Cannot Reorder Photos in Album

I am experiencing an issue where dragging photos in a manually ordered album does not allow me to change the order of the photos. See video below. Infuriating. 3.0.1

Check in Windows Explorer to see that the files are not labeled "read only".

Normally I do not have a problem reordering photos in LR4.
However with my last import from a folder in Pictures on my Imac's hard drive I am being shown the following error message,
'Cannot reorder photos. The currently selected scource does not support custom order.'
My Imac works on OS X version 10. 6.8, with a 500GB hard drive of which 186GB is free.
Please advise

I believe that you can re-order photos in collections (but not smart collections), or if you have a single folder selected.
If you have multiple folders selected, or a smart collection selected, or a keyword selected, or "All Photographs" selected (and probably a couple of other items selected), you cannot re-order photos.

iPhoto does not allow reordering of the photos in the albums, sorry. Sync them to iPhoto in the correct order (see: Re: How to reorder photos in iPad2). You may display selected images together when editing, but that's it, see Compare photos
Only in a special album, journals, you are free to arrange the photos in the order you want. Perhaps you may want to create journals from your photos to present them in a specific order:

Cannot select photos from albums for screensaver since upgrade to Tiger.

Since upgrading my G4 to Tiger, screensaver will only work with Photo Library, Last Row, and Last 12 months folders. I can no longer select my own albums I have created in iPhoto. When I do select my own albums, the screensaver selects from Photo Library. Screensaver will work with the Last Row and last 12 month albums. This is kind of frustrating. Not too pleased with Tiger and would reinstall Panther in a heartbeat if I could figure out how to do it.

I have starter 3.0 and cannot share pictures via outlook express. Evidently that version is discontinued and my outlook express does not support the MAPI that is required. I think the only solution is to upgrade to photoshop
elements or to send photos as attachment to your e-mail. I have the same problem using Zoom Browser EX sending photos via internet. I spent a whole day trying to resove this issue and have exhausted all options. Just like "Instant share" in HP image Zone that was replace by photoshop album starter 3.0 and now it is out dated.

I believe you can only re-order photos in a collection (but not a smart collection) or in a folder.
Alternatively, you can have Lightroom sort the photos by any one of a number of criteria.

When I select photos, the albums are listed. However, the first album is covered over by the category label and cannot be selected. The other albums are visible and can be selected.

IOS 8 problems. cannot access all photos under ALBUMS and...

Cannot get IPAD2 to sync just keeps going and going... also cannot access all my photos under albums... only videos and "recent photos". I don't like to use the photos that divides the photos up and I could at least see all photo under ALBUMS, now there are only the last 10 or so. My iphone 4s has not allowed the option to update to iOS 8

I have the exact same problem with my ipad mini, and have sync with iMac on several occasions.

Hi. I cannot trash photos from an album. Options are "remove from album" or "trash" but both only remove from album not the library. The only way to trash photos is to go to the library/photos and trash from there which is a bit annoying!

If you click the arrow in the right lower corner of the photo in the album, you should see the Trash can. Is it not there?
Or use the key combination option-command-delete ⌥⌘⌫ .

I can confirm that this happens +only when in Edit mode+.
It works exactly as it should in Organisation mode.
I'm not sure it's a bug. It strikes me as intentional. After all I can't drag anything to another Album (i.e Organise) when I'm in edit mode.
I don't recall this being a feature of iPhoto 08.

Is there a way to reorder the Photo Stream Albums on my iOS Device?

I have been searching for a way to change the order of my Photo Stream albums on my iPhone/iPad/MacBook Air to no avail. Is there a way to change the order that they are shown within the Photo Stream in my photos? Thanks

I've been looking for the same thing. It would seem to be a good feature for Apple to add.
I have found one workaround that may be helpful to you, although it's a bit of a pain. The images appear in the order that you add them to the stream. And you can select the images from the stream itself to add them again. So what I did is
1. Add all the pictures I need to the stream.
2. Determine the order I want them in.
3. From the stream, add the pictures again one by one (using "select" within the stream, then the little "send to" icon).
4. Delete the originals from the stream.
And this did the trick.

Why did Apple program it to function this way?! I synced photos from my computer to my iPod. I threw away my old computer when I bought a Macbook Pro. I want to delete my previously synced photos from my old computer. How can I unsynced the photos now? Can I ask Apple to allow synced photos to be deleted? I would like to be able to use my iCloud albums to organize my photos but if I cannot access them from apps it seems pointless. I will end up having to maintain both an iCloud library and a separate iPhoto library which is more work that seems necessary. I want everything easy to organize and access. It seems like in this age where most people are more likely to use their mobile devices than their Macs (and some do not even own Macs) that there should be a mobile solution. Hopefully I am simply without a clue and you folks can help me out with a fix or a source of info as a solution. I have not found answers yet.

Cannot upload photos to internet sites with the new Photo app (10.10.3 Update)

I'm not a huge fan of the redesigned Photo app that came with the 10.10.3 update. So, I can no longer upload photos from my computer to websites with this app. It's like the pictures don't exist when the window pops up for what files you would like to select. I have had to work around by dragging the photos out of the app and to my desktop, then upload them via the pop up window from there; that works just fine. Now I have duplicates all over my desktop cause I need them so frequently. All my photos and albums do seem to be in the app correctly, I just can't access them from other programs and the Internet. I run the latest of Firefox. IPhoto is still showing on my dock too, does it need to be there now that it has been replaced with the Photo app? I havent tried opening it, but I do know I cannot select any images from the old IPhoto when trying to upload to the Internet, the app doesn't exist in that situation. Even beyond upload to third party sites on the Internet, I had the same issue when I attempted to put my logo in to Pages to create a binder cover last night. I had to go do my work around again and drag my logo out of the program to the desktop. I have restarted the computer several times and have shut down nightly since the new update. What is wrong with this app?

And after you stated that you did not understand this simple question you answered it
And of course until you answered no one had any idea how you were doing it - there are many ways including many incorrect ways so in order to help we have to understand what you are doing - many times the answer is as simple and providing the correct method to replace the incorrect method that one is using
And iphoto of course still exists and is usable on you system - Photos was added - iPhoto was not removed with the upgrade to 10.103
You are not "forced to use Photos - in fact many people are not - I am not yet sure if I will or not
And the discussion on using the media browser is not at all irreverent - in fact it still works virtually exactly the same as with iPhoto - which is why I referenced it of course
And you spent so much time on weird and incorrect dribble that you failed to answer another critical question
what happens that you can not upload them?
WE can not see you and can not help unless you actually provide details and all requested information - you stream of incorrect statements and editorials not only do not help us help you, they create a major barrier to helping you
