Cannot restore from iClouds on my brand new mini iPad

Just purchased an IPad mini. When I try and restore my info from ICloud, I see my latest backup, but I can't restore it. The message says "no iCloud backups are compatible with the version of iOS (6.0.2 ) on this pad. The iPad 2 that was backuped was iOS 6.1.3. Makes no sense. Had no problem backing up from the iPad 2.

In order to restore a backup to your device it must be running the same or higher version of iOS as the one you backed up.  If your device is running 6.0.2 and the one you backed up was running 6.1.3, you will need to update your device before you can restore the backup.  (You can check the iOS version by going to Settings>General>About>Version.)
After updating your device, you can go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup screens on your device and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts.  You should be able to access your backup this time.
Be sure your device is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • Why so long to restore from iCloud back-up? (new iPhone 6)

I am setting up my new iPhone 6 and the 'Restoring from iCloud backup' stage has continued for at last 6 hours. From all appearances, the iPhone is successfully set up. It's slowing down the device significantly, especially for anything that needs to access the Internet. Should I be concerned?

How much data did you have in the cloud?  What is your internet connection speed? If lots of photos and movies and such then it could take a while if you have a slow connection, Though 6 hours is ridiculous.  I'd unplug and start over.

  • I am unable to restore from iCloud backup because the new phone has iOS 8.1.2 and the old phone has iOS 8.2? Any help.

I Have just bought an iPhone 6 and want to restore my iPhone 4s via iCloud backup to the new iPhone 6. The setup of the iPhone 6 halted because according to the new phone it has iOS 8.1.2 whereas the backups were stored using iOS 8.2 following my updating of the iPhone 4S recently. How do I jump through this hoop? How do I update the new phone to iOS 8.2 without serring it up first? Anyone, please help?

Update the new phone to the same version that has been used to create the backup. In your case, the new device has to run 8.2 to be able to use the backup made with the other device.
Setting it back to factory settings will install the newest version and after that you can use the backup made under 8.2

Same problem here - with my Nokia N73. It finds the computers - a Macbook and a Mini - but cannot connect to send photos to them.
The error message on the phone is : Unable to Connect.
They both seem to work on it for a couple seconds and various BT icons blink and act as if they are about to do something, but then they give up.
I checked Sharing and it is enabled.
I have gone through the pairing process - everything looks fine... but it just won't connect.
I forget when it stopped working, but it used to.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

  • I added a new mini ipad and created a new email for it in icloud when i did that i could no longer get back in my apple ID and download anything and lost all my money on my account. it says my account never excisted which I had from 2007 and 1300 items

i opened an icloud account for a new mini ipad to give them their own email, so they wouldnt be on my account, but when I came back to my account I could no longer get in my account with my password, so my account was gone....and now all the accounts are over lapped and dont work right, I want to get back to my original apple ID and everything I have bought over the last 6 years!!
    what do I do

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • HT1535 I just started my new mini IPad, and when I clicked the network, my connect to iTunes went off, now I can't move on or get that connect to iTunes back on the screen so that I keep going

IT is so frustrating, because I cannot go further without being connected to iTunes..it's a brand new mini IPad, and I gave the network and then the iTunes thing to press to connect disappeared...HELP!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • "Could Not Sign In" when Trying to Restore Icloud on a brand NEW Iphone 5S

"Could Not Sign In" when Trying to Restore Icloud on a brand NEW Iphone 5S
It says "there was a problem connecting to the server?"
Wi-Fi in range, ID and Password Correct.... What is going on?

Check that the email address is correct for your login. You'd be surprised how many times I've seen people see the prompt and just go with a password and not realize that the email address was wrong.
Aside from that, you can try resetting your password via the iForgot app.
If you forgot your password, you can easily recover or reset it using iForgot. For security reasons, Apple cannot reset your password for you. To protect yourself against unauthorized purchases to your credit card, do not give out your password to anyone.
NOTE: If you attempt to sign in to the Apple Online Store numerous times with the wrong password, you will see the following error message: “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons." To reset your account, use iForgot.

I don't want to lose all my pics, songs etc
Whats my next move as I CANNOT use the ipas at the moment!!!!!!!!

Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

    Please help!!!!

You dont have any data on your phone yet right?
If you dont connect your device to the computer and
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
after that click okay when it says itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. Then click restore
    after that try again

Read another post in the forum about this and it appears this app also installs a profile with a proxy service that you will have to try and delete as well. Check that out.

  • HT201418 After restoring from iCloud to new device - strange Apple ID popup on the phone

I have change my iPhone 6 to 6+. I have done backup of the old iPhone to iCloud. When I started restore process - iOS system gave you a question with Apple ID (is this your Apple ID?) as always with strange one. I guess system is always giving suggestion to the Apple ID account latest backup was done to the nearest server of iCLOUD. Of course I have deleted this stranger Apple ID suggestion for restore and I have applied my own APPLE ID.
Restore took some time and was successful.
ISSUE - many times iOS want to connect to iTunes - pop up window is appearing having again suggestion of the same STRANGE Apple ID. It;s annoying and I do not know how to get rid out from my iOS.
I put my normal Apple ID with credentials into iCloud and iTunes setting on iPhone but still strange one pops-up

You probably needed to update the iOS on the new phone.  When it's done, set it up as a new iPhone, then disconnect it from your computer.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (provide the password if prompted), go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.
