies.
No, I am absolutely not attempting to surveil or do any email forensics.
I simply want to have a backup copy of all our emails in case the server goes down.
Also, I may be abandoning the Mac OS X Server for email hosting and move to a professional hosted solution. I'd like to make sure I have all the emails on one or two encrypted external drives prior to migration or to send to the hosted email provider for migration.
    That said...
Yes, we are using IMAP and thus all email folders are identified by the GUID number in:
    /Library/Server/Mail/Data/
    So the question is:
    1. How can I tell which mailbox corresponds to which GUID?
    2. How can I use the data from the /Library/Server/Mail/Data/ folder? Lets say I want to import the emails into a desktop email client. Can I get this data in .eml or MBOX off my server? (or am I missing the point entirely)?
    Thanks!

  • Cannot read emails signing in via Verizon Webmail, using Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail works.

I've been experiencing a problem viewing emails online on my Laptop Sony Windows 7 and on a desktop XP Professional we own.  I can login to my account(s) individually online, but the email area is blank and trying to look at the Email & More fails to display anything.
I have reloaded Java, Adobe Flash & Reader. w/o results.  I am not experiencing problems with anything else.
I have tried on SEVERAL occasions to call in for Verizon Tech  Support , but have given up each time after spending from 1 to 3 hours holding for someone to pick up.  It doesn't seem to matter time of day on the calls.
Ideas or help would really be appreciated.

Look at other threads.  Verizon knows it has a Webmail problem and is working on it.  As you said there is no email problem as email clients work.
This doesn't belong in this thread or forum.

  • Cannot get email says cant connect to server

cant get email cant connect to server i got an iphone 4 tried to transfer info but mail wont work

If you encounter problem only on outgoing mail, than maybe I can help, I did face this issue sometime ago, outgoing server for Wi-fi & Cellular using different server, for Wi-fi, the setting should be the same as what you set for your PC, for Cellular, you need to contact your mobile service provider for the outgoing server setting, this should solve the problem as iPhone & iPad allow to have multiple setting
