Cannot receive calls

I cannot receive any calls. Everything else is fine. I can call out easily and broadband is okay. When you dial my number you can hear a ringing tone for a second (although nothing sounds out on my phone), then nothing but the engaged tone. i have called 151 and they have done a test on the line and said it was fine. After reading on this forum is it a ring - trip? After following instructions online I have undone the master socket and tested the test socket but it is still the same. There is a loose white wire in there, tried putting it in various holes but still no result. If i need an engineer can this be sorted out without ringing the call centre as I cannot understand what on earth they are saying and their answers are robotic.

I do not undrstand why this is going on. I tried to fix it like in a previous post but nothing is happening. Please help, this is very frustrating!
When ever it connects in the internet it cannot receive calls. Is this normal? Will it be fixed with a firmware update? Is nokia aware of the problem? Is it in purpose?Does it happening in more phones?

Why noone answers???
Not even from Nokia service? I allready sent them an email nothing happens they do not answer.
At least answer "Yes we are aware of this, we will revert with a firmware update as soon as possible" or something like this!!!

Cannot receive calls or texts

I just ported over from Virgin mobile with an iPhone 4s. Now i got the 5s from Verizon and i cannot receive texts or calls. I can send texts and make calls but all calls go straight to a different prerecorded voicemail. How do i fix this?

I am glad to see that you made the move over to Team VZW. We definitely want you to have a great start to your tenure with us. Do you know what the recorded message states when someone tries to call you? What kind of signal are you getting? Can you trying sending a text message to yourself and see if you receive it. Keep us updated on this so we can look into options of resolution.

Cannot Receive Calls and Text Every Morning! Pls Help!!

I am new here. I registered cus i am facing irritating problem with the phone. I dunno if anyone else is facing the same problem.
I cannot receive any calls or sms everyday morning.
My friends told me that it went directly to the voicemail.
However everything back to normal when i make a call out from my phone (basically just need to dail out a number, ppl dun even have to pick up the call!), and it will receive the sms that it missed immediately.
Actually I noticed the fact is that if i dun touch my phone for more than 3 or 4 hours, it went automatically to 'sleep', and it stop receiving calls.....
So now i have to call my landline every morning to active the phone which is so annoying! And my friends went mad too cus they couldn't find me as i was like disappeared.
I don't think its the problem with my carrier cus it all went fine until i updated it in Jan. Its now v5.0.0832.
I have searched other forums and there are some ppl having the similar problem, some said its cus of the "do not disturb" setting, but its no longer exist. So the problem is still unsolved for many others.
Not sure if os 6 is gonna fix it cus there is one personsaid that he still has the prolem although he updated it to 6.
Please please please! Can anyone help me??!! otherwise i may have to get a new phone, i am a bit regret now, i should have bought a iphone4 instead of bb!

Paid for a subscription but cannot receive calls

My year subscription was ending, so I renewed with a one month unlimited world. It shows the payment was delivered. I have logged out of my account and back in like was suggested on the website. People from landlines and cell phones cannot call my number. I can call out to cell phones and landlines, but when they try to call me, they get a busy signal or the call will not go through. I had no trouble with my previous subscription, so I don't understand what's going on.
I use my Skype for work, so am in a bit of a quandry because my clients cannot reach me if there is a problem.

Do you mean an Online#?
To receive calls you require an Online#.
A Call Plan subscription will allow you to make calls - not receive them.
If your issue is with an Online # make sure it is activated.
If it is first check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''. Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from "Only people from my Contacts List". Save and wait for 5 minutes. Log out from your Skype account and log back in. Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone". Save and wait for 5 minutes. Log out from your Skype account and log back in.

I cannot receive coming calls. Calls do not go into voice mail and the greeting is not my voice or the default greeting. This appears to be a common problem, regardless of carrier. If Apple cared, they would monitor the forums and provide answers when possible. Several people I know are replacing their iPhones with other devices. My next phone WILL NOT be an iPhone. iPhones are not worth the price.

Go back and read the term of use you signed up for. There is no Apple here in this user to user forum.
The ability to make or receive calls fall on the phone carrier not Apple or iphone.
Suggest you contact your phone carrier to resolve the issue.
Also stating that your next phone won't be an iphone, doesn't mean anything here, we users don't care what phone you get next.

I updated my 3GS iphone to 5.0.1 cannot receive calls or messages.

I updated my 3GS iphone to 5.0.1 yesterday. I can make calls and send messages, but cannot recieve calls or messages. I called telstra as I instantly thought network problems. My friends and family who are also on telstra have not had network issues. I thought it was strange that this has only occurred after updating my software?? I have restored my phone, reset network settings and still nothing!! Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?

i have since inserted my sim card into an old phone and then put it back in my 3gs and just received 40+ messages.. not sure why its working now, but it is so I'm happy

Jabber for iPhone and iPad cannot receive calls

We currently have Call Manager 9.1.1 and Presence 9.1.1.
I am starting to use the Jabber Client for iPhone and iPad, but am having trouble receiving calls dialed to a particular extension.
If I can go settings for the iPhone Jabber client as an example, I am succesffuly connected to all accounts: IM, Phone Services, Voicemail, and WebEx.
When I go to the keypad, I can succesffuly dial internal extensions and make outbound calls to any numbers and they come accross as using my extension.
When calling the extension, my desk phone rings, but not the Jabber client.
Not sure what could be causing this issue to occur for Jabber not receiving the calls.

Should still work. But would be good to check indial into jabber with the phone unplugged, just for testing purposes.
also, you have checked the partition and configuration on the TAB device is the same as on the deskphone?
Can you attach call manager traces when making a test call and attach to the case. Let us know the extension and device names you have used in the test, and a timestamp of the test.

if you are browsing on wifi you will receive your calls, if you are browsing on edge they will go to voicemail since edge is not capable of simultaneous voice and data

I called my operator and they said they would check....
In fact the next day and for the following 5 days my phone went fine! No missed call mesagges and the phone rang any time i called it from my husband's phone.
Today at about 11:00 am i received a msg notifying me i had 6 missed calls
At this point i think it should be the operator... orrrr.....otherwise i guess a software update would solve the issue

3Gs cannot receive call - special incident

My 3gs has this problem occurred on the 3rd day. Hence i did a restore and the problem went away. However, this problem came back after one week.
I can still make calls, once i made any call, i can receive call straight, after awhile it came back again( cant receive call ).
I've tested with another sim card, it proven it's the phone.
I need a solution for this, dun wanna do a restore every now and then.

I have the same problem, this maybe a coincidence but my battery level started to fluctuate late one night, not thinking anything of it i charged my 3GS up and from full battery it lasted about 4-5 hours the next day with no calls. That night i noticed i was not receiving any calls, i can make calls but no incoming, after playing around by swapping sim cards etc i found it was a problem with the phone. (all night the phone was pretty warm too). After sometime i found that turning on 3G it would receive incoming calls, turn off 3G it would not, i know it is not a reception problem because there is an orange mast at the end of my road and the phone is showing full signal. I never had 3G turned on before so it must be a bug with the phone. The phone is 3 weeks old.

Okay so I barely use the calling/phone app (the one that comes on it) on my iPhone but most of the calls I get are from random people who I do not know who have the wrong number asking for the same people! I block them all I can but they're not always the same number there's different numbers all the time it's extremely annoying and driving me crazy, the one person left a voice mail again asking for the same person so I called them back and they denied they ever called I kept telling them I got a voicemail from that number and they kept saying no one called from that number. I literally cannot take this anymore. I remember seeing somewhere when I was setting up my phone where I can set it so people cannot call you if they're not in your contacts list. Is there a way to do that? If there is could you please let me know and how to do so? I seriously really need this please. I have an iPhone 4s that's on ios 7.1.2 if that helps any. Thanks so much.
