I am trying to print a Spool request in SAP Java GUI 7.10. I am working on Apple with OSX operating system. I get this error message -
" Cannot read list of frontend printers " - Message no. PO781
What do i need to do to take a print out from SAP on my Mac.

Thats the problem.
Bug started happening all the sudden.
Double click a java file on the desktop that just two second before was built fine. Go to build it and it says that.
"error: cannot read: C:\Documents; and Settings\JR\Desktop\logrand.java"
Now note this is a file in the IDE.
copy/paste/change file name/brand new file/turn off the computer. Everything on the desktop path says that same error message. Then i noted the semicolon in the middle of the path after documents. The compilier has misspelled the path name. Its open the file in the IDE but somehow the build step gets a path with a semicolon in the middle.
What do i do?

it felt like some sort of corruption so i just reinstalled netbeans and that did the trick.

Just read "Best of Macworld" article "How to disable Java on your Mac," in email dated 2/25/13. I run OS 10.4.11 and Java 1.5.0_19. Do I remove/isolate the same way? Will the effects of removal/isolation the same as described in the article?

Hello, if you're talking about disabling Java in say Safari...
Safari>Preferences>Security>uncheck/Disable Java in your Browser settings, not JavaScript.

I don't think any conversions are needed, just get yourself an external USB 3.5" floppy drive and drag the documents onto your iMac's HD. You should be able to locate one on Ebay or maybe even Amazon. To open them you will need something that reads .doc files like Pages, MS Word for Mac etc..

Print Problems with Elements 9 for Mac

I cannot print borderless (randlos) on format 10 x 15 (or any other) on my Printer Canon PIXMA MP970. With Elements 8 for Windows there is no problem. I have tried any possible combinations of adjustements and have the lates printer driver installed.

10 x 15 cm is a standard European paper size but the choice ist not available in the paper size selection. The choices avaiIable seem to be only American. I have to define it as user defined (Benutzerdefiniert). I have contacted Canon but they have no solution for this problem. It seems that PSE 9 for Mac and Canon printer drivers don't like each other. A least the German versions. With PSE 8 for Windows everything works fine. There the standard European paper sizes and borderless printing can be selected with no problem. As mentioned in other topics rotating is although a problem. Lucky enough I have also a Windows system with PSE 8.

Default Printer Settings In Microsoft Office For Mac

I have some problems printing in Microsoft Office. I intend to set up the printer to print double sided and also in color. I've done the neccessary settings in the application and saved the preset as the default preset to print.
The problem i am facing now is that in Microsoft Word or any other Microsoft Office program for MAC, when i select File - Print, the printer prints correctly. But when i simply click the print icon in the application itself, it prints wrongly i.e no double sided and in black and white.
After some tinkering around, i also found out that if i were to print by selecting File - Print first and then subsequently directly selecting the Print Icon i wll get the correct printer setting which i have setup. But if i were to close the document and open it again, it would print wrongly if i were to directly select the print icon in the application. I tried using textedit to test out the print setting and it prints corectly though there is no option to select the Print Icon directly instead of choosing File - Print.
Is this behaviour normal or is it not supposed to be in this way?
Any adviced appreciated. Hope my explaination is not too confusing. Did searching the forums but unable to get the right direction.

I am pretty sure this is the behavior of applications that have a Print icon that bypasses the Print dialog. It uses either the default for the printer or the last setting used, if it was used in the current session of the application.

What's the best all in one printer on the market today for mac?

All of the reviews by the media and users contradict each other leaving me very indecisive. I was thinking about the Epson Workforce 645 but one review said it wasn't compatible with Lion (and who knows if it will be compatible with Mountain Lion?). Does anyone have a newer model all in one that they love? I plan to use it with my macbook pro and use a wireless airport connection. Thanks

All printer manufacturer's play "catch-up" with OS revisions. If a printer doesn't work immediately with the latest OS, you should check the manufacturer's website. Here's a laugh: I purchased an Epson EPL-5700i monochrome laser printer a dozen years ago, for "only" $500. With all of the changes in Macs and the OS, I've never been not able to use the printer. Either Apple or the vendor has made printer driver software available seamlessly.

Printing local with JAVA Gui 7.10 on a MAC

I installed the JAVA GUI 7.10 on my MacBook Pro and it all works fine. The only problem I have is local printing. Since I do not have SAPLPD anymore, I am not able to use local printing. Is there another possibility to do local printing with a Mac?

Front-End Printing Using SAPLPD (access method 'F') is only supported on Win32 platforms. For newer back-end versions, a new printing architecture for all platforms supported by SAP GUI for Java (access method 'G') is available, see SAP Note 821519 for details.

Are borderless prints possible in Elements 4 for Mac?

I have worked in Elements 2 for years in Mac OS9 with lovely consistent results. Have now upgraded to Elements 4 for Mac (iBookG4, OS10.4.8,1.5G RAM) and am having problems. I am getting a handle on the processing menus, but cannot figure out how to print borderless prints. I have been doing it for years - 4x6, 5x7, 10x12 - in Elements 2 on my Epson Stylus Photo R300. I have tried setting parameters in the Print Preview dialogues, in my printer menus - cannot make it happen. I assume it is something I am doing incorrectly or not doing. Please help! Thanks.

I tried after downloading the most recent drivers - still no luck with borderless. I have emailed Epson Tech Support for suggestions. I am confused about the driver situation. I go to Print Preview (am still unsure of what selections to make here to get the proper orientation - it seems to do portrait when I want landscape and vice/versa) - I usually try 4x6 or custom and type in the actual dimensions to fill a 4x6 borderless (based on what I would do in Elements 2). Then I go to Page Setup - select the R300, then in Print I select the R300, 4x6 borderless and Premium Glossy Photo Paper. The Print Preview at that point still shows a border, atho it is grey, not white, and when I print, I get a white border. The orientation thing seems to be a bug - when I choose Landscape in the Printer driver, I get portrait in the Elements 'preview'. Sorry to go on so long, but I thought maybe there might be something in this that might give a clue - I really can't afford to buy a new printer right now, and have no idea how to look for a driver. Thanks for your patience.

I tried uploading the newest Adobe reader and it did not help. Any ideas?

I have a problem: I want to use an external hard drive on my Mac as well as on a PC and a TV. The normal structure of Mac (Journaled) isn't supported by PC/ TV. I changed the structue into DOS(FAT) on my Mac. That's suppoerted by TV and PC. But I'll use the hard drive for storage of HD films so I'm afraid that the structure is not good enough for this (it seems old to me DOS.....) And I don't want the quality to be influenced by a bad structure.
Then I've formatted into NTFS on my PC, but then I cannot put files from Mac on the hard drive.
What is the best solution?

FAT works great, but the problem is that it's old and that you can't store files that are bigger than 4 GB. In this case, you have exFAT, a filesystem compatible with OS X and Windows, but I don't think that the TV will read it.
If you want to use NTFS, you need a third-party application to be able to write in it on OS X, like Paragon NTFS

Printing from photoshop elements 6 for mac

I have an i-mac and use photoshop elements 6. I have created hundreds of images but when i have contacted printers to print cards i created from these images using indesign i have been told by many printers that there is an issue regarding RGB vs CMYK . Where and how can i get my RGB images printed for a reasonable price. billrene

The main question I have is whether or not there is an efficient way to get a rgb images printed. I have an Imac whose screen is a rgb pattern so even if i convert the images to cmyk (which i can do in a couple different ways -- through indesign or putting the images in photoshop). however since my sreen is a rgb format i can not acurately see the changes I have made through converting to cmyk. also i have several hundred images i have created and would rather not have to convert them all before printing. I have had problems finding a printer that will even attempt to print rgb images. I have checked at kinkos as well as several print shops in montana where i live. each time i am told they can not print rgb. the images I sent to those printers were unusable because of the color distortions. When I talked with some one in the Apple store they suggested I get a different computer. It has also been suggested i get a printer that could be calibrated to the rgb format and i could print the images myself. another suggestion i received was that there may be a calibration program/software that i could use to make the converesion. Print problem in Microsoft word for Mac

So I try to print my file, but every time I print my file, there will be one additional page that contains the print job information (file name, time printed etc). They don't ask me whether I want to print this or not but it's just directly printed on the next page of my print job.
This is really annoying since it waste another paper and ink of course, can I disable this annoying feature?
Since I got the wrong packet of ms.word with me (I got it in French when I need English), if you can help me to solve this problem, would you mind to tell me step-by-step menu really clearly ?

Installed the Java patch for MAC yesterday and immediately could not get adobe reader to show pdf files...have troubleshot and can't seem to remedy ...ideas?

I have used the Firefox troubleshooting guides, no good. The Java patch is enabled and shows when I check applications. However when I run Firefox plugins it still shows the java plug in is outdated and need to be updated immediately.

OK, I went to the Firefox knowledge base article you cited and followed the directions with the exception that in the drop down menu I choose Adobe Reader for PDF files rather than the plug in default that apparently was set by the Java patch. Problem solved !!!!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to get me back to the basic place I needed to be to correct this issue. YOU ROCK!!!!

I cannot connect to the iTunes Store running iTunes 8.2.1 for Mac OS X

I have an old eMac (800 Ghz G4) running OSX 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.2.1. For unknown reasons I can no longer access the iTunes Store. It only displays a page about upgrading to 10.3.1, which won't run on my computer. I thought I'd try reinstalling 8.2.1 but the only installer I could find is for a G3.
