Cannot receive or send SMS to one contact

Hi all,
This issue has been driving me mad. Up until one month ago I could send and receive sms to this particular contact, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I live in Ireland and use the Vodafone network and my friend lives in the USA and his phone provider is Cricket. First of all we checked to make sure we had not blocked each other then we checked that the International texting was not disabled. I then contacted my provider who said they would look into the issue and the my friend did the same. Both providers said there was no issues with our accounts or SIMS, profiles, plans etc and could not understand why it had stopped working. I have read this forum and have tried the usual remove battery and reboot, delete contact and all messages etc to do with that contact and it still does not work. My provider then came back and said that text messaging was not guaranteed but come on in this day and age????? I can text Australia with no issues. I have tried everything and am getting no real help from my provider.... can anyone come up with a solution for me because this contact would be the person I would text most.... thank you in advance

Valery: What kind of plan are you on Does it include Text Messaging it should but you might want to Check or as Bear pointed out: And Not saying that we can't help you But you might Give Customer Service a Call an have them go over your Account with you an have them Check your Settings on your phone Like the No. that is set up to Work with the Data Part of the Phone. Just to be on the Safe side an it might be a miner factor that's holding up the Messages.
Let us know the Results An i or Bear will try to do what we can to help as much as we can..b33

bought the iphone 5 last month and i am on EE. about 2 weeks ago my phone stopped sending sms to one contact. I receive theirs but they never get mine. ive reset phone back to factory settings, reset network settings, deleted and readded contact and still nothing. EE claim its common problem with iphone 5 on this ios setting but have no info on how to fix it. any help is greatly appreciated.

It says they are sent from my end, no exclamation marks at all. The other person has got a nokia (i think, looks like an imitation of the blackberry) and is on tesco mobile. i have gone through their phone and theyve not blocked me, i can still make calls to them fine. As far as i am aware, this is the only contact they dont send to. I have looked online and have seen some iphone users claiming it is a glitch with the iOS setting??

interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

this may or may not help - but give it a try. On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella. below are the steps this use listed. (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same. In short it looks like their server names have changed. An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.) Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings. (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)

why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3. The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Finally got it to work...hope this helps all the talk21 users out there. if there are any other similar posts out there with no answer...dont forget to mention my name when passing this post around.

Suddenly I cannot receive or send e-mail. Everything has been working just fine until two days ago. I hadn't changed anything in Settings, now I have removed and reinstalled my mail account, with same result though. The only thing I can think of is that when I create my account, my previous job-e-mail adress pops up as default. Maybe it does because when I bought my private MacBook Air and my new iPhone I transferred contacts from adressbook. Anyone recognize this problem?

Who is your email provider? If it's at&t/Yahoo then please be aware that they have been moving subscribers to a new web based email system. While it should not affect POP accounts I experienced weirdness until I activated the new web based system and changed my smtp and POP server information. Now all is well.

I've done that. But the settings "mail, contacts, calendar" are still disabled. For example, if I want to add a new mail account, I can not do it. Because the option "add account" is as if it's turned off, disabled, as well as my other accounts above this ...
The rest of the IOS6 everything worked out, but with the native Mail app is complicated ...

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Cannot receive and send from my FaceTime and iMessage on MacBook Air

Hello,
I Have Macbook Air (13-inch, late 2010) and its updated to OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
processor 1.86 GHz intel core 2 duo
memory 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3
FaceTime and iMessage are not working I cannot receive or send.
my connection is excellent, I turned both of them off and on again on both my iPhone and macbook, all my contacts are synced and everything is fine except that I'm not able to make calls or send and receive messages on my mac.
what should I do ?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test iMessage while in safe mode. FaceTime won't work. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

TS2755 I am frequently unable to send iMessages to one contact.

I am able to recieve iMessages from all my contacts whenever we are both connected to the Internet, but I am frequency unable to send any to one contact, I can recieve her iMessages, but always find it sends via text message seconds later. Has anyone else had this problem before? Do you know how to solve it?

Since ios 4.2.1 I'm not able to send sms to multiple contacts!
When i've added about 8 contacts I'm not able to clivke on the + button. I have to click on "back" and then click on my sms contact list to be able to click on + button... Someone else have this problem? Is it an ios 4.2.1 bug?

I am having the same problem since upgrade to the new ios, however, i am able to get around this by using the keypad and entering the first letter of the next contact. this brings up either the normal contacts list or a scrolling version of the contacts list. This is also causing problems as the scrolling version often extends outside of the menu window and you cannot add contacts at the top of the window as they slide back out of site. this problem is now getting worse as i cannot now scroll the names down at the top of the list. needs a fix

I am having an issue with sending sms to few contacts. it says "not delivered" even before sending. I can receive sms from these contacts. I tried deleting the contact and trying with the number, adding zero at the end of number and deleting the sms thread. Nothing worked for me

I have been getting messages all day from my husband but for some reason I stopped receiving them. He gets mine and I can receive and send messages from other contacts just I do not receive his. I have tested his phone and his contacts are receiving his. Not sure what the problem is. He has a Samsung SII

I would suggest doing a hard reboot on your phone and I would suggest a battery pull on his.
This may clear up a message that is stuck on one of the phones.
