Cannot rotate screen orientation

I am attaching a second moniter and need to rotate the orientation that is displayed on that screen.  The hot keys (ctrl+alt+arrows) don't do anything, and there is nothing in the control panel where the drop down option is supposed to be.  This is true for the regular control panel and the intel control panel.  See photos.  I've tried updating to the latest hp graphics drivers and this does not seem to solve the issue.

  • A1000 Cannot lock screen rotation in landscape.

I am trying to lock the screen orientation on A1000L in the landscape mode.  Under accessibility there is a setting to AUTO-rotate screen.  Before unchecking the option I hold the tablet in the horizontal mode. As soon as i do, the screen flips to portrait mode.
Any suggestions?  I can lock my A2107 in landscapem but the A1000 is for my mother-in-law.

If that didn't work, its your system's problem (I mean it is not included in your system). So you can try this app from playstore to solve your issue:-
    ULTIMATE ROTATION CONTROL

This app can lock your tab's rotation in any orientation and can do much more.....

  • My iPad mini cannot rotate!!! but already unlock orientation

my ipad mini cannot rotate but i already try:
    -reset my ipad mini
    -restore

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • My iPhone 5s screen is locked and it cannot rotate. How do I fix this.

My 5s has a lock symbol on the upper right hand side and I don't know what I did to make that happen but I want it gone because my iPhone scarring cannot rotate. Thanks for your help in advance!

Scroll up from the bottom on the screen to get the control screen. The button on the right is rotation lock. Turn it off.

  • The screen orientation won't rotate.

    Please HELP!
I just got my Iphone 4s last month. It's kind of an hand-me-down and I don't know about it's first owner but yesterday it was still fine but when I got home, the screen orientation won't rotate anymore. If I unlock the "portrait lock on" it just reverts back to its landscape orientation and won't rotate no matter how much I turn my phone. I really don't know what to do :(

    Hello there, Halloween.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting issues with performance of an iOS device:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro

  • Screen orientation does not rotate all the way around after downloading be bled game

After downloading 'bebbled' game from apps store the game was displayed upside down in landscape orientation.  Now all apps and home page will only orient to portrait and one side of landscape (upside down). I say upside down because the magnetic strip of the cover must now attach on the side with the switch to use it for a stand but the switch in the way.  Screen orientation does not rotate from landscape to portrait to landscape, it stops at portrait and will not respond at you continue to rotate IPad.

Unusual one. Perhaps it is a bug Ian, or the accelerometer sensor is not responding correctly.
Just tested the movies app (Rotation is not locked) and turns correctly to either landscape or portrait mode in both movies and TV channels.
I flipped over the iPad in the both landscape and portrait mode and the movie correctly flipped to properly view in either mode.

  • I cannot rotate my message screen onto its side, all other apps rotate, any ideas? thanks

Hello,  I have just purchased an Iphone 5 and cannot rotate my messages to get the keypad showing on the side, all other apps rotate, any ideas how to fix?
    thanks

Double tap Home button, delete Messages in the multitask. Press Home button again.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

  • Numbers Screen Orientation

Just imported a Numbers file from my Mac to Iphone 5S. Cannot view it in Landscape. Screen orientation lock is off in Control Panel and other apps, eg Safari, rotate with the phone. Am I missing something?

I also discovered this unwelcome feature. Whoever made this design decision obviously does not work with spreadsheets. If it's a problem for you, I suggest making a post via feedback to Apple (http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html) requesting that landscape orientation be added to Numbers.

  • Why my ipad have problem with the rotation screen

i have a problem with the rotation screen is locked, i try everything but nothing is happening help

If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button

  • REPORT: Bug in OS X's anti-aliasing w/ rotated screen

This is a fairly substantial bug. This may not be the ideal place to post it, but could someone tell me where to submit this so Apple will take notice?
A friend and I both have Mac Pros w/ ATI X1900 displays. This video card supports screen rotation in the OS X Displays control panel. So he went out and grabbed a rotating 1600x1200 Samsung (4:3) display to set next to his 30" Apple Cinema Display (both 1600 pixels tall, when the Samsung is in portrait orientation - a good match).
Have a look at the setup:
    http://www.hubbuddy.com/downloads/dual/DSCN0914.jpg
He has his 'Font smoothing style' in the Appearances prefs pane set to "Medium - best for flat panel." This setting uses subpixeling, providing up to 3x the horizontal resolution of the screen's native pixel width. (More about sub-pixeling here: http://www.grc.com/cleartype.htm )
Sub-pixeling depends upon the orientation of the RGB elements of each sub-pixel cluster that makes up a pixel. When a screen is rotated 90-degrees, the RGB "stripes" run horizontal, not vertical. As can be seen from the below images, where the first image (ONE) shows the rotated Samsung and the second image (TWO) shows the standard orientation Apple Cinema 30", OS X's sub-pixeling does NOT take into account the new orientation of the sub-pixel clusters, resulting in a rather bold and crude rendering of text on the rotated first (ONE) image:
    http://www.hubbuddy.com/downloads/dual/one.jpg
    http://www.hubbuddy.com/downloads/dual/two.jpg
Apple needs to correct this so that people don't have to abandon sub-pixeling and use 'Standard' (greyscale) anti-aliasing. Microsoft takes sub-pixel cluster orientation into account with Windows Mobile (CE) on the Pocket PC's. Surely Apple can get this working with rotated screens under OS X.
Thanks. Where do I submit this?

  • Tablet PC Screen Orientation

I am writing an application for MS Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and need to utilize the hardware rocker switches which come with the tablets. The problem comes when users rotate the screen. Hardware rocker switches have new directions after rotation but generate the same key codes. I guess I need to detect the orientation of the screen and adjust the reactions appropriately. Can anyone on the forum tell me how to find the screen orientation of a tables PC?
    Thanks

I'm not sure, but just a thought... the screen isn't square, so does the Toolkit class return the correct screen dimensions for the screen's orientation? If it always gets the right dimensions, even when changed while the app is running, then you can infer which direction it is (if width is larger then height, it's one way, else the other)... unless you can rotate it to face all 4 sides... then that wouldn't work, I guess.

  • I have the older generation ipad and the screen orientation is locked. I don't seem to have a switch option under General. Can you help me?

Ipad orientation of screen is locked. I don't seem to have the command for switch on general systems settings.
    Any ideas?

If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Cannot Rotate iPhone Images

I no longer can rotate screen to landscape view in any of the applications that support this feature. Is there a setting I need to adjust or is there another problem? I noticed this after I installed IOS 4.0.1 but am not sure that was the direct cause.

Duh, I found the answer on page 32 of the iPhone IOS4 User Guide:
"Lock [unlock] the iPhone screen in portrait orientation (iPhone3GS or later): Double-click the Home button, flick the bottom of the screen left-to-right, then tap the [lock/unlock symbol]."
I had tried to search the Guide for the solution, but could not find it easily. Need to improve my search skills, I guess.
