That's the most stupid thing. It may work but the phone shouldn't be going off in your ear while in use from the start.

I don't see the "Start new conversation from:" I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes last night on the phone with Verizon. We completely reset the phone after backing it up to icloud. You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.

I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry.

As long as iMessage is enabled and the old phone is connected to a WiFi access point, it will continue to receive iMessage texts. It won't receive non-iMessage texts nor will it receive any calls.

i been trying to purchase music and get into my itunes account but error -1202 won't allow me to get into my account or purchase music. Yes, once the content is in iTunes on your computer, just click it to play and authorise your computer to play it by entering your Dad's ID and password.
Log into your own account and start purchasing your own content which will then be added to the existing content.

I did this several times.... not help. If I run win8.1 safe mode the Itunes stars and mentioned that video and sound driver not fit for them. After this I downgrade the driver to Win7---> not helped after this I update driver to latest--> not helped....

Try a hard reset. To do this, toggle the hold switch on and then off, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may or may not work the first time around, so don't be afraid to try it more than once.

First backup the old phone to iTunes using right mouse click then backup after that restore from backup on the new device .

If your iBook supports Mt. Lion and iCloud and you are correctly signed in to the same iCloud account on your iBook that the iPad is signed into try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
NOTE: You mention iBook in your post but your profile indicates MacBook. Which is it an is it running Mt. Lion?
