Cannot reinstall Safari

I need to reinstall Safari. I am unable to reinstall Mavericks by restarting my MacBook Air (mid 2011 - up to date) or downloading Mavericks again from the app store. When I go to the page on Apple to reinstall Safari (Safari page - not developer), I do not see where anywhere I can download. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mac OS X
Version 10.9.4
1.7 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Mavericks
Thank you!!

Why do you need to reinstall SafarI?
If you need help with Safari, reinstalling is rarely the fix.
The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.9.4 is to reinstall OS X.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you can access the built in utilities to reinstall OS X using >  OS X Recovery

  • I cannot reinstall safari

    Hello,
I downloaded the newest version of Safari but it turned out i could not use it due to my mac's version, so i tried to reinstall (from google chrome) the older version of safari that i had (10.1.7) but when i reach step "Destination Select" it sais "Safari cannot be installed on this disk. This volume already has a newer version of Safari installed". I don't understand this because i have already uninstaled the newer version of safari.
I would really appreciate your help. I don't know what to do anymore!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The most recent Safari for Snow Leopard is 5.1.9, and you can download and install it from this page > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1569
If you can't install Safari from that version, try to reinstall 10.6.8 > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1399
If it doesn't work, insert the Snow Leopard DVD, hold the C key while your computer is starting and reinstall Mac OS X. After reinstalling, open  > Software Update, and install all updates

If you have Lion v10.7 or Mountain Lion v10.8, the only way to reinstall Safari would be to reinstall OS X using Lion Recovery

    You cannot delete built-in app.
Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Mcintosh HD Volume cannot receive Safari 1.2

"You cannot install Safari 1.2 on this volume. This system cannot use this software." The message is clear enough, but there is no hint as to why I can't install the new version or how I might go about addressing that issue. There are 213 GB free on the volume.

    Susan,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You need to install Safari 2.0.
Follow the procedures listed in Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4 to install Safari 2.0, and then download and reinstall the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update (PPC), or Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update (Intel) if you have an Intel iMac. That will update your Safari to 2.0.4.

  • "You cannot install Safari on this volume-" message.

    Hi,
I just downloaded Safari 4 (running the Safari 4 Public Beta currently). However, when I go through the installation dialog, when I arrive at the screen to select the installation disk, I cannot choose my hard drive (startup volume) and get the following message:
"You cannot install Safari on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Obviously my machine is compliant with the minimum requirements for Safari 4, so what could be the issue here?
    Thanks,
    Tom.

    Then try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Stuck in recovery mode and cannot reinstall Lion

I have an early 2008 Macbook, running on OS X Lion 10.8, purchased second hand from Ebay in the UK, and now I am based in Israel.
For the last few days, my macbook started to run very slowly, crashing every time i opened a web browser for example.
I decided to erase the drive. I did this by booting up in recovery mode, and through disk utility erasing the drive.
Now my problem is that I cannot reinstall Lion, because my Apple ID has never purchased Lion.
I have thought about using another computer to access the Apple store, purchase Lion, then go back to my macbook and see if my apple ID works when trying to reinstall Lion. (I have realised however, that Lion 10.8 is no longer available in the apple store, and that only mountain lion can be purchased. My macbook is early 2008, and therefore not compatible with mountain lion)
Another idea I had was to use another computer to download Lion 10.8, save it to my external hard drive, and boot from that external hard drive. However, again, 10.8 no longer available)
I tried doing these things in safari in recovery mode, however I am not able to download anything, not even to my external hard drive.
Another idea I had was using someone elses Apple ID who has purchased lion, when trying to reinstall in recovery mode.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm running out of ideas. I also don't know anyone nearby who has a macbook or would have a version of Lion I could boot off a memory stick.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Yeah same exact problem as me.  EXACTLY.  In a way I'm glad more than just me are having the problem so I know it's probably not on my end and on the apple side....I HOPE that is what it is.
MAN, a whole day and a half????  Crap I need my phone to work....
I really think it's the apple servers because it errors 3014 right when iTunes says "verifying phone....." something....  It goes away so fast I can't read the rest, but I think that is the step where it verifies phone to the apple servers, which are overloaded, I assume.
It's gotta be that.  How many other people are having this same exact issue?

  • Cant reinstall Safari on leopard 10.5.4

Cant reinstall Safari on leopard 10.5.4
You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer.

    CA MacGirl
It sounds like he dragged the alias of Safari off the dock. That does not remove the actual application. The application should still be in your applications folder. You might check and see. If it is still there you can drag it back to the dock from the applications folder and a new alias of the application will be back in the dock.

  • Reinstall Safari without OS reinstall

I have an iBook (10.3.9) that is running fine except for major issues with Safari 1.3.2. The problems exist in all user accounts. Lots of crashing especially with Google maps.
Resetting Safari does not fix it.
Is it possible to reinstall Safari?
    thanks

You can download it from here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/safariupdate132.html
    Before installing:
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
Repairing permissions is an important part of regular maintenance, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

It looks like you hid the toolbar. To fix this, open Safari and go to View menu (on the menu bar) > Show Toolbar

  • I cannot update Safari.  I am running Lion and am stuck on Safari 4.0.4  Running Update Software is useless as it ignores my old Safari software.  How do I update Safari manually?

I cannot update Safari!  My iMac is running Lion.  I try using Software Update but it tells me everything is okay.  My current version of Safari is 4.0.4  Very out of date.  My problem seems to be only with Safari.  Can anyone tell me how to manually update Safari?

Is your Safari app located (free-standing) in your Applications folder?

  • How do i reinstall Safari for mac osx 10.7.2?

I updated my Safari from 5.1.3 (I believe) to the latest Safari 7 (I believe). When I tried to open it, it said I needed to update my osx, which I don't want to do. Now I can't seem to go back to the Safari I had. I've tried installing version 5.1.1, but it says I need to have mac osx 10.6. My osx version is 10.7.2 and don't want to upgrade yet, but how do I get Safari back, and which version of Safari works in osx 10.7.2?
What happened is not fair because when I was installing the new version of Safari, there was no warning about which osx I needed. Only after it replaced the old version did it say that I can't use it with my current osx. Is that Apple's way to force you to upgrade to the latest osx? Not fair! How can I reinstall Safari now?

On a Mac running v10.7.2, the only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
Safari 5.1.1 is for Snow Leopard. It will not run on a Mac with v10.7 installed.
