Cannot redownload trial after system restore

I had downloaded CC along with Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects as trial versions, and they launched fine with no problems. However, my computer went through a system restore (to an earlier date) and now those programs are no longer on my computer. CC is still installed, and it keeps acting like it's updating all three, but it wont launch any of them; and they don't show up as programs in my control panel (0 results from a search).
I thought that I could solve this with a simple redownload from the website, but apparently it thinks I still have the programs installed, and refuses to do so. Any idea what I should do? My trial is wasting away!
I am running this on a PC with Windows 8.

Hi hmiller61615_,
Please run the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool ( http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html ) to remove all/any CC Products installed.
Also remove the Adobe Application Manager. Download the AAM from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
And then install the products.

  • Re-installing Captivate 6 Trial After System Restore

    Hello All,
I installed the Captivate 6 trial (over Captivate 5.5) last Friday with 0 problems. This weekend I had major issues with my video card driver after changing my resolution and scaling in the Catalyst Control Center. After the system restore - which set back to last wednesday - , I was able to update everything else that needed it. When I tried to re-install the Captivate 6 trial, I was able to get all the way to the Initializing Installation window. The green bar filled up (towards the end it got really slow) and once it was filled up, the window disappeared and nothing else happened after that. I tried deleting the files I had and re-downloading. I made sure my flashplayer was updated (it wasn't) and tried it again. Same issue. I restarted my computer a few times. That didn't help. It gets to that same place each time and won't go any further. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?
I spent almost the entire day in chat/on the phone with an Adobe Tech who literally could not help me. I thought maybe I'd find a Captivate 6 file sitting in my registry, but I haven't seen it (I checked the Adobe folders). It's not installed, so I can't go and uninstall it, I looked in the Control Panel for it. I'm kind of stumped. I'm assuming that a critical file either got corrupted during the restore OR a critical file went missing during the restore, but I'm not tech savvy enough to know what to look for or where I should be looking for it.
Thanks for any help you can give,
    Obsidiangel1982

  • After system restore i reinstalled firefox, how to get back bookmarks etc with old firefox data?

After system restore the only thing i have is old firefox data on desktop if all bookmarks, passwords are recovered it will be great help.
    P.S
i reinstall firefox from drive other than c ,that was in downloaded form.
    Thanks

The "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop has been created as the consequence of resetting Firefox.
Doing a Session Restore may have reverted the profiles.ini file to a previous version that hasn't registered the new profile folder that a reset had created, so you may need to check for this.
    * C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
If you have a profile folder that is more recent than the "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop then you can use edit the profiles.ini file and change the path of the currently default profile to the name of the profile folder as you find in Document and Settings.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
It is always best to be cautious with using System Restore as this can cause some file to be replaced with older copies, i.e. your Firefox installation and profile folder can get inconsistent and you may have to reinstall Firefox as well.

you may need to check the transfer structures,
right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,
click 'transfer', move the 0BASE_UOM from left to right side,

  • How to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

how to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

    Hi,
You can reinstall them from Recovery Manager by clicking on Start=> All Programs.
If you have performed a complete HP Recovery using F11 then all the software should be there. If you have performed a minimized recovery then you can install applications from recovery manager...If none of these works then you'll need USB recovery..
Here are the links that will guide you through the process:
Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
    Order USB Recovery
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Cannot uninstall Premiere Pro CC after system restore

I uninstalled Premeire Pro CC last week. Shortly after, my computer had a bug that wouldn't allow me to restart without restoring myPC to an earlier point. This re-installed Premeire, but now I can't uninstall it. I get this message: Uninstall failed. Your uninstallation encountered errors.(No error number is given.)
Running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion g series laptop.
I never use this program and it's slowing down my computer. Tips?

Run the cleaner script, reinstall and then uninstall. Won't fix your problem, though. Programs that are not launched do not consume any processing power or memory. Your slowdown has another cause, which could by all means be the mess that triggered the system restore in teh first place - flakey drivers, incompatible apps, misbehaving security tools or simple lack of overall "juice" on your system.

  • CS3 won't start after system restore, fails to reinstall

I am running CS3 design premium on Windows 8. I've have the computer (Lenovo with Intel i5) for two months, though I used the design suite on my previous computer. I had to run System Restore to fix a problem with Firefox, and after I did none of my Adobe products worked. I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times while following the Adobe Help page "error message at installation" guide. Each time I get the message that Acrobat installed correctly, and everything else "Component install failed." I also wiped everything Adobe off the program list (there were a few CC programs I had trialed, plus Flash Player and some plugins) ran the CC cleaner and still got the same error message. I even tried downloading the program files from Adobe in case there was a problem with my disk and that wasn't it either. I tried enabling FLEXnet and installing under a new user, each to no avail. Examining the log file found no instances of "Return value 3" and "FATAL." The search for "ERROR" found several items that I had either already tried or made no sense.
I ran the system restore again to an earlier point, and now I can't even uninstall anything. The CC cleaner tells me some files could not be cleaned, and I should close my browser and try again, but there are no browsers open. Restarted computer and tried again, same thing. It seems I've tried all the options.
    Super frustrated.

  • Start and Start apps don't work after System Restore

Hey guys, I tried to install Andy (Android emulator) on my PC today and I had to reboot after the setup was complete. This time when booting up, my computer froze before login screen. I've restarted the computer several times, but no login screen.
So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old) and voila, everything works like it should...
Except for Start menu, Cortana & search bar and notifications. Restarting explorer.exe didn't fix the problem. Even Start menu apps like Music or Store don't work... Only way to open the Settings app is to click on my network connection icon. Help please!
    I'm using build 9926

..............So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old)...............
It is possible that you are missing the updates that were installed in that 2 days. You rolled back 2 days, now you need to reinstall those updates.
If you cannot use Start Menu, please follow this instruction given by Insider Hub......
Checking for updates may fix this problem. To check for updates without the Start menu, do the following:
    Select the Internet Explorer icon.
Type http://update.microsoft.com into the address bar and select
    Enter.
If you are prompted to run a control, click
    Yes or Confirm
This should bring up the Check for updates window. Install updates.
If no update is available, or the available updates don’t fix the issue, restart the device–this should make the Start menu appear. To reboot without using the Start menu:
Hold down the Windows key and select L to lock the device. Swipe up or select
Enter to open the sign in screen. Select the
Power icon on the log in screen to restart the computer.
    OR
Hold down the Windows key and select R to bring up a command prompt. In the prompt, type
    shutdown –r to restart
    Good luck.

  • Missing Apps after System restore

Yesterday I did a System Restore on my iPhone 3Gs and now all of my Apps are missing. After this I tried to do a Restore from backup again but I still have the same problem.
I don't have Sync Apps ticked in iTunes as if I do it will sync all apps and there is a mix of iPad and iPhone apps there. For some Apps there are separate iPad and iPhone versions and I'm not sure if this will cause any problems.
Is there a way to have the apps restored to the same folders they were in before? I know I can sync selected apps from iTunes but I spent a lot of time organising all of my apps into folders and I'm hoping to avoid having to do that again. When I tick "Sync Apps" but before actually going ahead iTunes shows 10 screens of Apps and none are in folders as they were before.
I thought that doing a restore from a backup that I did just before the restore would have restored the phone exactly as I had it before.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

No iTunes content including 3rd party apps are included with your iPhone's backup. If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes along with the apps selected below that you want available on your iPhone - which can be placed in folders with iTunes followed by a sync, iTunes does not know which apps you had installed on your iPhone. With Sync Apps selected along with the apps in your chosen folders, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone will be restored in this regard. After restoring as a new iPhone or from the backup, this must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content including 3rd party apps to your iPhone. What is selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences will be pre-selected prior to the initial sync with iTunes after the restore, and the apps will be transferred back to the same folders as before. Your mistake in this process was not having Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab. With this selected, after downloading an app direct with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If there is an iPad only app that you select to be transferred to your iPhone, a warning message will be provided with the following sync indicating the app cannot be installed on your iPhone. You can create your app folders with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • Itunes won't open after system restore!

Recently I ran into some problems with my computer and did a system restore, ever since I did that itunes would not open and kept saying "itunes has encountered an error, application is shutting down" after I double clicked the icon on my desktop. This was also the case with Windows Media Player and every other application on my PC.
I set my PC away to be re-formatted. It turns out there were 17 viruses on there, it's now working fine except I can't open itunes!!
I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it. It all goes fine until the very last second of installing when I get the "itunes has encountered an error, application is shutting down" message. The shortcut appears on my desktop though and when I double-click it I get the very same error message!
Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I've spent £150 on sorting my computer out and this is the final straw! I'm tearing my hair out!!

    iFOUND the Solution!!!
Go to Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel and for every program that is Apple - iTunes - Quicktime related RIGHT click on it and choose "Repair" and repair it. May take some time for each program.
Then, I got an error message saying:
"the file "itunes library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes."
Here, from the Start Menu, search "Apple Software Update" and update every program it says needs updating. I recently this week updated Quicktime to its latest version, but did so anyway. So I updated Quicktime and iTunes...restarted computer...and it worked.
That's how you do it. iTunes 10.5 works fine now. Hope it does equally well for you.

  • ITunes not opening after system restore

I was having issues with opening iTunes after I upgraded to the latest version. So I did a system restore and now when I try to open it, I get a pop-up that says "The file "iTunes LIbrary.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." What does this mean and how can I fix it?

If you have an HP, you need to goto Hp.com and download a patch for your model of PC, alot of there PCs have issues with iTUnes after using there software to do a restore. If you have another brand, check there site.
You can also try uninstalling iTunes AND quicktime, disabling antivirus and downloading/installing the latest iTunes from apple.com

  • Can't activate after system restore and reinstall

I recently installed adobe acrobat pro on my laptop, everything was working perfectly until I faced another unrelated issue that meant I needed to perform a system restore to a point before I had installed adobe acrobat.
After the system restore obviously my registry had been rolled back quite a bit and so I needed to reinstall acrobat. After reinstallation (downloaded the installer from the acrobat site on my acrobat.com account and let it install the same as last time) when I launch acrobat I get an error that my acrobat subscription cannot be validated.
This is the only PC I have installed acrobat on so it doesn't seem to make sense, even if it considered this to be a new installation then it should at least activate as my second installation.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am not familiar with the limitations on the subscription set, but you may have to contact Adobe and explain the issue. It may be they have to reset your activation or whatever is done with the subscription. Typically when you start, you would be asked to provide your ID that you used to purchase Acrobat.

  • "NTLDR is compressed" error after system restoring to earlier time point

After performing a system restore  via ThinkVantage Restore/Recovery, I now cannot reboot my T61 -  error message is "NTLDR is compressed  Press Ctrl+Alt Del to restart " ...  Suggestions I found online require the recovery CD to allow usuage of the recovery console, but I am having a difficult time locating this disk (and am not sure the T61 even came with it).
If anyone has recommendations, I would be very, very grateful !!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear this, but RnR gives you an opportunity to create recovery discs, this is first and foremost thing to do after getting your system:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70804

Most importantly, it also avoids the pain of purchasing them from lenovo, if you're under warranty then try calling them with your problem, they'll most probably send them to you for free, otherwise you'll need to buy 'em from them.
    Hope it helps.
