Cannot replace damaged app

I have an app - Memory Clean - which was recently updated on the App Store. After the update was downloaded/installed, the app failed to open. I received an error message that it was damaged and that I should reinstall it.
I therefore deleted the app and all of its various related files (thank you, Hazel), went onto the App Store and tried to download it again.
However, the App Store will not do this. It tells me that the app is "installed". In fact a careful search of my entire computer shows that there is no app or other file called Memory Clean or anything similar to that - which makes sense, because I deleted the damaged copy.
Is there some way to "reset" my App Store account so that it refreshes its records of what is installed on my computer?

Is there a backup drive connected that has the app installed on it?

  • Cannot download an app purchased on the web store

    Hi,
    Yesterday I purchased Logic Pro X from the web business store. The purchase process appears to be "completed" in my Orders page on the Apple website. As of now, I cannot see the app among the Purchased apps in the Mac App Store, nor I can see a button anywhere to download it without repurchasing it.
    Does anybody has an idea of how to download this app?

    David, thank you for you hint. I was starting to suspect that purchases made in the business store need some time for the burocratic part, and is not as immediate as purchases made inside the App Store. Quite odd, since all other software purchases I do with other companies result in immediate download. Probably, Apple do not have enough computers to replace all the paperwork...

    I had to have a new hard drive put into my Mac mini. I am trying to re-install by boxed set of Adobe Creative Suite master collection 5.5 but cannot find install.app on any of the three disks. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    There's something else I have just remembered. The master suite collection was a student edition that I had the platform changed for, from Windows to Mac. This explains why the serial number on the box doesn't work. It had to be cancelled. So now the situation is that I need to track down the serial number it was replaced with. Thing is, I can't remember what Adobe did. I have relevant emails still, but only saying they have cancelled the old serial number (that's on the box) nothing about a replacement one.
    Any thoughts?

    when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

       Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.

    One thing that might work is .... Go to the purchased tab in the app store. Tap on an app that needs an update. That will take you to the app description page. Tap on the app icon in there and see if you can download the update. Could be very time consuming, but it might work.
    This is a recently talked about trick that might work. Its more for the "Cant' connect to the iTunes Store" issue, but you can try it.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and time. Change the date and time to some time in the future and see if that helps.
    Lastly, you can always update the apps in iTunes on your computer and them sync them to the iPad.

    I just went through this same process.... I changed my credit card, double checked billing info, changed my password, I restored my phone, but the misake I made was I kept restoring it from my back up.... Finally I went to Apple Store.. and sad to say that you have to do a restore, and DO NOT restore from back up.
    I used Gmail so I didnt loose contacts or email.. but I did loose all my text messages and history of that.
    So, I had the EXACT same problem and it was a software issue.. you have to restore your phone to factory settings and start all over.. BLOWS I know!

    Either use the Apple ID you used when you originally purchased the applications or you will have to purchase them using your Apple ID. If you did not have the other Apple ID, then you have the applications illegally or they were improperly included with a computer you purchased from someone else.

    Ipod touch will sync with one computer at a time.  If you sync to another then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

    Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
    Make sure the Firewall is turned off.
