Cannot receive calls or texts

I just ported over from Virgin mobile with an iPhone 4s. Now i got the 5s from Verizon and i cannot receive texts or calls. I can send texts and make calls but all calls go straight to a different prerecorded voicemail. How do i fix this?

I am glad to see that you made the move over to Team VZW. We definitely want you to have a great start to your tenure with us. Do you know what the recorded message states when someone tries to call you? What kind of signal are you getting? Can you trying sending a text message to yourself and see if you receive it. Keep us updated on this so we can look into options of resolution.

Cannot Receive Calls and Text Every Morning! Pls Help!!

I am new here. I registered cus i am facing irritating problem with the phone. I dunno if anyone else is facing the same problem.
I cannot receive any calls or sms everyday morning.
My friends told me that it went directly to the voicemail.
However everything back to normal when i make a call out from my phone (basically just need to dail out a number, ppl dun even have to pick up the call!), and it will receive the sms that it missed immediately.
Actually I noticed the fact is that if i dun touch my phone for more than 3 or 4 hours, it went automatically to 'sleep', and it stop receiving calls.....
So now i have to call my landline every morning to active the phone which is so annoying! And my friends went mad too cus they couldn't find me as i was like disappeared.
I don't think its the problem with my carrier cus it all went fine until i updated it in Jan. Its now v5.0.0832.
I have searched other forums and there are some ppl having the similar problem, some said its cus of the "do not disturb" setting, but its no longer exist. So the problem is still unsolved for many others.
Not sure if os 6 is gonna fix it cus there is one personsaid that he still has the prolem although he updated it to 6.
Please please please! Can anyone help me??!! otherwise i may have to get a new phone, i am a bit regret now, i should have bought a iphone4 instead of bb!

Cant send or receive calls or texts

I have an iphone 4s and everything works except I can't send or receive calls or texts. I called at&t and did some troubleshooting and same with apple
support and it works for like 5 minutes then goes back to same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

If your device is showing signal in the status bar and you cannot do what you describe, you need to contact your carrier again. That is a carrier function. Since AT&T did some troubleshooting already, I suggest you check back with them about the possibility of getting a new SIM card.

During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call. So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of. Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message. Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.

Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

IPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 stops receiving calls and text messages

Hi all,
My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) suddenly stopped receiving calls and text messages. However, I'm still able to send them.
The workaround for fixing this issue is to make an hard reset to the iPhone.
This only occured with 5.0.1 version. It's very annoying because I'm not able to know if it's working or not (I can only suppose that it's not working when I'm a long period without receiving calls/messages)
Do you know how to solve this ?

You can call you're carrier and have them unlock it.

Haven't been able to make/receive calls or texts for a month

I've had no service on my phone for a month now and haven't been able to make or receive calls or texts. I've had my phone (iphone 4) for almost a year now, one day it was fine, the next it wasn't. It literally just happened over night. My sim card works fine in other phones so i know thats not the problem.
After an endless amount of phone calls to O2 and no solution to the problem, I've now been told that my phone isn't reading the sim card properly and my phone needs to be sent to Apple. I'd take it to a store but the nearest one is 45 miles away and I don't drive so it's not very easy to get to. Also, as i bought it from a different website and not from an apple store and don't have any proof of purchase or warranty, would they still be able to fix it for me?
I recently went to Spain and while I was there my phone worked perfectly and I could call and text as usual, but as soon as I got back to the UK it stopped working again which suggests to me that it's nothing to do with my phone, as it was able to read the sim card fine in another country. Would I achieve anything by getting it unlocked and changing to another network?
Has anybody encountered anything like this before or have any solutions to the problem? After a month of this i'm at my wits end!!

I bought the phone on november the 1st 2011 and it has worked perfectly until the end of last month when it started saying 'no service', and no this didn't occur during an update or restore. I don't make many calls or send texts a lot so I don't know when exactly when it did happen but I know it was working on september the 28th and it wasn't on september the 30th, I didnt update, restore or anything. When I bought it, (cant remember exactly where i bought it but it was an online shop), it was sold as being on the O2 network.
I contacted the network and they said they could unlock it, so maybe i'll try it on the Orange network instead as I managed to use that without any problems in Spain.

Brand new 5s- sometimes phone numbers display when receiving calls and texts instead of contact name. Hard to know who is calling/texting! A few times I've tapped on the text message icon and I can actually watch as the conversations turn from showing just numbers to the contact names. Same thing when looking at call history and voice mail- sometimes it shows numbers and then I'll go back and the contacts will be back. So frustrating!

theroamer Having issues with signal is definitely not how we want you to experience wireless service. We take this very seriously because just like you I use my cell phone for everything and recently eliminated my home phone. I would love to help you with this issue, so lets get started. I show you are in an area that has great coverage. I do show multiple customers have reported issues in your area and a few weeks ago, it shows the issue was resolved. You advised that you cant get calls inside your home. Have you always had signal issues inside the home? If you step outside your door, can you make a call, send text, or access data related functions at all? Have you tried to power cycle the devices or perform a master reset. Before you rest the device, lets try a SIM card removal. Power the device off first and follow these steps http://tiny.cc/2gn6yw . This will reconnect you with the towers. You should have your wife and friend perform the same steps. If you continue to have the issues, try performing the hard reset http://tiny.cc/9in6yw . Make sure all information is backed up first. C5 - when connected to 3g cannot received calls - ...

I do not undrstand why this is going on. I tried to fix it like in a previous post but nothing is happening. Please help, this is very frustrating!
When ever it connects in the internet it cannot receive calls. Is this normal? Will it be fixed with a firmware update? Is nokia aware of the problem? Is it in purpose?Does it happening in more phones?

Not even from Nokia service? I allready sent them an email nothing happens they do not answer.
At least answer "Yes we are aware of this, we will revert with a firmware update as soon as possible" or something like this!!!

Galaxy S4 will not make or receive calls or texts while connected to home wifi?

Recently, My Galaxy S4 will not make or receive calls or texts while connected to my home WIFI. The status bar WIFI icon is highlighted and the Connection Bar icon has 0 bars. When I check the WIFI connection in "settings" the status is connected and shows very strong strength. Any time I try to make a call or send a text I get a "no network error message" and basically I am dead in the water as far as cell phone use is concerned. My S4 is my primary phone for home and business use and is very inconvenient when I am missing calls, etc. I have done a phone reset and removed SIM Card as well as a rest. Please advise.

jlrwillis, I know this would concern me just the same and we definitely want to figure this out for you. How long has this been going on? Since you started experiencing the issue have there been any changes to the device? Software updates, application downloads, or damage to the device? If WiFi is off while at home do you see that you are connected to cellular service? Are you able to make a call that way?

Not sure what's happening with my iphone 4s... From one moment to the next, i cannot recieve calls or text messages! Switching off the phone and switching it back on it solves the problem. But a few days later, it doesn't work again...Not sure what to do...Already soft reset, restored, and nothing! Works for a couple of days and when i less expect my phone is dead.
Is it a problem with the carrier? Is it a problem with iphone? Strange if why it works for 2 or 3 days and then kaput! need to swich it off and on to get it to work again

I want to make sure your husband can use his cell phone. What type of phone does your husband have? Power down the phone and turn it back on along with removing the sim card in this process. Please provide billing zip code to better assist. Keep us updated we are here to help.
