Cannot receive MMS from other phones?

Hey there. I'm having trouble with receiving MMS messages from my 8800, even from other people on my network(AT&T). I went into the options menu and enabled 'multimedia reception' and 'automatic retreval', and unchecked all the notificattions and filtering options. The only reason I can see that I'm not receiving messages is because I don't have a MicroSD card in the slot... am I on the right track, or am I totally off the mark?

Hi LegendaryKA8,
Welcome to BlackBerry world.
Did you try sending MMS from your device? Was it successful? Alternatively check with your operator that they've provisioned MMS for you.

Hello I send imessages to a phone number I receive delivery notice but sms does not show on receiving phone. Otherwise when receive imessage from other phone I reply and receiver sees SMS !!! Any explanation ?

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone.

Why can't I receive sms from other phones ?

Try going to setting->general->reset-> reset network settings. And see if that works.
You may also want to contact your carrier and see if there is anything funny going on with your profile.
Best of luck let me know if this helps.

  • Cannot receive anything from other bluetooth sources

    Hi,
I have blackberry 9630 tour and am using CDMA service from Reliance, India. The most amazing thing I encountered in recent days is: I cannot transfer anything from other mobiles using bluetooth. My bluetooth handsfree  and audio is working fine. When I tried confirming with my SP-Reliance they gave me the astonishing answer that this cannot be done. You can only use this facility with other BB handset i.e my 9630 can communicate with opnly other BB's and not any other phones.
I find it hard to believe, but searched in the internet, there were some similar posts with identical problem of mine but without any  siolutions.
Just wondering how can this be true by any means? Why the other mobiles are able to pair with my handset but fail to send anything.........
    Best,

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Thank you for posting your solution. But, to clarify, a BT enabled BB can, by default, receive files via BT...it is simply that they are not automatically received by the BB; one must execute the "Receive using BT" command before initiating the send from the other device.
    Cheers!

  • Don't receive MMS from other carriers (such as Virgin Mobile USA)

My mother has a camera phone from Virgin Mobile USA and sometimes likes to send MMS pictures to me on my BlackBerry (MetroPCS). The problem is, I've never received any. I have also sent MMS to my Berry from my Virgin Mobile phone with the same results.
I do receive picture attachments in email on my Berry, which I suppose is a way around the problem, but am really curious as to why I would not receive MMS pictures.
I am able to send MMS from my BlackBerry such as to YouTube's email upload service.
I disabled the option to block MMS from anonymous numbers as well, so am at a loss.
    Thank you.

Check with you carrier support to know whether intra-operator MMS is supported or not.

  • HT4528 The new iOS6 allows you to send/receive messages from other phones linked to your iTunes account which is great for checking on my kids but I dont want them to be able to add my phone to their messages.  Is there a way to block from being added to

I updated to the iOS6, and it allows you to view and send messages with any phone on iOS6 and linked to your iTunes account.  You can unselect phones so they dont go out through the phone, but is there a way to block other phones from adding yours?  Example, I don't ind being able to see what my son is sending/receiving on his phone but I don't really want him to be abe to add my phone and see all my messages...

Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee
    good luck

  • Cannot receive files from other brands of phone through Bluetooth.

Hi, I'm having trouble with Bluetooth on my 8320 curve. I can Bluetooth music and picture files to Sony ericsson phones, but when these phones try to Bluetooth these types of files to me, even after pairing has been achieved, and passkeys entered etc., a message comes up on their screens saying that the 'connection has failed'. This has happened every time any files have been sent to me.
Could anybody help me with this? Many thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.
Good luck and let us know!

  • HT4623 Since my update on my 5s I cannot receive messages from other iPhones. They all have to be sent by text. Why?

Since my 7.1 update I do not receive messages unless they are sent as text.

    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    Symptoms
Learn how to resolve issues with the Messages app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You'll learn what you need to send messages using SMS, MMS, and iMessage as well as how to resolve issues with each method.
    Resolution
Before you start troubleshooting, learn the difference between SMS, MMS, and iMessage. The first step to resolving an issue with iMessage is to update your iOS software and your carrier settings to the latest versions. If iMessage still has an issue, follow the steps below for your issue.
If you can't activate iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID
See how to troubleshoot iMessage activation. If you're using a China Telecom or au (KDDI) iPhone, you can activate iMessage only on your home network. While traveling internationally, you can't activate iMessage.
If you can't send and receive iMessages
You will need these to send and receive iMessages:
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    iOS 5.0 or later
A cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi connection
A phone number or Apple ID registered with iMessage in Settings > Messages
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, followthese steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
If your iMessages didn't transmit as SMS when iMessage was unavailable for use
Go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn on Send as SMS.
Select your phone number when Sending iMessages in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From.
Make sure that you can send SMS with Settings > iMessage turned off.

  • Receiving pics from other phones...

Is there any reason my iphone shouldn't be able to receive pictures sent to my email account if they were sent by another phone like a Treo or Blackberry?

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to receive an emailed photo from a Treo. Blackberrys cannot send photos, however.

  • I am receiving calls from other phones on my iCloud account, and handoff is turned off on both phones. Please help.

Handoff is turned off on both phones and both phones only have their own number checked under send and receive from. Please help.

This is part of Continuity. If both devices share the same Apple ID and are on the same Wi-Fi network, this will happen. To fix, go to Settings>FaceTime>iPhone cellular calls, OFF.

  • Cannot receive texts from other iphones

My texts (incoming) go to messages on my imac but not in my iphone?

iMessages, not text messages as in SMS/MMS.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages. Is iMessage turned on?
If so, go to Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage At:
If your cell phone number is selected for this with Messages on your Mac, is your cell phone number selected for this with iMessage on your iPhone? The same if you have an email address selected for this with Messages on your Mac. Is the same email address available and selected for this with iMessage on your iPhone?
