cannot redeem itunes card on ipod touch? Screen jumps before I finish typing in code!

I've the same problem. ipod running iOS 5.1.1, when I go to redeem the screen would say "Loading ..." and then kicks me back to the Redeem screen again. Many times, this would happen even before I finished entering the code. Reboot and resetting does not help.

Could be a counter feit card, but most likely you are reading/entering it wrong. Anyhow, the iTS can sort it out, though you may have to scan in the back of the card and send it in:

I was wondering if you could use itunes cards to buy music from the itunes store on the touch. I messed around with mine buy didn't see the option to enter a code. Thanks.

no no, you have to sign on via itunes on your computer and fill totally the apple form with a valid credit card...so your itunes (on the mac or pc) have the possibily to buy...
when you sinc your ipod, the unit is ready to buy, and when you access on WIFI music store and clic on "buy" the ipod tell you your PASSWORD based on itunes (on computer) profile id...:)

I bought an App Store card. I bought a new iPod as well. I tried to redeem the App Store card by entering it into the App Store redeem text box but when I enter the code it tells me this iTunes Apple ID has not been used in the iTunes store before and that I should review the TOS. So I review the terms, agreed to them and then I am taken to fill in the information which actually is pulled from my Apple ID along with my App Store card code. When I hit next it tells me I must contact iTunes support to complete the transaction. iTunes support has answered me three times stating that they cannot give me any more information other than the fact that I am violating iTunes terms of services.
All the information in my Apple ID is correct, I am in the US I am 18 years or older and my address is correct.
No matter if I try to regain in the App Store or in the iTunes store or if I go to settings on my iPod and enter the Apple ID in the iTunes and App Store account settings. The result is always the same.
What else can I do?

Sometimes it's so much easier to have a card on the account

Seems pretty obvious to me. You can redeem credit only in the store/currency that it was purchased in.

You can only sync with one computer. I would backup to one computer and then restore from backup.

After numerous attempts I still cannot redeem ITunes gift cards to the ITunes store so I can download content onto my PC
It is running Windows Vista.
I receive "We could not complete your ITunes store request. An unknown error occurred. (-1202) Please try again later."
I have gone to my controll panel and made sure the date and time is correct. They are correct.
I have unchecked the advanced internet properties setting "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication."
I have restarted.
Still cannot redeem ITunes gift cards at the ITunes store.
What can I do to redeem these cards ???????????????????

I'm having the same problem, Jay. Its been like that for asong as I can remember (at least a month). I've not been particularly bothered, but I've got a voucher too and its rather annoying. Doesnt appear to be everyone, just a select minority of users. If anyone does have an answer it would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you!

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here. I've asked the hosts to change the title of your post as it appears to include the card number.
You've tried logging out and back into your account to see if the amount from it has been added to your account ? If it isn't then was the card complete when you bought it i.e. the part that you scratch off to uncover the code was still on the card ? If it was, and you've double-checked that you are entering the correct code, then try contacting iTunes Support (they might want images of the card and the receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

Try taking a photo and expanding it. There is also an app called Mag Light that is good at magnifying small script.
It may be scratched out because it has already been redeemed. That's what I do with mine.

I don't know if i can help you since i am answering this "late", but maybe someone will be able to read this, the only way to use it is going to iTunes on your PC and then going to "iTunes Store" then click "Country" and change it to USA -or- the country you bought it, preferely USA, then you will need to put a Billing Adress from USA (For example), you can put whatever you want by searching a phone / zip code on google.
Then you will be able to redeem your card.

Cannot connect to iTunes store via iPod Touch...

Whenever I try to go to itunes store thru my ipod I always end up with a box that says "Your request could not be completed". Whether I click on music or videos or podcasts its the same result. But for some reason iTunes U seems to work, but nothing else. What is going on? I tried resetting my settings but still not working. I can access itunes and store thru my pc with no problem but wont work with ipod. I'm using ipod 3g 32gb and its not jailbroken and it has 4.0.2.

I don't think it's a network problem for several reasons. First, I have the exact problem at home and at three WiFi hot spots (McDonald's, the Apple Store, and a shopping mall's network). Second, all other apps that access the Internet are working fine. Third, it's only parts of the App Store and iTunes that don't work. For example, the Update button in the App Store still works but the Featured button still doesn't.
I then went to the Apple Store today and the tech had the exact same problems even after wiping it clean and using their account. They ended up replacing my iPod even though the problem continued on the new one, which hadn't been synced with anything.

Yea, I just checked iTunes and some features are working again. Like you, I now I assume the problems are on their end.
