  • Cannot receive verification e-mail for apple ID

    Hi there,
I just purchased an iphone. While trying to install new apps, i figured out that i need an apple ID. So I made one through itunes as suggested by the manuals. All seemed to be working fine, up to the point of receiving the verification email. I put the email address I click to send me the email but no mail is delivered. I changed the email address and the same. No mail delivered. I checked the spam, no mail delivered. And I cannot verify my account and I cannot install apps and this is sad for a purchase like this. I also tried to find emails for support but nothing. Can anyone help me? Can anyone tell me what to do or provide me with a mail from apple support to ask them? If someone from the tech support is reading this please assist me. Thank you

  • TS1307 Cannot receive .mac e-mail  on my two older Macs running Mail 2.1.3 on  OSX 10.4.11 since the last weekend.

Cannot receive .mac e-mail  on my two older Macs running Mail 2.1.3 on  OSX 10.4.11 since the last weekend.
Still sends mac.com e-mails and all other "non mac.com" e-mails on "Mail" are working fine incoming and outgoing?
Cannot access via i-cloud on 10.4.11 as told not supported and cannot update for old I-mac as later OS not suitable for processor on imac
Works OK on Macbook air with current OSX
    HELP.....Please??

    IT WORKS!
Though it doesn't tell you this in the password error message, the problem IS the new Apple ID password requirements.
FIRST go to https://iforgot.apple.com/ and CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.  In my case, my old password didn't use at least one capital (upper case) letter, and that was preventing the whole thing from working.  When all the little password criteria lights are green, you're good.  Save as you exit your browser if it asks you to.
Then open Mail, preferences, accounts, and click on the plus sign to create a new account called iCloud Mail.
These are the settings I used:
    Account settings:
    Description: iCloud Mail
    email address:  [email protected]
    Full Name:  John Doe
    incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.me.com
    User Name:  John Doe
password: (enter new Apple ID password)
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.mail.me.com
    Server settings:
    Server port: 587
check box Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) yes, check it
    Authentication:  Password
    User Name: [email protected]
Password: enter new Apple ID password
    Click on Advanced tab:
    Check "Enable this account"
Check "Include when automatically checking for mail
    ignore Compact mailboxes automatically
    Check Automatically synchronize changed mailboxes
    IMAP path prefix: leave blank
    Port: 993
    Check Use SSL
    Authentication: Password
Be sure to save the settings when asked after you close the accounts window.
O.K., this little part may be a complete coincidence, but in mail, nothing happened when I hit "get mail".  Then, when I clicked on the little "broken" icon on iCloud mail on the left, it sprang to life and imported all my mail from iCloud.  However, as I say, that may have been unnecessary and a complete coincidence of timing as I had hit "get mail" previously.
If that doesn't work, try shaking dried chicken bones tied with cat gut over your machine.
    Best of luck!

  • TS3276 cannot receive or send mail, server off line "ssl off" how do I turn ssl on?

Cannot receive or send mail.  Server off line  "ssl off " . how do I turn on ssl?

    Hello there, gillaf.
To turn adjust your SSL settings the following Knowledge Base article will be of assistance:
Mac OS X Mail: About Secure Email Communications (SSL)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25586
    Setting up Mail for SSL
Important: These steps require Mac OS X 10.1.3 or later.
    1. Open the Mail application.
    2. Choose Preferences from the Mail application menu.
    3. Click Accounts.
    4. Select an account name, and click Edit.
    5. Click the Account Options tab.
    6. Click the Use SSL checkbox to enable this option.
Selecting the checkbox will auto-populate the default port numbers. If there is a non-default port number already present, it will not change. You can manually enter a number if your ISP gave you a different port number. Be sure you enter the correct port for your mail server here when selecting SSL, even if it auto-populates a default number.
Note: If SSL is accidentally set up when it should not be, or is configured using the incorrect port for your mail server, an alert box with a message similar to this may appear:
"Fetch Error: Couldn't connect to a POP host name mail.apple.com."
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • I won't receive an e-mail from Apple about changing my security questions

Okay, so I wanted to buy something on iTunes, but then this thing came up, saying since it was my first time buying something on this device, I had to answer my security questions. The thing is, I don't remember them! I made them over 2 years ago, and never had to use them until now. So I signed in onto my account, and pressed "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to r•••••@yahoo.com" I'm not sure if the r*****@yahoo.com appears for everyone, or if it's "my" e-mail account, but just showing the first letter. Thing is, I don't remember making en e-amil account starting with r. My Apple ID is my e-mail account. The one I had when I got my first Apple device. I've always used it for Apple stuff, so why won't I receive an e-mail from Apple about this? I received one when I put my phone number in my payment options just yesterday, and when I changed my password as well, so I don't get why I don't get the imformation about changing my security questions. I really want new songs

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.

I receive many e-mails with zipped files.  I can no longer open or unzip my files. A window welcoming me to Application Loader drops down.  It prompts for an iTunes Connect login, but will no accept my iTunes login. I have no way to open or unzip my files. Help!!!!

Application Loader, unless there's another one I'm not familiar with, is part of the iOS SDK. That have usurped the .zip, or you may have removed that application but your Mac is still holding onto the mapping of Zip files to that application. Select a .zip file in Finder, Get Info, and go to the Open with section. Select Archive Utility and click Change All. That should fix the problem.

  • HT1657 cannot rent movie on itunes with apple tv

cannot rent movie on itunes with apple tv it tells me to go to itunes store on my desktop and everything is upto date here

    Yes that's perfectly possible.
The drawback is the rental needs to completely download before it will stream to the Apple TV.
The advantages are it can then be watched on any Apple TV if you have more than one and can be watched as many times as you want (within the rental period) without needing to redownload it everytime.

  • I received an e-mail from apple store asking for billing information update. Is this legitimate

I received an e-mail from apple store telling mr that my account billing information is out of date. Is this legitimate

If it has a link than most likely no. For example
It has come to our attention that your billing information is out of date. To fix this, refer to the link below
That is most likely a scam and you should not click on it. It would help if you provided a copy of the email, just to be sure.

  • Problem to receive mail with Apple Mail client

Apple Mail cannot receive mail. Mail is sent without any problems. I thought that it may have to do with my iPhone but when it is shut down I still get this error.
The error message that I get is:
    Unable to Receive Mail
The mail server denied access to the account "xxxxxxx" because an administrator or other mail client was using it when Mail tried to log in. Please try again later.
The server error encountered was: Unable to lock maildrop: Mailbox is locked by POP server.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?

I determined the problem had to do with other computers configured with POP (same account) locking the mailbox. Moral of the story is to just have one computer configured with POP and all the rest with IMAP.

  • Cannot get or send mail using Apple Mail on iPhone and iPad

Everyone in my household cannot get or send mail on their Apple Mail for iPad and iPhone. We all get the same message: "The user name or password for [account] is incorrect." This just started happening yesterday afternoon. No problems before that. I called my hosting company and Apple, and both blamed the other. My Apple system is always updated, so I have the latest version of Maverick. Had no problems with it up until now.
However, I awoke this morning to find downloaded emails in the same program, but when I go to "get mail," it says the same thing, and still won't allow me to send or receive.
Here's the kicker. I also use Gmail with the exact same accounts (yes, I need both since Apple Mail does things that Gmail doesn't, and vice versa). No problem! I get all my emails and can send with no problem. So, my hosting company claims it can't be them (makes sense). It only happens using Apple Mail, and I have several email addresses. None of them work (other than the strange phenomena of suddenly getting some of them downloaded for no apparent reason).
What do I do from here? I've changed passwords, deleted and tried to set up my emails, only to get the message that they probably will not work. And they don't. I have shut down and restarted my iPad and iPhone, to no avail.
Thank god for my Gmail account, or my business would be closed.
Again, this is happening on four devices in my home: 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.

I have a comcast account I use on my phone and use it for receiving and sending mail. When you look at the account in settings, you need to check each of these
    incoming mail server: mail.comcast.net
username: the part of your email address before the @
    password: your password
    outgoing mail server: smtp.comcast.net
    Under Advanced
    Use SSL: On
    Authentication: Password
    Server Port: 995
If you cannot make it work from changing settings in the account, delete the account and start over. Use the "Other" setting when starting the account. It is a POP3 account and make the entries I gave you. Once you do that, it should check the entries and validate the account. You shouldn't have any trouble from there. Those settings will work from either the iPhone on cell, or wireless. Mine will even work when I'm at home on my wireless there, which is on the Comcast network.
    Hope that helps you.

  • HT4098 Received strange e-mail from Apple but why?

I was sent an e-mail about subscriptions by Apple. The e-mail from Apple contained a link to this page. I read it and tried to find more info in iTunes but I don't have the Subscriptions entry in Settings. What the eff is up here?
Matter of fact yesterday I ordered a subscription for a weekly magazine which is available in the App Store (Der Spiegel from Germany) but the ordering process happens outside of any Apple gear. I actually used my Windows computer's web browser and the magazine's web site to order the subscription. Could this be causing the e-mail I received?

Thanks for the links but none of these information does really fit to this mails:

  • Received unauthorized e-mail from Apple

I received an e-mail purportedly from Apple today with this text:
    Dear Customer,
Your Apple ID was used to purchase Tribal War App on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with this Apple ID. .
The download was initiated from AR , United States.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not make this purchase, we recommend that you go to https://itunes.apple.com/ref-082736 to cancel the transaction, Confirm that you're the owner of the account and then follow the instructions.
    Regards,
    Apple
The link opens a window asking for all my info - Apple ID, password, address, credit card info. Obviously this is a scam, but it looks legit until you start thinking about what it's asking for.
I'm guessing this is just spam, and without my entering any info, the sender doesn't have access to my account. But is there a way to be sure my account is still safe?

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.
