Cannot route to second network

All pc's and servers use PIX as default gateway (10.133.6.10)
We have a second network/IP line and provider (10.1.0.0)that some pc's will need access to.
I've tried setting a static route to this network on the PIX and can ping it from the PIX but not pc's/servers, unless I change default gw (10.133.1.1) on pc's.
PIX config attached

classic problem.
you are pointing the pc's to the pix as their default gateway right? Pix will not route traffic back through an interface from which it receievd the packet.
You might be able to do a couple of things here.
Depending on the software and hw version, you could run dot1q trunk on the pix to cerate a vlan for other network and that may solve the issue or just point the machines to the other default gateway and have that router have a default route pointing to the pix.

Just go to the wireless network preferences and empty out all the stored wireless networks.. then scan and connect to the local wireless.
Select them and tap the - button below it.
Once they are emptied out.. it might be good to reboot the computer with the remember networks unchecked.
    Start with a clean slate.

  • WRE54G Cannot route traffic

    Hi all,
My WRE54G version 2 cannot route the WIFI traffic to my Belkin router after setup. The setup was made by connecting the WRE54G directly to Belkin router with the following configurations with the Web configuration tool in WRE54G.
    WRE54G
    Name: Linksys WRE54G
    IP address: 192.168.1.150
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    Mode: Mixed
    Channel: 10
    SSID: 54Home
    Wireless Security: Enable
    Belkin Router
    IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    DHCP Address range: 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.100
    Mode: Mixed
    SSID: 54Home
WEP setting of both Belkin router and WRE54G are the same.
Both the link and activity LED on the WRE54G are Lighted in blue.
When connecting WRE54G with UTP wire, I can ping the WRE54G with my notebook with wired connection with Belkin, and I can use the web interface configure the WRE54G. When removing the wire to WRE54G, the notebook cannot ping the WRE54G.
When I test the WRE54G with wireless connection, my notebook cannot get an IP address and it needs to manually assign one. After using the manual IP, the notebook can reach the WRE54G, but not the Belkin Router, nor any connection to the internet.
However, if I disable the wireless network of the notebook and connect it directly to the router with UTP wire, the router is working fine. I switch off the WRE54G, change the notebook to DHCP, it connect back to the Belkin router and internet contivity is also fine.
It seems that the WRE54G did not talk to Belkin on the WIFI traffic. Are there anyone encountered the same problem, and have the solutions?
    Thanks in advance
    Davis

Make sure that wireless settings are same as in wireless router also check the Ip settings in the range extender ... it should be in the range of the router .... If all settings working fine .... & still you are not able to ping the Range Extender when wireless .... Disable the firewall on the laptop for few seconds .... try to ping the Range Extender .... if not ... in such case ... upgrade the firmware of the range Extender ...after upgrade ... reset & reconfigure the router ...

  • Adding a Netgeat router to a network.

Hi guys. I never thought that I'd need to ask this at this point in my life. For years I've been setting up, every now an then only though, small domestic networks and, altough some had taken me time, I've eventually made them work.
Anyway, the current configuration is: One wired/wireless router from which 5 computers take the internet. One of them is mine and the cable length is fairly long, probably about 50 meters. My computer connects, I believe, perfectly to the router. All my computer network settings were automatic. I had to input nothing.
When I connected my Airport Express in order to create a wireless subnetwork, it also automatically set all the addresses and seemed to work straight away. I'm afraid I believe the length of the cable causes the network (now wireless between the AX and my MBP) to become extremely sluggish if it works at all. The webpages kind-of are going to load, but never to completion. I thought this was because the AX after all, imho, is not meant for these tasks but for rather domestic layouts.
I tried then replacing the AX with a proper (so I believed) router: a Netgeat WGR614. I believe it doesn't have automatic network detection so tried setting all the IP addresses manually, basically copy-pasting the settings that the AX adopted automatically, but never got to put it to work. Furthermore, I couldn't access the settings page on the browser because I changed its own address (if anyone know how to access the routers' settings once you've changed their IP address I'd appreciate if you'd explained to me).
So I master-reset the router with that button at the back. Now, as soon as I access the settings they force me to follow some sort of network wizard that leads me nowhere and inevitably (since I always change its IP address) I get left out of the settings.
What do I have to do here? In the past I've added routers to create sub-networks but I cannot do it now, why?
Could the router be faulty? Or could it suffer as well from the same long-distance cable? The router that access directly the internet doesn't seem sturdy at all, but rather cheap, so I blame it mostly. It's a SpeedTouch XXX disguised as a BT Home Hub.
With the Netgear router how do I bypass the wizard and jump straight into the settings page?
    Thanks guys.

    (I have a a WGR614v6 - works great for me in a single-router setting)
The WGR614 is a bottom of the line cheap router - I too had trouble following the built-in wizard when I tried to set it up as a wireless access point add-on at school. To access the admin web page, I just enter http://[LAN-sideaddress_ofrouter]
Adding a second router is a tricky business - you don't want it to be a router, you want it to be a wireless access point only, so that your first router is doing all the usual things: NAT, firewall, DHCP. If you leave it doing router things, your second network will be isolated from the computers in the first router's network.
    Does that help?

  • TS1398 Cannot access my wifi network since updating to OS7

I cannot access my wifi network since updating to OS7. Need wifi to make any changes - even to update for bug fix - help!!

Try power cycling your router. Un plug it, count to 20, plug it back in and let it reboot.
You can also try going into your iPad and 'reset all network settings'.

  • Apple TV3 setup reports that: "iTunes login failed - cannot sign-in until Network date and time has been set".

During Apple TV setup, I have not been able to complete the Home Sharing process. Computer/iTunes Home Sharing is setup, but ATV "blocks" its Home Sharing setup. After my Apple ID and password is entered, ATV reports a failure. Also, attempts to login to iTunes from ATV, ATV reports: "iTunes login failed - cannot sign-in until Network date and time has been set". It directs me to the Network tab, but there's no option to set date and time. I have no clue how to do that.
Help!!! Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to solve this.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are things to look out for to make sure your Apple TV can reach the network time server, such as ensuring port 123 is open and only using the DNS address provided by your ISP, but since it was OK one moment and not the next, my guess is these settings are already correct.
As for the restart, did you try restarting by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.

  • Time Capsul "Guest Network" has gone down and cannot resuscitate .  Main network and back up working fine.

Time Capsul "Guest Network" has gone down and cannot resuscitat.  Main Network and back up working fine.  Suggestions?

Cisco DPQ 2925 is according to Cisco.....a modem/router or gateway type of device that combines the functions of a modem and router in one package. See info below:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/video/at_home/Cable_Modems/3900_Series/ OL-30824-01.pdf
Unfortunately, the guest network feature will not work correctly when the AirPort is connected to the type of "modem" that you have. If that feature is important to you, please check with your Internet service provider and ask them if they can provide a simple modem.....not a modem/router or gateway.
Ironically, we have seen a few posts from users who claim to be able to get the guest network to work with the type of "modem" that you have, but to do so will result in what is known as a Double NAT error on the network......basically two devices both trying to act as the router for the network.
That can result in IP address conflicts and other issues created by the Double NAT such as slow browsing, no browsing, poor communications between devices on the network\, and other unpredictable things.
Sometimes, you can get away with a Double NAT issue on a simple home network, but I would not recommend this type of setup.

  • Cannot get a home network functioning with new bth...

As a relatively new BT infinity customer I simply cannot get a home network up and running...
I have one PC which is hard-wired into the router and two laptops, all running windows 7.  I have discovered from this forum that BThomehubs don't like Windows own homegroup utility so I need to ensure that all devices are on the same workgroup.  OK, done.
Every sharing option is checked and even my printer properties are slected to share all.  The printer is wired via USB into the main PC.  I can 'see' my laptops from the PC and vice versa through windoes explorer but can only access the laptops from the PC, not the other way around which is a pain for transferring files (one of the key reasons for haveing the network in the first place!)
My printer is an Epson all in one PX650 which worked quite happily when I was a Sky Boradband customer from all devices.  Now I can't even see it or seemingly add it to the network... in fact I'm not even sure I have a network in the truest sense.  This is too hard BT when your competitors made it so simple.
Any thoughts will be much appreciated...

Not sure what you mean by that. If you mean set a Starting page for Safari, then you can't. Safari will open up on the last page you browsed. If you close all tabs before exiting, it will jsut open to the gray screen. From there you can search using the google search at the top left of the address bar, or simply enter an address in the address bar.
    mtsue wrote:
I also cannot get my serial number to contact support.
This can be easily obtained by flipping the iPad over and looking at the fine text at the bottom of the backside.
The Serial number is printed there.
Alternatively going into Settings->Geneal->About will have the serial number in the list of things about the iPad.
If you are finding it difficult to navigate around the iPad, perhaps setting up an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store may be usefull. As they have Usage classes you can take.

  • KA780G second network card doesn't work

    Hi everybody,
Today, I put an second network card on the KA780G board (it's for a round robin network), on a free PCI slot, and this card isn't recognised by Linux and Windows  (in Windows XP, when the network card is connected, my graphical card works bad as well).
I tested this network card in another computer and it's working well, I try with another type of network card and it's not working.
I upgraded the BIOS with the latest release and reset the bios parameters but it doesn't work.
Do I need to put some specifics parameters in the BIOS ?
    Someone as an idea ?
    Thanks
    Matt

As you want... but I know the truth
Transfert a file takes me twice the time when the second network card was unpluged (the test was made with two differents files with the same size, this is for keeping disk caching speeding the transfert).
I think, your're not understanding, so let me explain the achitecture of my network : two computers pluged to my "super magic switch" (each with one network card) and my NAS with two round robin's network card.
I transfert one file from the NAS to the first computer and at the same time another file from the NAS to the second computer. The network speed was (on the NAS) about 24MB/s (see with the system monitor).
If you're right explain me why many people using port trunking with their switches ?

  • Path Selection for Routes Across MPLS Network

Customer hub site has two CE routers with two links connected to two seperate PE routers in the Carrier's MPLS network. At the customer's remote site one CE router on a single link is connected to PE router in MPLS network.
How can I configure the CE routers at the hub site to advertised the same network across the MPLS network to the CE router at the remote site? Also, how can I configure the CE router at the remote site to select on of the router as the primary and the other as secondary? Can I use local-preference on the CE router at the remote site to selected on path over the other.
I'm not sure if this makes any sense. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Even with multiple RDs for VRFs belonging to the same VPN, you still need IBGP multipath, correct? Multiple RDs is just to get around the RR restriction.
Also, you posted this message a while back:
"If you have many VPN customers all using the same addresses (most likely rfc1918), the fact that they have different RDs and that the PE prepends the RD to the prefixes exchanged between PEs will make the same prefixes different in the MPLS VPN core
    cust1 advertises 192.168.1.0/24 with RD 1:1 therefore
    VPNv4 prefix is 1:1:192.168.1.0
    cust2 advertises 192.168.1.0/24 with RD 1:2 therefore
    VPNv4 prefix is 1:2:192.168.1.0"
My test lab does not support the IBGP multipath command, and thus even with different RDs, it still only installs one best path.
I understand that RD = make unique VPNv4 routes in SP space, and that RT = what to import into the VRF. However, I am having a hard time visualizing the scenario with mutiple RDs for the same VPN for load balancing purposes. I am trying to understand the logic behind it.
Per your example, if both 1:1 and 1:2 are received by the remote PE, assuming IBGP multipath is enabled, why would the remote PE load balance between the two links? Why would it assume that the hub subnets are reachable via two different PEs, and that it's not two different, isolated VPNs altogether?
Is it b/c you imported both 1:1 and 1:2 into a VRF at the remote PE?

  • Finding a rogue WiFi router on local network

This is likely a very odd and possibly complicated question, but I figure I'd throw it out there anyways.
At my office, we have a couple wireless routers throughout the building. However, one in particular has started to act up. It used to work perfectly, but in the last month or so, it has stopped working. Connecting to it via the password that was set no longer works. Laptops can SEE the network in a list of wireless connections, but we can't log into anymore.
Now, normally a easy solution would be to find the physical router and reset it manually. But here's the problem.
We don't know where it actually is. It was installed before myself or the current IT specialist were hired. We were able to use a Macbook and iStumbler to detect its general location by walking around the building and guaging signal strength. But we still can't find it. It's likely up in the ceiling somewhere. Don't ask me why.
So, I'm wondering if there's a way, be it through an app, Terminal, etc, to detect the router over the network. If we're able to get the IP of the device, maybe we can log into it and possibly fix the problem.
If not, perhaps people know of a good device we could purchase to further locate the physical device it self? I've seen a handful of WiFi detectors, but they usually only show 1-5 bars - nothing more.
    Any insight?

I assume you mean that you have several wireless access points, not wireless routers.
Have your IT Dept disconnect the ethernet cable that connects the Access Point to the main switch or router, and then "tone" the wire to trace it.
    Use one of these:
    http://www.iautomate.com/kp100.html
Another option is to flash the firwmare over the LAN, BUT that will probably default the Access Point to an address already in use and that may create a bigger problem.

Just upgraded to xi platform and easily paired my X1 dvr but cannot pair a second remote to another box in another room. After I hold the setup button till the light turns green then press the infinity button the TV goes to the help menus not the code box

The remotes don't pair to the RNG 150 boxes that you have. You would need an XR8 adapter for each. If you want some, go to the link and leave a message

  • Cannot create new virtual network adapter on logical switch team

I am currently moving from Hyper-V 2012 to Hyper-V 2012 R2 and in turn I have just installed SCVMM 2012 R2. I am using SCVMM 2012 R2 to create some NIC teams which I have done no problem in the past with SCVMM 2012 SP1. Now we have everything set up just
like we did in the past and it seems to create the NIC team just fine. The problem is when I try to create a New Virtual Network Adapter, when I click the button, it immediately says:
VMM cannot create the virtual network adapter. Either there are no VM networks associated with the network sites that the uplink port profile "Logical Network Name" Connects to, or the VM networks associated with those network sites all use Hyper-V
    network virtualization.
Now I've checked and the VM Network is assigned to the logical network that is associated with the Network Site that contains the host I'm working with. I've also tried disabling Hyper-V network virtualization but that didn't change anything and I thought
that it's always enabled on 2012 R2 anyway.
I would like to gain network connectivity to this team at least for testing purposes and we also are planning on building a Hyper-V cluster. Were some new restrictions added in 2012 R2 to prevent creating virtual network adapters in this scenario or am I
    doing something wrong?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your time!

Could not find that setting anywhere.
It's in AirPort Utility, AirPort panel, Wireless tab.
When I'm within the range of the base station I connect normally, but further away the connection drops despite the fact that the other Airport is very close and light is green. Interestingly, my PB Pro has signal almost everywhere in the house, but my iPhone and Mac Mini don't. Most likely just a hardware difference?
In AirPort Utility with the second Express, in the AirPort panel, Wireless tab, have you checked "Allow wireless clients"?
The second AP does show an IP address: 10.0.1.3.
With a "Configure IPv4" setting of "Using DHCP", that suggests that the second Express really is connecting to the first Express. In that case I have no other explanation of your your problem.
