Cannot register active-x controls

Since Saturday when I was asked to upgrade | have been trying to use Flash Player in IE to no avail. I have followed all the information and uninstalled and installed again until I am blue in the face. This has got to be one of the worlds worst attempt at an upgrade on an essentila element of nearly all websites.
Can you offer any help as to how I may proceed. Flash works ok on Safari but not at all on IE or within other programmes such as BBC iplayer.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate with all current upgrades
The error message I persistently get advises that it is not possible to register and the support recommends manually changing the registry to allow the registration to occur, I am not comfortable with that option. If anyone has any advice please let me know. I will be away overseas for a number of days - until Friday next and may not respond immediately.
Thanks
Apologies if this is a repeat request but I have tried all other options

We don't know what you have already tried, so my suggestions may be repetitions of what you have already done.
Download the executable installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe and save it to disk.
Close all browser windows, temporarily disable your antivirus software, then run the installer.
If this still fails, right-click on the downloaded installer, then 'Run as Administrator'.

This machine is a member of an active directory domain, and I've tried using both the domain administrator account and the local administrator account.  I have completely uninstalled antivirus protection.  I right click and "run as admin" each time I try anything.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted the kill bit registry entry, used the SubinACL/Reset fp10 tools, used secedit to reset registry permissions...
The only things I haven't tried so far are to get a preist to bless the machine...or to sacrifice some goats in my server room as an offering to the IT Gods...
    Please help me...:)

  • I can't get the adobe flash player to install - says can't register active x control

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player a number of times with the same result.
    Firefox version 6.0.2
    Windows XP

Note that FlashPlayer works with both Internet Explorer and other browsers such as Firefox, the plugins required though are different. If you use '''I'''nternet '''E'''xplorer and Firefox you have to install both types of plugin, you possibly have so far only installed the type used by IE.
    * see [[how do I install the flash plugin?]]
You should be using Firefox 7.0.1, Firefox 6 is no longer supported or secure.

  • How do I get Active X control for flash player registered?

I have been having problems with flashplayer.  I continue to get different messages when I try to download.  The latest message is:  Active X control for flash player could not be registered.  What do I do to get the system working?

Looks to be a permission issue.  Do you have administrator priveleges on the machine?

  • Queue is registered and cannot be activated

    Hi all
we have an R3AD  Queue problem. " The queue is registered and therefore cannot be activated"
The status of the queue is "RUNNING".
When I try to acitvate it gives message " The queue is registered and therefore cannot be activated"
Can anyone help me out in this case…..

    Hi Harry,
    Check if this is useful.
Maintain the following parameter using transaction SM30 (table maintenance) for table SMOFPARSFA:
    Key : R3A_COMMON
    Parameter Name: CRM_DO_NOT_REGISTER_INBOUND_QUEUE
    Parameter Value: X
    Caution:
This parameter has the effect that the queues R3A, CSA, CRI* or "CDB*" are no longer registered automatically. Ensure that all required objects are registered.
    Award points if useful.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

My desktop fried in a power surge--- I bought a new one---I cannot register my CS2 even though I have the activation code

    Awesome! You're welcome!
Well, I'm not exactly sure. I suppose they may know if you have or have not purchased it since you are probably signed in...Or they figure it's an old enough program, and few enough people know about the serial number, that they don't care too much.

  • Error: "Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated"

    Hello,
A friend has sent me a Powerpoint presentation with an embedded Crystal Xcelsius ActiveX control.
On one of my PCs this displays perfectly, and I was on the point of buying the product when fortunately I got feedback from a number of other colleagues.  Out of the six people I sent the presentation to, only one person could play it.  All of the others experiences this error when opening the presentations:
"Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated"
I searched the forums and came across this rather brief description:
    http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=4360796&sliceId=&dialogID=12028678&stateId=1%200%2012034044
As recommended, I installed Flash Player 9 on one of the affected PCs, but it did not cure the problem.
On request, my colleague sent me versions of the presentation in Acrobat and Word and both of these files play on all the PCs.  So for some reason it's only Powerpoint that won't work.
I'm very impressed with the power and beauty of Xcelsius, but it seems pointless to use something that can't be viewed by most of the people I'd want to see it.
Is there a better description of this problem?  For example:
    - How do I uninstall Flash Player 9?
    - Where do I find Flash Player 8 (couldn't find it on the Adobe site)
    - How do I "uninstall ActiveX"??
    - If the Flash version is the problem, why does it work fine for Acrobat and Word?  Surely this is a Powerpoint issue?
    - If this is such a big problem, why is it not possible to select a target verson of Flash within Xcelsius (I've seen this feature in other Flash converters, such as Camtasia).
    Details:
PCs are all Windows XP SP2
Powerpoint 2003 and 2007, and various combinations seem to share the problem
    Flash Player 9

This is a Flash security issue and compatibility issue. If the dashboard is created and exported from a machine running Flash 9, then anyone who wants to view the dashboard will need to also have Flash 9. One solution would be to make sure everyone you may send it to has downloaded the latest version of Flash. The other would be to downgrade the Flash version on your machine to an older version. Crystal Xcelsius 4.5 requires at least Flash 7. Instructions for uninstalling your current Flash version and installing an older version can be found on Adobe's website. http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
Another cause of the error, could be the end viewer's security settings. Flash 7 and later versions have a security setting that require a cross-domain policy file.  See the above website for more info.
Also anyone installing Flash must be sure that the Active X control is downloaded from an Internet Explorer web browser.

  • I have a Mac and cannot access my corporate website due to the active x control. Can you help?

When I enter my user name and password on the site, I get a message that tells me that my active x control is not activated. Thx. JG

Active X controls are not used in Firefox they are used by Internet Explorer.

I am trying to finish a book in InDesign CS2 with another person. My old XP computer became unstable and I had to get a Windows 7 computer. I was able to install CS2 on the Virtual XP Machine on my Windows 7 computer, but I cannot register or activate it. Adobe no longer supports activation. Is there a way I can keep using CS2? I need to get files back and forth to my coauthor. I also have CS6. I understand that files can go form 2 to 6, but not backwards. Thanks Robert

you can download a new installer and serial number from Adobe at Adobe - CS2 Downloads

  • Seeburger EDI Adapter Deployment Error: Cannot register EarLoader

    Hello,
we currently have updated our SAP Netweaver Development Environment 2004s to SP20. This installation runs on IBM iSeries.
We also have to deploy a Seeburger EDI Adapter (Version 1.8) but we faced following error in the deployment:
    ---snipped
    PM Error: Aborted: development component
    'SeeFunctionsEar'/'seeburger.com'/'SEEBURGER

We've deployed not only with the JSPM but also with developer Studio. (The SDM-Tool has a big problem after upgrating to SP20 - SAP knows the error and with the next SP this will be fixed. So this tool cannot be used!)
First of all, I think it is very useful for us to know what is the EarLoader but unfortunately we can't find any information on the sap help, documentation or here in the SDN. Neither on the Web .....
Could someone explain the issue to me, please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
1)Can you check your class path, whether it is configured correctly
2)Check whether you have included the latest class file while importing
3)Check whether you have activated the objects after you have made changes are imported

  • AcroPdf Active X control with Reader 9.0

    Hi Guys,
We have been developing a Windows .NET based solution that displays PDF files. We have been using the AcroPDF.dll active X component which further launches the AcroRd32.exe.
    Observations:
    1. Upon installation of Reader 9.0, we no longer see the AcroRd32.exe in the task manager.
    2. When we exit the application, we see an error message "Cannot read the memory at ...."
    Questions:
    1. Do we need a newer version of the Active X control? If yes, Where do we get this new version from?
    2. How has Adobe addressed issues of memory management in Reader 9.0?

I just found the solution at the following link:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...sing-problem-c It uses the following code:
        [System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImport("ole32.dll")]
        static extern void CoFreeUnusedLibraries();
private void Form2_FormClosing(object sender, FormClosingEventArgs e)
            if (axAcroPDF1 != null)
                axAcroPDF1.Dispose();
                System.Windows.Forms.Application.DoEvents();
                CoFreeUnusedLibraries();
I used it, and found no errors :-)

  • Macbook Pro Freezes After Activating Mission Control

I am updated currently to 10.7.4, and I am having a problem that could not be duplicated after a 4 day stay at my local Apple store. Basically the computer freezes up and becomes unresponsive. The last two times it has happened, I noticed (Possibly a time or two before) it was right as I was activating Mission Control. I use Mission Control as a hot corner and right as the mouse hits the corner to activate it, the computer screen shuts off and I have to do a hard reset holding the power button down to get it back. If the keyboard was lit up at the time the computer goes down it stays lit up, and the fans continue to run, but I cannot get it to do anything. I thought maybe the screen was the only thing off, but the volume buttons do no make the sound associated with raising and lowering the volume. I shut the lid and open it, but the keyboard stays lit up even when it is down. The Macbook is just off in la la land.
I should also add that I upgraded the RAM to 8g in April and I had absolutely no problems before. The RAM tested out fine according to Apple even after a deep lengthy scan. I bought the RAM from Crucial and I am sure it is the correct RAM for my computer. One would think even Apple should have told me if it was not the correct RAM, or the computer just plain would not work. So I am at a loss as to what the problem is.
As a last thing, both of most recent times this happened, the computer had not just been woke up, but maybe 5-10 minutes after being brought out of a lengthy sleep maybe 3-4 hours or so. Or it seemed like this was the case.
    Thanks in advance....

    Hi Muddy Angel,
i'm just wondering if you managed to get a solution to this problem.
i'm expiriencing the same problem for the past one year and can't seem to find the problem.
the screen goes black usually when the mission control is in use, it happen to me when using hot corners, trackpad gesture or even the function key (F9), on either the macbook screen or external display.
the problem seem to be connected somehow to the finder as it some rare times occur even when shifting windows between spaces.
i tried several forumes and didn't find the solution.
i reinstalled OS 3-4 times and still no solution, i recently upgraded to the latest OSX Lion hoping that this might fix the problem but the problem still exists....aaarrrrgggggggg
this is extremely extremely extremely frustrating, as sometime in the middle of a meeting or presentation the macbook goes black and need 5-8 minutes to restart it with all the other apps.
if you did find an answer P L E A S E let me know,
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error 1904 "Cannot register ExportSDK.dll" when installing BOXI

When installing BO Entreprise XI Release 2 on my PC WXP SP2, had 2 error messages 1904 "Cannot register dll" on :
    - ExportSDK.dll
    - importent6.dll
I had to ignore both errors to complete install.
Although BOXI seams to work fine, should I fix the error and how to ?
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
Could you please review the following information it might help you to resolve the issue.
    Hi Chris,
This is with reference to the information provided by you.
Could you please test the following solutions to resolve the issue?
    Solution1:
    1. Log in as u2018Computer Administratoru2019.
    2. Make sure that no anti-virus program or spy ware is running on your machine.
    3. Copy and paste all the installation files of BOXI to your local drive of your machine.
    4. Start the installation by running the setup file from your local machine.
    5. Click ignore to all the 1904 errors you get while installing and it should finish the install process
    6. Once the install is complete, go to the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and reinstall BOXI.
    7. The installation the second time should register those dlls without error
    8. After successful installation, restart your machine.
    9. Open BOXIR2 and let me know what happens
If the above mentioned solution doesnu2019t works then could you please apply the following solution?
    Solution2:
You need to disable the DEP option for all services and programs other than those needed by the Operating System, before installing the product.
    To disable DEP:
    1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Settings button > Data Execution Prevention tab.
    2) Select the top radio button and restart the system for changes to take effect.
    3) Upon completing these steps, you can now successfully install the product.
    Solution3:
Sometimes we fail to register the .DLL using REGSVR32 because in the system there is the alias copy of these DLLs. Therefore, could you please check the system folders that is there any alias .DLLs are present for ExportSDK.dll and Import6.dll if there is any such .DLLs could you please remove the dlls and try to register again.
In case of queries please do revert we will be glad to help you.
