Cannot Remote into VM via Remote Desktop or connect to Server from Application

Good Day,
We are having a problem remoting into a VM or connecting to the server from a web application. Microsoft support says the server is in an unhealthy state and are battling to resolve the problem.
When I check the dashboard of the VM i see that Network In and Network Out are @ 0B.
Does anyone have an idea on what could cause this. Nothing was changed from our side before the issue occured

Hi Ralph,
Anything updates now?
Since the host name of the VM is lost in the Azure management portal, it may be due to the VM is not ready, yet. If you suspect it would be an issue on the NIC, you can resize the VM to check the result. (Note: the data on the D:(temporary driver)
would be lost)

Make sure your Mac's software is up to date.
Open system Preferences > Software Update > Check Now.
Restart your Mac after all updates are installed.

Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.

“When I click on “Help” “Elements Inspiration Browser…” and enter username and password and click on “sign in” the program goes to the sign in page and freezes for hours. I must use “Task Manager” to “end task” and close the frozen Elements 10.
When I try to do an "update" I get the following Error Code: U41M1C212

XML Publisher Desktop Db connect SQL Server Host:Port:Sid

Brand new to XML Publisher. Set up XML Publisher Enterprise environment to work with SQL Server 2005 using both MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers, so far no problem.
However the XML Publisher Desktop Report Wizard will not connect to SQL Server 2005 using either MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers. I provide the same data source name, user and pw that I use in the XML Publisher Enterprise environment but it is the 4th piece of information - the database portion (Host:Port:Sid) that I am having trouble with. SID is an Oracle invention not used in the SQL Server world. I have tried various combinations of the database string without sucess.
Perhaps the XML Publisher Desktop does not work with SQL Server. Does anyone know how to use XML Publisher Desktop to create templates that will work with MS SQL Server?

Thanks for you comments. I belive I now have enough to use the HSGC-ODBC technique to make the template and then re-edit it to make it work with the original JDBC connection.
That said, "Using ODBC-JDBC bridge connection is really poor in performance." I, more than anyone on the planet am aware of this issue and more.
Being new to XMLPublisher I thought that having a JDBC connection to a SQL Server from XMLP Enterprise led me to beleive that the XMLP Desktop template creation tool would also work. "*** Pity the fool ***" for thinking that! (Thank-you Mr. T!!! <grin>).
Because I had to engage a 'heterogeneous connectivity" solution to this problem indicates that the product is half-baked. That's not to say that it is not capable.
Rushing software products to market quickly creates products that make the rest of us jump through hoops. I resent that!!! I have more import things to do than waste time!
I demand more of a trusted vendor, do you? I have tortured myself with Oracle products thinking they were ready since the early nineties.
Look we are in a "heterogeneous universe" and if the product pretends to work with "heterogeneous databases" on the Enterprise side than it damn well aught to work with them on the Desktop side. That's my opinion.

HT202788 iPhone 4 cannot control Apple TV via remote App? this is bullying by Apple!!

Looks like I can't control latest Apple TV via the Remote App on an iPhone 4 running iOS 7 - why?... surely this has nothing to do with hardware capabilities and everything to do with Apple's bullying into forcing people to necessarily update their devices. I hope that I am missing something but it all worked fine and now ..!

The confusion between different passwords due to Mobile Me and iCloud plus the complexities of Home Sharing and the frustration of using an increasingly outdated iPhone4 with the sometimes challenging Remote App and a brand new iMAC have proved to be a lethal combination.
I resolved the issue by resetting the Apple TV and the Remote App, making sure I keep things simple by only using the iCloud account ... hope this keeps me out of trouble for a while.

IPad cannot find Apple TV (via 'remote' app)

I have a MacBook, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. I have remote on my iPhone and both the library from my MacBook and ATV are on here.
I have downloaded Remote for the iPad, however it will only find my MacBook library. I have tried turning home sharing off and then back on again and have called Apple who advised to delete the app, reset and then download it and start again. Tried this without success.
I have looked at all the options under settings in the ATV menu and under 'remotes' it has my iPhone listed but i cannot add another.
HELP!

I assume that you have added the library on the iPad so this so please forgive me if you have ...
I don't have ATV. But I do have two iTunes libraries from two different computers available on my iPad. Can I assume that you have added the ATV by this method on your iPad?
When you launch the app, tap on the one library you have, do you get the option to add another library by then tapping on the settings gear in the upper right corner? Does that option even come up for you? Or, if you are in the one library that you have, can you tap on the rectangles in the upper left corner to take you to the screen with the gear setting?
Like I said, apologies if you have done this on your iPad.

Cannot log into iCloud via system preferences on MAC

I am trying to enter my icloud password on my mac and it seems to just be thinking. If i enter the incorrect one it tells me that I've entered the wrong one. Not sure what is going on. I even went as far as changing my password, I then updated it on my iphone, it was accepted, I went to icloud on the web and was able to log in but once again when I try on the mac it just contines to think. Suggestions??

You might try the following, you may be able to skip the first few steps depending where you are up to with your troubleshooting.
1. Sign out of your account
(If you are unable to do this because System Preferences has frozen, Force Quit System Preferences and try again)
2. When prompted, opt to delete, contacts, calendars etc from your Mac.
(You are only deleting this data from your Mac, not from iCloud, the data will be reinstated when you log back in. If you need to check that the data is in iCloud before deleting it go to iCloud.com and check each section for data)
3. Having logged out, check that the iCloud accounts along with their data have disappeared from the Mail, Address Book and iCal Applications.
(If necessary, delete the iCloud accounts from each of these application separately from each Applications Preferences)
4. At this point it may be worth trying to log into iCloud from the System Preferences iCloud settings again, if this works, all well and good, if it doesn't continue to step 5.
5. Open your User Library folder in the Finder. (When in the Finder, go to the Go menu, hold down the option key (alt) and choose Library when it appears in the Go menu)
6. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iCloud and drag the iCloud folder to your desktop. (This action only copies the folder and will provide you with a back up)
7. Select the iCloud folder again in Library > Application Support and drag it to the trash, enter your administrators password when prompted.
8. Restart your computer.
9. You should now be able to enter your ID and Password in system Preferences > iCloud and log into your account. Check the services you wish to use and once you are satisfied it's working as it should, trash the iCloud folder you copied to your desktop earlier.

Capturing Only Audio directly into FCP via a line in connection?

Basically I'm wondering if you can source directly into FCP 4.5 from a Walkman pro? So I can capture directly into FCP. Is this possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends. You've got to find a way to bring in analogue audio through a digital system. You can hook the walkman up to a digital camera and then into FCP. Does a walkman even have an output connection?

Cannot access rented movies via Clear USB Internet connection, but can via wifi and Time Warner Cable. Has anyone encountered the same thing?

I recently rented a movie from iTunes (version 10.4.1.10 on a Windows 7 professional laptop) and when I am at home, on my Clear USB connection, I don't see the Rented Movies in my Library. When I bring my laptop to work however, and connect to a Time Warner Internet connection via wifi, I am able to see my Rented Movies in my Library. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I cannot get my mail. i think this is basic info I need something about server! Can anyone help me. I am not computer literate.

Your mail is housed on the mail server. The device attempts to update, and because you are not connected to the internet, you cannot access it. You need an active data connection to deal with mail.

I can sign into my online account, but cannot sign into nor change my desktop application. I have not forgotten my password.

FTP Browsing via 'Connect to Server'

Hello,
I am trying to mount my website via FTP through the 'Connect to server' option in the Go menu. I am using the syntax < <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="ftp://">ftp://userid:[email protected] > in the Address bar. The server mounts properly, but I am not allowed to modify anything. It gives me a permissions error. I know I am using the right login information, and I know it's the main administrative account. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Other information: My network is School-based, through proxies, firewalls, etc., although I'm fairly sure I tried this at home on my personal Internet access and it exhibited the same problems. Also, just to make sure my account had the proper priveledges, I logged in to my server using a third party FTP client, and I was able to manipulate files normally.

Yes, unfortunately, when you connect from the Finder to an FTP site, you can view directories and download files, but you cannot PUT files or delete files. This functionality is not supported by Apple Finder.
You must use a 3rd party application as you have discovered.
Interestingly, an article was posted last week on Apple's "Hot News" RSS feed:

configured gateway for internet access.
Users are able to connect to RD farm website and remote into terminal server, within office
but can only connect to RD farm website and cannot remote into terminal server , when connected via VPN
Its takes long time at securing connection and fails.

Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all I would suggest you to configure RD gateway role on your server and pass all the connection through it because it’s a best practice to use RD Gateway in RDS Farm.
Apart from this, if you are not using RD Gateway then you must check that you have successfully forwarded port 3389 for RDS to access via VPN. Also check that you have made configuration under IIS Manager to enable Forms Authentication. Please check

Possible to login into Win7 machine via Remote Desktop?

hey guys, i've been trying to find a solution to be able to write to NTFS drives. i've read that using exFAT is a good way to go. the other thing i wanted to try was to login to a Windows machine that's connected to the NTFS drive and write to it that way. how can i do this?

If you want to write to the NTFS drive via the Windows system, then you want to have Windows share the drive, so that you can use Mac OS X:
Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server -> smb://windows.machine.address/share_name
This would mount the shared NTFS file system on your Mac OS X system and allow you to read and write to it.
If you need to access the Windows Desktop, then use the above mentioned Microsoft RDC software, or download CoRD from MacUpdate.com. Both good Windows Remote Desktop Clients.
