  • How do I remove stored passwords IF any from FF Sync

    Hi
    I have opened a new account and synched once
    After sync I realise that the tools -> Options - synch *has* "passwords" ticked ..so I assume that my stored passwords IF any have been synched
    How do I remove the passwords from sync ?
    I am ok with other data being synched like browsing history etc .... but what about password ?
    TIA
    Regards
    subu

    hello, if you remove the check-box next to passwords, they will also be removed from the server (you can check under manage account > view quota).
    another way to clear all your current sync data is by logging-in to [https://account.services.mozilla.com/sync/purge https://account.services.mozilla.com]

  • Remove Stored Password?

    My son got an iPod Touch for Christmas. He's been downloading free apps, and now we've agreed to let him download apps that cost something. He's been using my Apple ID, which we originally set up to let us buy music in iTunes. It has a credit card associated with the account.
    When he was buying free apps, it asked for the password each time, and he'd hand it to me and I entered the password. Now that he's buying apps, for some reason it's stored the password. We all want it to ask for the password before downloading any apps, but now it just downloads without asking for the password. Is there a way to require the Touch to ask for the password every time?
    Possibly related - we just set up his Touch to use Facetime. That also requested the user information, and it was just before we discovered this never-need-a-password problem.

    iTunes will remember your password for fifteen minutes after entering it. There is no way to disable this window, without disabling purchases in general.
    If he's old enough, I'd recommend making him an account without a credit card:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
    Furthermore, you can set up an monthly allowance for the account, that way he won't spend more than you allow him.

  • Cannot remove login password!

    hello
    i cant remove my login password, the line is greyed out in the menu Security & privacy > General > Require password. My account is the administrator

    You can reset a Password (lost/forgotten) set on your Mac using 'Reset Password Utility' available with OS X Utilities tool. With OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Utilities tool can be generally found on a local hidden Recovery HD Partition if your Mac has one.
    To check If your Mac has got a local hidden Recovery HD Partition, start your Mac holding COMMAND + R buttons. If you hold the keys pressed enough and there is a local Recovery HD Partition on your Mac, you will be presented with OS X Utilities window.
    Click the 'Tool' menu item and choose 'Reset password'. Terminal window appears. Type 'resetpassword' into it and press 'Enter'. Reset Password window appears with User Account Names available on your Start-up Volume. Select the User Account Name and rest is simple to follow.
    One of the advantages of this method is that it does not require any Authorization method such as administrative authentication to reset a password.
    NOTE: If your Mac does not have a local hidden Recovery Partition on its system disk, you can create one using Disk Assistant application available from Apple. Search for the Disk Assistant in the support area.

  • Stored passwords

    so maybe i'm missing something here, but when i try and login to facebook, i can't get auto logged in. first place i checked was in my stored passwords. i made sure there was nothing about facebook being set to 'never store passwords,' or whatever it's called exactly. i tried again and nothing. so i went back in and deleted every facebook login there was. tried again and nothing. i can't even check the 'remember me' box and have that work. it never stays checked. is my version of safari, 3.2.1., too old for it to work with facebook? i can't really think of anything else.
    i even reset safari with everything checked except the remove stored passwords and remove other autofill texts and that did nothing as well.
    is there some other option somewhere i'm missing that would keep my login from auto showing up in facebook? cause it's highly annoying.

    and one other thing, i've deleted all my facebook saved passwords. so i go and login to facebook and safari doesn't ask me if i want to save the login info. why? cause normally when i delete a previously saved login info and than logon, safari will ask me if i want to save the password.

  • Just upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2 on my iMac 24 inch and now my Suddenlink POP email account won't accept messages. The message says unable to receive Mail and the warning says: Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove th

    Yesterday I uploaded Yosemite 10.10.2 thinking it was fixed by now. In Mail, my POP account gets this error message: Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
    My provider says it's an Apple issue. The gmail accounts are logging in fine. Any help? Something simple?
    Thanks anyone.

    Thanks Csound1. That did work and Mail was able to connect to the internet. Green light status. Is it because of my provider that I may never have had secure connections? Is that an Apple thing or do PCs have the same issues? Appreciate your help. I'll research insecure connections as I am ignorant of the consequences.

  • I cannot receive mail and the password is incorrect. I know my password, but it suddenly doesn't work anymore.I 'removed' all passwords. Still doesn't work.

    I am totally frustrated with Thunderbird. All I want to do is send and receive email, but I always run into problems. This time I cannot send or receive emails because the password is incorrect. I haven't changed my passwords so why is this happening? I removed all passwords to my emails and Thunderbird still asks me for my password. I enter in nothing or my old password and still nothing. Please advise.

    has your provider webmail? Try the passwort there. Maybe you have been locked out because you entered the wrong password too many times.
    Maybe you are using the wrong username.
    check if your e-mail provider has a step by step manual on how to setup an account with Thunderbird.

  • Reset password, still cannot remove admin privledge

    I cannot remove admin privilege from my own account. I've worked through the procedure to Reset Password via the startup disk. However, I am still unable to remove the admin privilege. The account is a generic user account but assigned to a created 'Users' group.
    I'm trying to consolidate all admin privileges to one account, admin, and remove such from any generic user accounts.
    Thank You

    Restart the computer, logged into the new account with admin privileges.
    You go to apple menu, and chose system preferences. System preferences opens, and you click on accounts. Then you click on the lock, and your prompted to type in the password. So you type it in, and click ok. The lock at the bottom right should now be open. Under Other Accounts, click on the other account, the old account, that you don't want to be an admin, And there is a check box labeled "Allow user to Administrate this computer."
    Is the check box checked but grayed out? is it unchecked? do you uncheck it, and but it becomes checked again? Are you getting stuck on a step before this?

  • Cannot Remove Password From Accdb Database

    Access 2007
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    I created an accdb database and encrypted it with a password.  Now I want to remove the password.
    I opened the database exclusively and entered the password.  The help instructions say:
    2.On the Database Tools tab, in the Database Tools group, click Decrypt Database.
    The Unset Database Password dialog box appears.
    Unfortunate, the Database Tools group is displaying "Encrypt with Password" and clicking on that brings up the Set Database Password dialog box not the Unset Database Password dialog box.
    Is this a known bug?
    There is also an Encode/Decode Database in the Database Tools group but there does not appear to be anything in the help information about it.
    Decode Database results in a not found response and Encode Database retunrs a link to Encrypt a database by using a database password which refers to the "Encrypt with Password" section of the documentation which refers to "Encrypt with Password" in the Databse
    Tools group.
    The only way it appears you can remove a password is to create a new unprotected database and import everything from the old one it.  Unfortunately, that leaves behind things like the layout of the Relationships window, all property settings, etc.

    Hi There,
    Sorry for the late response.
    I think I have a solution to your issue.   I poretty much had the same condition when trying to remove a password.  I logged on in EXCLUSIVE mode multiple time and each time I would see the ENCRYPT with Password instead of the "DECRYPT...."
    I believe my password contained a few special characters that may have caused the problem with corruption because I also noticed that whenever I tried to COMPACT & REPAIR it would not accept my password  that I logged on with.  That's why I
    figured there is either a bug or corruption.
    In either case follow these steps and you should be able to resolve without re-building and importing/exporting objects:
    =================================================
    If you try changing the database password by
    1. Open exclusive mode
    2. Click info
    3. If the Decruypt button appears then click and change the password.
    If not try below
    It is possible to remove the password as follows:
    Again open Access database in EXCLUSIVE mode
    Press Ctrl+G to activate the Immediate window in the Visual Basic Editor. (With MS Access )
    Type or copy/paste the following line:
    Code:
    a)  CurrentDb.NewPassword
    "enter old password", ""
    With the insertion point anywhere in the line, press <Enter.>
    Examples
    1. Remove the password assume the current password is : SnowFlake123
         CurrentDb.NewPassword "SnowFlake123", ""
    2.  Change the password to SpringWater123” assume the current password is : SnowFlake123
          CurrentDb.NewPassword "SnowFlake123", "SpringWater123"
    ================================================
    This worked for me.    I used option 1 and removed the password.  Then compact and repaired.
    Restarted without the password and then ENCRYPTED with PASSWORD.  I used a password with upper, lower case and numbers.  No special characters.
    I tried to follow the steps to remove the passowrd and now my "DECRYPT...." shows up under file, info.

  • How to remove BIOS password on Elitebook 8770w?

    Hello!I want to update BIOS on my Elitebook 8770w . However, the computer was locked withadministration password for BIOS and i could not remember this password. So can someone please help me to remove this password or anyway to update BIOS without it?

    Dear Customer, Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you. This is to inform you that all HP Business Notebooks such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models infact they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial Number and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case. Please have a look at this link. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/49497-HP-Probook-Elitebook-BIOS-Password-Reset-Utility  Please Contact HP Business Notebook support they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.  Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

  • Loaded Yosemite onto mid 2011 MacBook Air. IMAP account goes offline - message - Mail cannot send your password securely to the server.  Allow insecure authentication doesn't work. Repeated reloads. No joy. Help!

    Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.

    I have the same problem.
    Late 2012 imac 27", intel i7 core
    When I upgraded to Yosemite, suddenly my email account (netvigator POP) gives an error:
    Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
    I have shut down & restarted mail, but no success. If I select Allow insecure authentication, it works, but that's not a long term fix.
    I also have a hotmail POP account enabled, and that is working fine.
    What's happening Apple??
    (Long term apple family - iMac, iBooks, TimeCapsule, iPhones, iPads, AirportExpress etc etc)

  • After updating on my mac - I cannot open various password protected pages - like my WordPress site. I can open them from Safari and from Firefox on my windows pc.

    after updating firefox , it won't allow input of password on various sites - like my wordpress admin page. I can access this page from safari and from firefox on my windows pc.

    I cannot open password protected WordPress pages using Firefox. They open using IE
    If I remove the password protection the page opens correctly in FF.
    I have cleared the FF cache and cookies several times, No change
    I have modified the wp-pass.php file several suggested ways related to the referrer and nothing solves the issue.
    I tried:
    wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer());
    to
    wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer() . '?');
    NO GOOD
    I tried:<br />
    <br />
    <pre><nowiki>$location = wp_get_referer();
    if ( $location == '' )
    $location = './';
    wp_redirect($location, $status = 302);
    </nowiki></pre>
    NO GOOD
    I have upgraded WordPress to 3.3.1. Still NO GOOD
    I have deactivated, and also removed all plug-ins. Still NO GOOD.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Why just an FF issue?
    IE no problems

  • I have changed my Apple id. It should be in order. But somehow in my iCloud there is a different apple id and I cannot change the password. Apple is no more giving me an extra change. I have used all? How can I remoce this extra iCloud account?  Ellimati.

    I have changed my Apple id. I should be in order. But iCloud is not working, because it has a different account name. I cannot remove the account, because it needs password. I don´t have it! I have asked too many times a possibility to have a new password. Apple is no more giving me the e-mails (so easy to handle the account!) I hope if I can enter the account, I can also remove it. How to remove an extra iCloud account with old account name? Ellimatilda

    You need to sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud and sign back in again with the new password

  • I have an Iphone 5s with an account icloud that isn't an iCloud id, why? I cannot remove and the mail that names id doesn't exist anymore; what can I do?

    I have an Iphone 5s with an account icloud that isn't an iCloud id, why? I cannot remove and the mail that names id doesn't exist anymore; what can I do?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

  • Why is the stored password pop-over window so massive, so irritating, and how the @#$%#$% do I get rid of it?

    Ok, so FF just updated itself to the new version. It appears Mozilla has done everything possible to add all the annoyances of the Internet Explorer interface to FF.
    My issue is the stored password popup. It's massive. It blocks the page view, and I can't ignore it easily like the older style that just slid a small button, unobtrusively, in the corner.
    This is just another irritation in addition to the completely uncalled for removal of the status bar (no I'm not going to install another plugin to "fix" it), and the sudden change to the order of some contextual menu items (open new tab/window are reversed. wtf?)

    Try signing out and then back in again by going into Settings>Store>Apple ID:>Sign Out>
