Cannot receive txts on iPhone 4S (from paypal)

I have my PayPal account configured with the SMS text security code feature for logons. I just switched from AT&T to Verizon and I can no longer receive the SMS codes on my new iPhone 4S. I can send/receive SMS messages to others. I tried de-activating the feature within PayPal and tried re-enabling it....but I still cannot receive the SMS message required to initiate the service.
What is up?

This is not a known issue with the iPhone 4S. It is possible that you have a Premium Text Message block on your account which may prevent the PayPal messages from coming through. If this issue has not been addressed already, send me a PM with your name and mobile number. I will contact you and review the account settings.

Cannot receive text messages after switch from iphone

After more than 2 years on an Android, my family convinced me to try an iPhone. After one week, I decided to return my iPhone and go back to Android. Now I cannot receive text messages from anyone using an iPhone. It thinks I'm still using iMessage.
I have already talked with Verizon customer service and unregistered my number from both Messages and FaceTime via my computer. Please help! This is extremely frustrating!

Knowing you are starting to receive them is good, but certainly we want you to receive all of them, not just random ones. I know it’s important to get them up and running as soon as possible. It will usually take Apple 24-48 hours to un-register you completely; if it has not been fully done, what you can try is resetting your Apple ID password here http://bit.ly/1kwc2va . Since you will be changing your password and the original device which still has iMessages on, will not be aware of the new password for them, it will revert to text messages. Let us know how it goes.

HT3529 Since I updated to ios7 I cannot receive pictures on a text from another iPhone

Since updating to the ios7 I can't receive picture on a text from another iPhone any thoughts. It says it's downloading but never does

I'm having the same problem. I have an iPhone 5 and am running iOS 7.
MMS is on, and I can send pictures successfully. But when I receive them, the photo shows up for a split second before it becomes a downloading icon which never changes.
Can anyone help?

Cannot receive SMS on iPhone 4???

I cannot receive SMS on my iPhone 4. It can send but not receive. It may receive only if no Apps Store application installed, or while everything not interacting with the Internet. Send is ok, everything just like it can handle only one single application and no other background process. This started happen after iOS5 release, NOT after installed. After installed iOS5 with a full reset and installation from Apple Service Center, it desn't help, still cannot receive 99% SMS. And they deny to install 4.3.5 or older for me...poor service!!!!!
The netwoek using is PCCW 3G/2G in Hong Kong. Not receiving messages problem is normal on all other Internet application, such as Whatsapp, Yahoo! everything...but now even the SMS...?! iMessage switch on or off, same, cannot receive SMS.......... What do you mean Apple??? You are really kidding... I don't want to buy 4S, anyway, we can't get it ordered nor too much problem on it at this stage.
How the H5LL I can get this super old SMS technology work on my iPhone 4 again??????

Cannot receive iMessages on iPhone

I have an iPhone with iOS 8.1.2 and a MacBook Pro (OSX Yosemite). My problem is the following: I cannot receive iMessages on my iPhone. However, if I send iMessages from my iPhone or Mac, they are received normally and I do receive iMessages on my Mac. The behaviour for text messages (SMS) is normal. Moreover, when somebody (including myself) sends me iMessages, I can see the three dots that appear when somebody is typing long after they stop typing and for a longer period of time.
In order to fix my issues I tried the following:
deactivate and reactivate iMessages
deactivate text forwarding to my MacBook
restarted iPhone
reset network settings on my iPhone
reset all settings on my iPhone
delete conversations and users
removed and re-added Send & Receive addresses
Erase all content and settings
Out of these options only the last worked but only as long as I didn't restore the backup. As soon as I restored the last backup, the problem came back. I cannot figure out whether this is an issue with my iMessage setting on the iPhone, iCloud settings or something else.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem and have my content & settings back?

Cannot receive sms on iphone 5

cannot receive sms. I have done many network setting restores, i have ordered a new sim card from carrier. no change, this problem comes and goes so sometimes i get the message straight away, other times i receive it either when i make a phone call or restart the phone or turn airplane mode on and off.
I have had this problem on all IOS from 6.0 to 6.1.3.

I have no answer but some knowledge to give. I had the same problem and I had to restore my to the factory settings . It worked and no more problems happened . I guess it has something to do with the update. Hope it work.

I cannot receive text on iPhone 4S

Out of the blue, my iPhone 4S has stopped receiving iMessages. I can receive them on my ipad (which has ios7) but I cannot receive them on my phone. I loaded ios7 but not ios7.2(it must have done it automatically. I have no idea what to do HELP!

Ok, I've been doing some testing all afternoon with SMS, using combinations of the iPhone and standard GSM handsets
GSM Tmobile to AT&T GSM - OK
GSM AT&T to GSM AT&T - OK
GSM AT&T to AT&T Iphone - OK
AT&T Iphone to AT&T GSM - OK
Skype SMS to AT&T Iphone - OK
GSM Tmobile to AT&T Iphone - FAIL
This all seemed to start after I upgraded the software to 2.2.
Anyone having similar issues or have a solution?

I recently received my new iPhone 4 from my carrier since my old one was stolen. I restored my new iPhone from my old iPhones iCloud back up but now all the pictures that were stored in my old phone are blurry in my new phone. Please help!

Luckily, using the "Find My iPhone" app, I was able to scare the thieves into bringing my iPhone back to the place they stole it from (Dave and Busters..on my BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS). So now, $169 later (deductible for replacement iPhone), I have both my 1st iPhone and my replacement. On my first iPhone, I have all of my pictures saved and they are very clear, but when I restored my replacement iPhone from my original iPhones iCloud backup, all the pictures that I took in my original iPhone are blurry! I thought about backing up my original iPhone through iTunes and then resetting my replacement iPhone and restoring it from my original iPhones settings but I dont want to lose all of my new pictures I took. I know this sounds confusing (well, it looks confusing, since you cant actually hear me) but I could use all the help I can get!

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

While it could be something with the phone, I believe it should be related to the carrier. Generally any problems with SMS are traced back to the carrier. Call and make sure everything is okay on both ends, you and your husband's accounts. Has he always had this Verizon Blackberry, or at least before the hurricane? Was he able to send you text in the past?

I received old iphone 4 from a friend, unable to sync

I received an old iphone 4 from a friend, had it activated and the phone is working.
When I plug it into my laptop to sync ( I have an ipad before this iphone 4 and had purchased a few apps and songs), the message is preparing to synd and then waiting for changes to be applied and that is it, nothing happens.
I have changed the apple id on the phone to mine, shutdown and restart the iphone 4 but still not working.

I'm sorry, but this post is the first that you said that actually identified the problem. You did not mention music at all in any of the posts, just that you did not want to sync contacts and calendar. Now we have something to work with in trying to help. If you are using a PC, I recommend that you go into iTunes and reset the sync history.
And by the way, at no time did I try to make you sound like an idiot. I asked you what you wanted to sync when you said you did not want to sync contacts and calendar and you didn't even answer that until someone else asked you the question. We are users like you who volunteer our time trying to help others, however, you have to try and be a little more detailed in your request.

I just switched to a Galaxy S 4 from my I phone. I cannot receive texts on the Galaxy from other I phones. I changed my apple ID. I unregistered the old I phone. I reset the I Phone to factory settings. Nothing. Any suggestions?

3G isnt working and I cannot receive or send picture messages...Anyone else having this problem?

On your phone, dial *228
Select option 2 when prompted
Listen to be advised that the update was successful
The device will power off and on (if this is not completed automatically, complete is manually)
Once the device is power back, go ahead and check to see if you are able to send and receive picture messages and that your 3G is working properly. If not, here is a link to additional troubleshooting information:

Cannot send txt messages from my iPhone to a android galaxy gear 3

My husband switched from an iPhone to a galaxy note three and kept his old cell number. Now he cannot receive texts from any other iPhones including mine.
Research on Internet indicates this is common issue when an iPhone user switches to an android device and keeps old number from iPhone! Problem does not happen with new android devices .any workable solution known? So far suggestions in forums have not helped. APPLE store personnel uninformed reissue,as well as Best Buy personnel.

Looks to me like the question has indeed been asked 500 times or more...but still looks to me like many still have unresolved solutions if they have more than one Apple device. I've been attempting to follow advice giving in forum conversations...still, no luck. I had turned off imessage on old IPHONE before, then unregistered my old iphone, but still can not get txt messages from any of my friends who have an iphone...not one. I do have several other Apple devices..an IMAC, an MAC BOOK PRO, an IPAD 2 and an IPAD3 still on my same Apple Account that my old phone was on. Is this now the problem
