HI I AM NOT ABLE TO RESTORE MY BACK UP FORM TEH COMPUTER , IT IS ASKING ME FOR A PASSWORD AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE PASSWORD IS , IT NEVER ASKED ME FOR THSI BEFORE

If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, you will not be able to use that backup if you can't remember the encrypted backup passcode.
If on a Mac, & you elected to save the passcode to your Keychain, you can recover the passcode from your Keychain. Otherwise, your data is unrecoverable.
While you can continue to sync/backup, if you can't remember it & want to remove it, you'll have to delete your existing backups & restore the phone as a new device. Your data will be unrecoverable.

The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Error 3194 most often means that your Computer Hosts file is blocking Apple from signing your firmware. Search on your computer for the word 'Hosts'. Open the Hosts with a word processor. If gs.apple.com is present your Hosts file is blocking Apple, and therefore giving Error 3194. A stock Hosts file does not have gs.apple.com in it. If want Apple to Restore your Firmware you will need to remove the lines with gs.apple.com in them.

Try 1 step at a time and do a backup, if no joy then do the next step:
1. Switching off your anti-virus and firewall.
2. Computer iTunes menu > Edit > Preferences... > Devices > delete your backup

Does your iPhone 5 IOS is later than iPhone 6 IOS?
If true, you need to update your iPhone 6 before you can restore from your backup.
If not, is iPhone 6 connected to power supply?

If it says wrong password, evidently what you're typing isn't it. Remember it is CaSe SenSiTiVe, a zero is not an Oh, a one is not the letter l and spaces count.
And make sure you're typing in the same language keyboard it was originally typed in.

HT2623 I have upgraded my Iphone operating system using IO6. Before doing this operation I have backed up the phone and I cannot restore my phone from the backup since it simply does not accept my password.

I've used this same iTunes account multiple times to back up phones and restore them when I've gotten new devices. I have restored this device as well once before, but i want it as up to date as possible becuase I am getting the iPhone 6 tomorrow. I've run a diagnostics test and under the connectivity test its saying there is no iPhone found, as well as under the sync test. I've gone through all the steps and what the possible problem could be (un-installing and re-installing, making sure all the software is active and up to date on my computer and making sure everything is installed correctly and running properly) and I'm still getting the same error message. I'm out of options and idea. Please help!

How do I get my phone back up running when the restore from back-up cannot be performed due to an error?

I attempted to update my software on my iphone 4. The screen now says either set up as a new iphone or restore from back-up. Each time I choose run back-up and press continue it tells me "itunes could not restore the iphone "Sarah's iphone" because an error occured.

That's literally all it said "the back-up could not be restored because an error occured".
Anyway I did the old trick of shutting down the pc, rebooting & trying again.
Then once phone connected & iTunes up it stated my software was up-to-date but the phone was still fairly empty. Then my husband had a look & sorted it all out. Not sure exactly how.

hi last night i backed up my iphone 4s on iclouds and itunes, but today when i want to restore the backup items on my iPhone 5 it is asking me for a password? i havent confirmed any sort of password when i backed up my iPhone. i tried several other codes such as my unlocking iphone 4 digit code but no luck. i hope u all can help me as i really need my backup items

If You Havent Set A Password Ever, Try "0000" Since That Is Apple's Default Passcode.
If That Doesnt Work, Contact BestBuy Again And Tell Them ABout It.

I cannot back up my iPad 1st Gen on the new version of iTunes, I get an error saying it is incompatible. I need to back it up so I can then restore into my new iPad Air.

How do I get around this? The iPad one has the most current iOS allowed for the 1st gen per settings.

this is a follow up from the profane post earlier....
i have done this twice in two other posts..
here is my problem.. i started off trying to update itunes, it failed twice and said i needed to install manually via tools.
the only place to get to tools is the pop up box that appears when you click check for updates.. if there is an available update then the pop up shows up with the quick time and itunes files to download. so i finally figured that out. i clicked on tools and manual update, four files were saved to a file. Apple mobile device support, another one similar, itunes, and another one i cant remember. I only downloaded the itunes file seeing as though thats all i needed to accomplish in the first place.
so then i restarted my computer bc you need to reboot and then reopen itunes for update to take effect. once i have itunes back open i plugged in my new 5s which i am trying to sync to my computer to get all my stuff back bc i lost my previous phone over the weekend.. once i plugged the phone in an error stating i needed to unistall the apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall. well i dont know where those files were originally stored on my computer AND since my itunes was updated, just not the other 3 associated files, when i click check for updates it says its up to date and then pop up containing the quick time and itunes does not pop up thus i cant get back to the tools tab to manually save the 4 files again.
so i was just going to uninstall itunes all together and then i thought well what happens if it erases all my photos apps songs etc... which would defeat the whole purpose in the first place of me trying to sync my new phone to get all my stuff back.
so i literally have no idea what to do at this point.. if you have read this you are probably just as confused as me...

Try hard to remember your security password. There is no backdoor, reminder, reset or anything for security password.
ALSO >> You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise.
