Cannot remove add-ons anymore... only option is to disable them now.

As the question states.. with firefox 5.0, I'm no longer able to uninstall/remove addon-ons or extensions.... only disable them... then re-enable if I choose too. If an add-on is causing stability issues, I want it off my computer completely.... not just disabled.

Sorry, I had not noticed that the images in those links have not be updated for Firefox 4 and 5. In Firefox 4 and 5 the Add-ons open in a tab display instead of a separate small window as in prior versions. Along the left side are categories (Extensions, Appearance (formerly Themes), and Plugins).
Those must be Extensions as they do not show in your Plugins reported with your post.

How did the photos/albums get onto the phone ?
Only photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the phone - either via the trashcan icon at the bottom right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it top right in thumbnail view. Albums that you've created directly on the phone can be deleted via the Edit button at the top right of the album selection screen.
Photos/albums that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing

  • How do you identify and remove add-ons/extensions

The explanation of how to remove add-ons tells you to click on menu (and then 3 parrelel bars) What menu is that? I figured out(by trying each and every menu until I figured out it was the tools menu. when I get to the last step it says click the remove button. There is NO remove button at that point (just an enable button which is the last thing I want to do. I am talking about the Cinema ploos extension. It represents it's self as an upgrade with many improved features, but all it is is an add bot that is noisy and obnoxious and they want a one time fee (extorsion) to remove it

It contains instructions on how to manually remove Firefox if the uninstaller does not work.
Could the virus have infected your profile folder (location where Firefox stores bookmarks, passwords, cookies and other user data), if it has you may want to remove the profile folder as well, but will lose all of your user data.

  • Flash player 11.8 successfully installed but is listed as disabled in the add-ons with no option to enable

I cannot get flash player to work on my firefox browser. I installed the latest version of flash player on my mac several times, and it says it is installed successfully. If I look on my add-ons from the "Tools" menu, it says that Flashplayer is disabled, but with no button or option that I can see to enable it. If I try to watch a video on youtube, it says that flash is blocked for my protection. Flash is working fine on Safari and Chrome. Do you have any advice as to what I can do to get flash working on this browser? Thank you!

I closed firefox and deleted pluginreg.dat, and then I opened firefox again and a new pluginreg.dat file appeared. The flash player still appears to be disabled when I look at my plugins though and if I go to a website that requires flash it still doesn't work.

  • I cannot open add ons without an unresponsive script dialogue box appearing which stops the browser running.

I tried to open Add ons from the Tools tab on the main menu. I end up with a script error which appears repeatedly no matter whether I "continue" or "stop script" button.
When I click error console I end up with numerous lines of errors and warnings.
Should I uninstall and re-install to fix this problem?

Thanks for the response. The response you provided appears to only indicate what the cause is. It doesn't help me fix it.
I ended up having to uninstall it, except I had to remove all my personal details stuff too, because having tried to re-install with my preferences on the system just continued the problem. It was a bummer because I lost all my bookmarks.
In fact I'm noticing Mozilla is becoming dysfunctional on all my computers and it's annoying when it crashes as only task manager can close it down. All these problems appeared out of no where in the last few weeks.
Anyway I've had enough. I'm too busy to try and make sense of all the stuff on the help pages. I'm uninstalling for good this time.
    Asta la vista.
I've given up on it and bid Mozilla farewell.

  • Give me and easy way to remove ADD ONS why should it be so difficult

We need to easily remove ADD_ON.
your instructions talk about a remove button that DOSE NOT EXIST.
I have downloaded the up dated Firefox 3 times today !!! BUT NO REMOVE BUTTON
when are you going to fix this problem!!!!!!!!

I looked at your screen shot, and it looks like all of you add-ons were
disabled. Did you do that? Try to right click on one add-on and see if
you get a menu. If nothing seems to work, there is a last resort. You can
reset Firefox to its factory settings. This will remove all add-ons and any
settings you have made. Bookmarks and history should not be lost.
    ==================================
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. <br>
'''Note''': ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.''
*Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Removing Add-ons in Windows 7

With Windows XP we were able to remove two .sbo files from local machines to have SAP reinitialize / reinstall the assigned add-ons when there were sisues, but that file structure does not exist in Windows 7.
FYI:  the two .sbo files were:  AddOnsIInstall.sbo and AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo.
I have removed the two troublesome add-ons through the Programs section of the Control Panel and have removed the Application Data files (for SAP) along with the residual Program Files data (for SAP) and have even removed add-on info from the registry.
Logging into SAP still does not prompt the add-ons to re-install.  Does anyone have a fix for this?
I suspect there are other files I need to delete or I need to find those .sbo files somewhere.
    Thanks in advance folks!
    Regards,
    Dan Berube

  • How to enable removed add-ons?

I accidentally removed one of my add-ons on firefox and i try to reinstall firefox but it doesn't help me solve my problem

If you removed an add-on, re-install that add-on.

  • Firefox disables old add-ons without an option to reenable them. This is [cussing] stupid, especially when it's my add-on that disables this retarded functionality in the first place.

Why is mozilla going the way of apple? There is no reason to take options away from users.
I should not have to wait for my add-on that disables version checking to be updated to the new version because it fails version checking. Stop treating me (and others like me) like a retard. If I want to run old stuff on my install, let me. It's not mozilla's place to nanny me.

Add-ons are developed for and tested with specific Firefox versions. If you update Firefox then there is no guarantee that add-ons still works. All add-ons come with an installation file that defines a minimum and maximum Firefox version that the add-on works with.
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

  • Add-ons managaer only work partly

I'm running FIREFOX 12, but my add-ons manager is only working half of its total features. Features that are work are....recent updates, available updates, plug-ins and appearance! Features NOT working are....extensions, get add-ons and search.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
