Cannot remove deleted mailbox

Please help!
I created two new mailboxes but made a mistake during the set ups. I decided to delete them and start again. However, they now appear as greyed out mailboxes and I cannot get rid of them.
The problem is that whenever I try to create new mailboxes the system says that the names are already in use.
Grrrr!
Andy

are those mailboxes in "on my mac" section or in one of your IMAP accounts?

    Hi,
There were couple of Export requests pending for this database. Get-MailboxExportRequest command was giving me "Cannot perform searches outside the scope" error.
Here are the commands I executed to resolve this issue.
    1. Set-AdServerSettings -ViewEntireForest $True
    2. Get-MailboxExportRequest -Database "Database Name" | Remove-MailboxExportRequet
    3. Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -identity "Database Name"
Database was successfully removed after executing these commands.
    or
    Get-MailboxExportRequest | remove-mailboxexportrequest

  • Cannot remove deleted user from people picker - SharePoint Foundation 2010

So I think I've read all the people picker articles here and I can't find a solution so I thought I'd start a new thread. Here is the issue:
A user was deleted from Active Directory and removed from SharePoint Foundation 2010. The user was still showing in the People Picker within the site collection, so we have performed a few things to try and get rid of this user.
    User is deleted from AD
User is deleted from SharePoint Site Collection
    Have tried stsadm -o deleteuser
Have removed all mention of this user from UserInfo table
    User does NOT show in
    https://<SiteCollectionURL/_layouts/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0
Cannot find any mention of this user anywhere.
Ran a full crawl as we read on a forum somewhere that it might help.
If I try and add the user back to SharePoint I get "The user does not exist or is not unique"
If I try "stsadm -o deleteuser -userlogin DOMAIN\USER -url https://<sitecollectionurl>" I get "The user does not exist or is not unique"
I am not sure what else I can try now. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Vinny

No other domain trusts that this user could be in.
Just so everyone can stop with the warnings, we do NOT regularly delete users from the UserInfo table and fully are aware of the problems behind it, which is why it is so rarely done. But at times, you have to do what you have to do to help a customer, you
know? This one user is the only one that was removed from the UserInfo table, but there are a few other users that are also deleted (from SharePoint, not manually from UserInfo) that are still showing as well. This one user included.
There MUST be another place that the people picker gets it's information from. ALL of the user's old information still shows in the people picker (username, email address, display name), and yet none of that information exists anywhere other than in the
People Picker. Mailbox is gone from Exchange, User deleted from SharePoint, User deleted from Active Directory. Is there no cache someone could point me towards that People Picker might store information in.

  • Cannot remove additional mailbox

I gave myself full access rights to a user's mailbox and did what I needed to do using OWA. But now, in my Outlook I have their mailbox and I can't remove it. Their name does NOT appear in 'open additional mailbox'
If I remove full access rights on ESM I can't open the mailbox in Outlook, and if I give myself full access rights again I can. But I can't remove or close it. I tried the REGEDIT HKCU edit and so removed the key with the user's name in it and restarted
Oulktook. The mailbox added itself while I watched.
I deleted my Mail profile then added it back using another profile name. The ^$^%$^$ mailbox still appears.
Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
    Thanks

Im having the same issue as everyone in here but identical to Abdul Jaleel Maliks issue. I have no one in the list but many in the listBL. When I try to remove them, I get the "Cannot be modified because its owned by the system" error message.
I have done these tow things to try to get rid of that error:
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System \CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters, create the following value:
Value name: Allow System Only Change
    Data type: REG_DWORD
    Value data: 1
Then close the registry and now you should be able to modify through ADSIEDIT .
this did not work. I also tried this:
Login as a member of Schema Admins (preferably on the Schema Master FSMO)
    Launch LDP.EXE
Connect to the Schema Master FSMO using LDP.EXE
Bind to the Schema Master using an account with Schema Admin permissions.
From the Browse menu, choose Modify
In the Modify dialog box, leave the DN field blank, and type schemaUpgradeInProgress in the
Attribute field. In the Value field, enter the number 1. Click the Enter button, then click the Run button.
    Close the Modify dialog box.
Launch ADSIEDIT.MSC and modify the mAPIID values for the necessary attributes . (You may need to wait for the Active Directory to replicate.)
Run LDP again, and change the value of schemaUpgradeInProgress from 1 to 0.
From the Active Directory Schema console, right click on the console and choose "Reload the Schema"
During this, i tired to edit the values of the ListBL attribute and it gave a database error and the a schema error.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

  • Cannot remove user mailbox photo

    Hi to all,
i need to remove mailbox photo for a user and i have no success.
    - Photo is already removed from active directory
    - Tried command: Remove-UserPhoto "xxx"
    - Tried command: Set-Mailbox "xxx" -RemovePicture
Commands runs ok, but the photo is still visible. ONLY for one specific user. I tried with other user and the change is immediate.
    I'm running Exchange 2013
    Thanks for help!

It might be that address book has not been updated. Try in OWA and see whether the photo is removed.

  • On 10.4.11 Mac Mail I get this: Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full. You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unnedded documents or move documents to another volume. I can't open mail.

On 10.4.11 iMac Mac Mail I get this message: "Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full. You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unneeded documents or move documents to another volume." I can't open mail to do this. I have reinstalled software but no effect. How do I get into Mail to delete?

Found this on the "more like this" Worked like a charm!
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Copy the Mail folder and place the copy on the Desktop for backup purposes.
Go to Home > Library > Mail > Envelope Index. Move the Envelope Index file to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and you will be prompted to import mailboxes. Select OK and allow the import process to complete.
After confirming all mailboxes were successfully imported and available, you can delete the copy of the Mail folder and old Envelope Index file from the Desktop and this should resolve the problem.

  • Removing "Not Deleted" Mailboxes from a Database

Before I go anywhere, let me explain what I mean by "Not Deleted" mailboxes - We will be deleting and recreating a pair of databases this weekend. A s part of this process, we move all mailboxes from these databases to the other 22 mailbox databases
in the corporation, leaving our databases empty.  We then run a command to find the soft-deleted and disconnected mailboxes and handle them (remove the former and reconnect the latter so we can move them to another database).  When I ran this script
on one of the two databases, I found that the database had two supposedly live mailboxes on it.
So I ran Get-MailboxStatistics -Database and got info about these two mailboxes.  Neither shows as being SoftDeleted or Disconnected, and neither has a DisconnectDate.  So they should be live mailboxes, with an AD account.  So I checked them
and found one had an account - but was on another database on a totally different server (in fact, in the other DAG).  And the other belonged to an account that was deleted last November.
So, these two mailboxes appear to be zombies, with no life and no soul, but doomed to foil my plans to delete the database gracefully - they are all that stands between me and the success of my mission.  Now, I know I can take the database offline,
delete the database files, and bring them back online and that will kill these zombie mailboxes, but I was hoping someone had a way I can delete them gracefully so I don't feel like I've just used a sledgehammer on my servers.  I tried Remove-StoreMailbox,
but it requires that the mailbox have a status of either SoftDeleted or Disconnected - and from what I've read online, those are the only two accepted options.
So I come to you for possible guidance - keep in mind that these are totally unnecessary mailboxes and I have no qualms about deleting the database if that what it comes down to.  Anyone have any other suggestions?  Thanks ...
    Will

There were two active mailboxes showing from the "Get-MailboxStatistics -Database <database name>" command, even though the database showed no active mailboxes when running "Get-Mailbox -Database <database name>" command.  Neither of these
had a disconnected date, and neither showed a value in the Reason field.  Now for your answers:
    1.  One of these mailboxes showed as being on another database, same GUID, etc, and was able to be accessed on that other database.  However, Get-MailboxStatistics - Database <database name> showed that it also existed on this database.
We couldn't connect an account to this mailbox, nor could we delete it - the command (below) said the mailbox was on another database (which it was).
    Connect-Mailbox -Identity <mbx GUID> -Database <name of the database we wished to delete> -User <account SAM account name> -Alias <account SAM account name> -Shared -DomainController <domain controller>
    2.  The command was what I show above.
Post Mortem:  Since we had to delete the database, and since neither of them were needed, we just went forward with our work.  I was hoping we'd be able to remove these mailboxes gracefully, but none of the tools we had available worked for the
    job.

  • Deleting mailbox without removing user object? Exchange 2010

In Exchange 2010, How can I delete a mailbox but keep the User Object since this user still access the network??

    Caution: Horror story ahead:
Yeah, well, the earlier bits of Exchange 2010 don't let you remove Exchange without first removing the mailbox from the mailbox database... this is according to MSFT documentation.  So I highlighted all the users at a customer's 130 user site and clicked
remove.  S.O.A.B.!!!!  Only to find out one of the other senior techs did the same thing at a 10 user site but didn't tell anybody.
The worst thing here is that there were no backups of AD.  We were able to restore the deleted user accounts via the aduser tool from sysinternals, but it only got the sam name and the SID, no group memberships, no passwords, not even first name, lastname
or UPN.  Since AD comes with the recycle bin disabled (dumb because you don't know you have to enable it until you need it.) and the new Windows Server Backup doesn't let you take system state backups without lots of hassle dedicating drives and backup
locations, we found ourselves royally um... humped.  Still dealing with the after math after restoring the objects for over 6 hours.
Thanks for the egg on my face MSFT!

Hi i clicked on the games app on the Z10 and it forced me to grant it permission to share on bbm. I dont want it showing up on my bbm. However the option on settings and permissions is greyed out and set to on. How can this be- must be a bug? also you cannot delete the app..... so lookks like im stuck with the problem? any help please..............
    ps have tried these options
    1. Delete the app by pressing and holding the icon and click on delete.
    2. Best way to get rid of the app is go into my world and uninstall the app.
    3. Can change the application permissions under settings, Security and Privacy, Application Permissions.
    none work!.
Next is the app linkedin succesfully deleted it but now cannot remove it of the hub list it still remains there even if i turn it to off in the hub settings? also all app ppermissions are set to off.

Arsen, I don't think you understand that in the Z10 these 3 delete options are not available for the Games App. And in the application permissions it is greyed out and you CAN'T change it. None of the sliders, whether grey or not, are moveable. they are permanently stuck on the "ON" position.
