Cannot reinstall Acrobat Pro XI with CC account...

Hi.
I was trying to use my Acrobat Pro app to export a pdf as powerpoint. When I couldn't do this, I realized that the version of Acrobat I was working from was Pro X. My Applications folder on my computer showed that I only had Pro X, while my CC account manager read that I had installed Pro XI. I thought that by deleting the version that I had off of my computer and trying to reinstall might help but it didn't. Now my CC account thinks that Pro XI is installed when really I don't have any Acrobat apps at all and it won't let me download again.
Hopefully this makes sense and hopefully someone can help me.

If Macintosh HD IS your system folder, you should have made a mistake because '/Macintosh HD/tmp' = '/tmp' and Mac OS creates a link by default to /private/tmp from /tmp.
So if you did the three command lines I wrote, it should have done this :
1. copy the private/tmp folder into the link /tmp (which is a link to private/tmp folder); so it has copied all the private/tmp folder into itself.
2. you have removed the private/tmp folder
3. you have linked private/tmp to /tmp which is now a link to an unexisting file...
So that cannot work because Mac OS is unable to find any tmp folder...
Now you should add the initial /private/tmp folder and add a link to it from /tmp like this :
sudo mkdir /private/tmp
sudo rm -rf /tmp  (this is an edit)
sudo ln -s /private/tmp /tmp
That should resolve your problem.

  • Cannot Reinstall Acrobat Pro 7.0

I have CS2. I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 7.0. Now I cannot reinstall it from the original software. Install runs but does not install anything, nor does it show any error messages. I have XP SP3 and IE8. I have Reader 9.1.2  The other componens of CS2 work fine. Any help?

Adobe recommends that you do not have Acrobat and Acrobat Reader installed on the same system. The programs have files that each products installs in the same folders that can cause all kinds of problems such as yours. I strongly suggest you remove Acrobat Reader using the Windows Install Cleanup Utility. Then reinstall Acrobat Pro. You still will be able to view PDF files in your browser with Acrobat itself without Reader being installed.
    Good luck.

    Hey jeroenb16613921,
Please specify exactly when you get this white popup screen. While opening a PDF or launching Acrobat by double-clicking on the Acrobat icon.
If it comes when opening a PDF, then where is this PDF actually stored?
Let me know more on the same so that I can analyze the issue.

  • Cannot activate Acrobat Pro XI

I had a subscription to Acrobat Pro XI and it automatically transferred to Acrobat DC I don't like DC at all, it has many bugs. I followed the on-line instructions to uninstall it and reinstall Acrobat Pro XI.When I try to activate Acrobat Pro XI it comes up with an error "Licensing of this software has stopped".I downloaded the trial from Adobe but when I sign in Acrobat Pro does not show up in my products so I cannot see the serial number, Very frustrating.
    Please help.

    Hi stephenl816,
I've checked your account, and it looks like your subscription was not part of a Creative Cloud membership. So, it may be that you used the wrong installer to reinstall Acrobat XI. Please uninstall Acrobat, and then reinstall following the instructions in this document: Acrobat trial removed previous version | How to reinstall.
An Acrobat subscription doesn't require a serial number, as we use your Adobe ID/password as verification/activation. You should not be prompted to enter a serial number if you install from the link provided in the document I link to.
Let us know how it goes!
    Best,
    Sara

  • Cannot install Acrobat Pro from Cs4Web Premium. Mac osx lion

I have had a problem for a while that although the updater keeps announcing an update and allows its download it will not update saying that Acrobat Pro needs re installing.
I have tried to reinstall several times but each time the install hangs on "Preparing to install".
Today I bit the bullet and uninstalled Acrobat Pro to try and resolve the problem and I still, after numerous attempts, get the installation hanging up at "Preparing to install".
I have repaired disk permissions and no change.
The disk image I am using, fully paid CS4 Web Premium, was downloaded today.
I need Acrobat Pro to function on a daily basis and any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Thank you for your time
    Will

I am having the same problem as Willwinch, and it is increasingly upsetting me.  My Acrobat Pro 9 was running perfectly fine until a HD failure.  I installed and restored my files from a time machine backup and right away received a "Suite Product Activation Needed" error message.  After chatting with Adobe customer support, I was advised to ininstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.  Fine, did that only to get an error that said "Licensing for this product has stopped working.".  More customer support chatting indicated that the activation process for Acrobat Pro 9 is not supported with Lion.  That is worth repeating, the ACTIVATION process is not supported.  They said nothing about the actual software as much as I tried to get the "support" to clarify.
To make things more frustrating, my only option to get Acrobat Pro would be to upgrade to version X... Which I do not care to do. I paid $2600 for the Master Collection 16 months ago and I was hoping I could have functioning software a little longer than that.  To make things EVEN MORE frustrating, because I bought the suite, I can only upgrade to the CS6 suite.  Not only do I not care for Acrobat Pro X, I don't care for the entire suite at the moment.  I am comfortable with CS5.
There has got to be some license file I can access and copy over or some other method of activation that will allow me to use my legitimte paid-for software that obviously works.  I teach at a university and for years I have been a strong advocate of not pirating software to my students for a bunch of reasons.  One of those reasons was "You will be glad you did when you need support".  It is sad that is not true.   I am not about to start pirating Adobe software, but I sure am going to be less likely to advocate against it from now on.
EDIT: This gets awesomer.  I finally called a sales rep and he said I could upgrade to just Acrobat Pro X rather than having to upgrade the entire suite... which is sort of a consolation prize since I was hoping to get Acrobat Pro 9 working as it was.  However, there was a little emailing and account snafu which resulted in Adobe charging my card twice AND me getting locked out of my Adobe account.  Now I get to wait 5 to seven days for $199 of the $398 I was charged today to be refunded.  It is amazing how easy money flows into Adobe and how difficult "service" and "product" are to get out.  The sales rep was at least friendly and not condesending as the tech help was earlier.

  • Reinstall Acrobat Pro 7 - can't install updates past 7.0.5

Upgraded to OS 10.5 (PPC Mac - last operating system) and had to reinstall Acrobat Pro 7 from CD as "components were missing". Adobe Updater worked through 7.0.5 Update, now refuses to add any further updates. Tried manual updating, but the 7.0.7 updater says "An invalid application was selected" when I try to select the copy of Acrobat Pro 7.0.5. The 7.1.3 "all" updater, as well as all those between 7/0/7 and it,  tells me "The selected application version is outside the range that can be updated with this installer".
    Suggestions?
    Rick

When I was installing, I received a message saying,
"Error 1310. Error writing to file C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\adistres.dll.  Verify that you have access to that directory."
Then it had a button for retry and when I hit it, it finished installing without any more errors.  My UAC always asks me to allow programs to make changes to the computer and when I allow, it's always fine.  I actually like this for added security.  I've never had an issue with any other program.

  • Lost toolbar (Typewriter) when reinstall acrobat pro 7 (CS2) under Win 7

    Hi There,
Recently, my computer has beed updated to Win 7 from Windows XP. When I reinstalled Acrobat pro 7 (CS2),  toolbar "typewriter" did not show up.
Please help to find out the way to fix it. Thank you very much.

I don't have AA 7 available anymore. It may be that you have a selection of tools that can be made, I don't remember. Without finding a machine with AA 7 on it, I can't help much more on that. As far as the printer, you have to install a PS printer (either from Adobe or maybe a color HP PS printer). Then change the name to Adobe PDF and the port to FILES. Then, when you print you will be saving to file. The file created must be opened in Distiller to create the PDF. I have tried this on both 332 and 64-bit versions of Win7. There may be other features that vary and I did not do extensive testing. Maybe one of your systems is 32-bit and the other 64-bit and that might cause the problem. Keep in mind that AA 7 is a 32-bit process. You also need to install the updates that are at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/. Apparently you were successful with the installation, though the activation server is no longer available for AA7 -- there is an alternative in that case, but you don't seem to need it.

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat Pro X after a compter crash. I enter the correct serial number but then get asked to select a prior product, in my case Acrobat Pro 9, and enter the serial number (this is the number that appears in my account), but there is nowhere to enter the serial number. And if I try to reinstall Pro 9 it won't let me. Do I have to deinstall Pro X first, or what? ALl input welcomed, thanks. Shanter

Thanks Bill, that seems to have done the trick. I am now successfully

Trying to reinstall Acrobat Pro X from disc onto win 8.1 system. (Previous installation got corrupted) Continually getting message ‘Acrobat has detected another process which has not yet completed…’. Have now closed system both cold (full shutdown) and warm (restart) over 10 times. Every time I go to reinstall I get message.

I would run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and delete any Acrobat folders that have been created, then try again. Be sure to log in as the administrator and disable anti-virus when you have problems like this.
