Cannot recover 'file' please try opening it using the file menu

Hello,
we have had some issues with document corruption in inDesign, a user this morning received the following error:
Cannot recover 'filename.indd'. Please try to open it unsing the file menu.
The file 'filename.indd' has been changed since adobe inDesign last quit (Error code: 11)
When the user uses the file menu to open it it works fine
I have googled this message but not found any information on it.
Does anyone know what this means or how to resolve it? Does it give any clues as to why the users are having problems with documents getting corrupted.

How do I set the Home Page for a newly open tab using the File Tab Menu??

When I open a new tab, is there a way to set the home page the new tab will use when it is opened, or will new tabs always be opened as blank pages?

I have new windows opening when I click on a link. Or when I click on the FF-Icon. New windows are the default setting.
When a new window opens, I get a Google home page and can instantly type in a search phrase.
With the above in mind, sometimes I want to keep search classes in the same window. In a sense I'm using the Window with no tabs, to generate a tab by using the File Tab option.
When a Tab is selected where new windows will launch a new page, and not a new tab, the process of forcing a new tab onto the window will produce a tab page that is Blank, and the new tab label description displayed in the tab area shows the words "New Tab". That tab's URL address bar is blank. Zip - nothing displayed.
When a blank page tab appears, I click on the HOME button you helped me remodel, and the "New Tab" description in the tab label area changes from "New Tab" to "Google".
My question was to ask, if there was a way I could do something to make FF4 do that Home page assignment on its own. In the early FF days I found you could sometimes go into the bowels of FF, find some form of INI or SETTINGS type file, look for a Keyword reference that would tell FF to do something different, and Viola, emotional issue resolved. In this case, I'm trying to "Gild the Lilly" by asking if you, or someone else might have a rabbit they can pull out of their hat, just like you did when you helped me move my Home button, and have that rabbit show me how to do something that default FF-Options section doesn't support.

Can the file extension be removed when using the File Special Field?

I placed a Special Field on the top of my topics that gives
me the filename for that specific topic. I used the Insert >
Field > Special Field > File and the File Name is inserted
where I want it. The problem is that i don't want the file
extension to show, just the name. I can't figure out how to do
this...Any suggestions....anyone? Maybe a Script or an applet? Any

what you suggested but the problem is that whatever I modify it
automatically puts it back like it was as soon as I try to save it.
This is probably because I used the Insert Special Field commands
from the Menu. It automatically places this on the code:
017.htm
Where 017.htm is the actual name of the file for the specific
topic. This means that it's apparently doing this on the background
somewhere I can't see and inserting the value on the code for the
topic...

When I try to open an in InCopy document I get this error message:
At this point I am not able to perform any action because InCopy is stuck.
Then if I click “OK” I get the following one talking about InDesign which I do not even have installed:
Then if I click “OK” InCopy crashes…
I have tried to save the InCopy document before opening as a text editor and paste it in a new InCopy file but I just get a bounch of coding. I cannot convert into anything that makes sense...it just spits out thousands of pages with jibberish.
I have tried to make a copy of the document before opening and open the copy, but the problem persists. Does anybody have experienced the same issue?

Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

Is you library a "referenced" or "managed" library:
That message is generated when a library is a "referenced" library and the location of the files have been moved from where they were when originally imported into iPhoto.
Are the photos that this is happening to in the same Event(s)?
What system are your running? Where is your library located? How much free space do you have on your boot drive?

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Since you've shown us the folder contents it's a good bet it isn't in use (no lock file). And it doesn't look like the file is mis-named as there doesn't seem to be anything else there that would be the .indd file (but just in case, open it in TextEdit and paste the first few lines here so we can see what the file header says), so the most likely case is the file is damaged. Is that on a removable device of some sort?
You can try the tool at Repair corrupt InDesign Adobe files on Mac OS X or send me a link to the file by private message and I'll try the recovery tool I have for Windows.

I created a site column at the root of my site and I have publishing turned on. I selected the Hyperlink with formatting and constraints for publishing.
I went to my subsite and added the column. The request was to have "Open in new tab" for their hyperlinks. I was able to get the column to be added and yesterday we added items without a problem.
The problem arose when, today, a user told me that he could not edit the hyperlink. He has modify / delete permissions on this list.
He would edit the item, in a custom list, and click on the address "click to add a new hyperlink" and then he would get the error below after succesfully putting in the Selected URL (http://www.xxxxxx.com), Open
Link in New Window checkbox, the Display Text, and Tooltip:

and I saw in another post, below with someone who had a similar problem and the IISreset fixed it, as did this problem. I wonder if this is resolved in the latest updated CU of SharePoint, the April 2014 CU?

We had the same issue after applying the SP2 & August CU. we open the case with MSFT and get the same resolution as you mentioned.
I blog about this issue and having the office reference.
Later MSFT release the Hotfix for this on December 10, 2013 which i am 100% positive should be part of future CUs.
So if you apply the April CU then you will be fine.

I have Iphone4 brought from at&t USA(carrier locked) and i am in india now, i contacted at&t and requested for an unlock for me to use with indian carriers.
I got an email confirming the unlock has been completed from at&t and asked me to connect the device to itunes and do a back&restore, after the restore process i get an error message on itunes "your request cannot be processed, please try again after sometime" i tried it with my airtel sim card and also at&t sim card but did not work. I contacted at&t and they confirmed that the unlock request was successful but i still get the same error.

Excuse me. I am on a contract with O2 with an iphone 4s, suddenly xmas day it said "no service", took it to o2 who sent it to apple factory who refused to repair it because a screw missing. I wouldnt know have never opened phone in my life,wouldnt know how to, then went direct to Apple Regent St London who also said "screw missing, warrenty void, then produced a phone just out of contract due to upgrade,a vodaphone carrier 3gs, it was unlocked but then told by apple the owner had to go to vodaphone and get it unlocked on their books which could take up to 48 hours, it is now 72 hours later and i have the same error despite backing up old phone with i tunes and i cloud,am very angry and am paying alot for a contract every month, all i can see is "no service and waiting for activation" and all ths started when I upgraded to IOS 6.Am extremely upset and still under warranty but no one seems to want to help me to connect to WiFI, i cannot keep going to Apple Regent Street at lunchtime and be shooed of with excuses, this replacement phone 3gs should work and it doesnt. When I have seen this message it is either when I try to open a document with an older version of Indesign E.g. an indesign 2014 document with Indesign CC.
The other time I have seen it is to open an Indesign CC document with Indesign 2014 which does not have Mindsuite - a plugin I use. Mindsuite, as yet, has not upgrade the plugin for Indesign 2014 therefore it recognises that a the document was created withe a plugin that the 2014 version does not have installed.
I believe your problem will be something like that.

That choice is not made by Adobe, but your browser, of which you give no details. 64-bit browsers cannot open PDF files, as the Adobe Reader plugin is a 32-bit app.
