Cannot run Flex sample "SimpleEditor"
Hello,
I am having problems getting started with TLF.
I am running Flash Builder under Windows Vista, I have included all the libs needed but i cannot get the app started.
You can see the errors I am getting into the attached image.
Is something wrong with the libs I try to use... or...??? i have no clue how to get started
Thanks in advance!
Adrian
If you did want to continue using the example with Flex 4 there were a couple of problems.
1) The tlf swcs were double included. You added them and they are already bundled into Flex 4. The 3 swcs are merged into textLayout.swc. I suspect they were different and incompatible versions.
2) The SimpleEditor example source was out of date for the Flex 4 textLayout swcs. Unfortunately as part of the move to open source the most recent examples are no longer posted. I'm trying to get that fixed.

please help, thanks in advance.We have upgraded our WebLogic from 8.1 to 9.2 along with our PeopleSoft 9.0 upgrade and boy-oh-boy, has the WebLogicAdmin console slowed down.
It used to open in about 10 seconds.
Now it opens in roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds.
The heap size settings are the same as they were in the WebLogic 8.1
Even restarting the WebLogicAdmin and associated PeopleSoft PIA's is the worst I have ever seen.

Cannot run some samples: "An internet connection is required"
I installed the Air version of the Tour de Flex Samples on a Windows 7 machine and on a Ubuntu 9.10 machine. All of the samples work perfectly on the Windows 7 machine but many of the samples display the message "An internet connection is required" when run on the Ubuntu machine. Both machines are on the same network. I did see the listing about an Apache server issue on the hosted side of the samples but this can't be the case here since they do work in the Windows environment. Any tips for resolving this issue would be appreciated.
I attached an image that shows the message etc.It happens in Tour de Mobile Flex too.
Running on Android.
And it also happens to every other AIR app for android.
It happens since the beggining of AIR for mobile and I can't imagine why it haven't being reported and dealt yet. -
Cannot run the samples in Flex Builde beta 3
The installation of Flex Builder finished OK. I did choose to
install Flash 9.0 in both IE and FF, but for some reason when going
to the examples it asks me to install Flesh 8.0. Even if I say yes
to th eprompt it doesn't display.
I have even re-installed the flas Active X manually and even
regieterd it as per instructions on the Installation of Flex
Builder 2.0 beta 3 page,, but still no luck...
Any help is appreciated.
ThanksP.S. I asked Chris Agruss (our build and installer guru)
about some
possible reasons why the Flash player installer might have
failed to
work for IE. I've attached his reply.
Rebecca - Adobe
Here are a few cases I know about where the ActiveX plugin
for FP wont
be installed normally:
 IE is running at the time, and especially if activeX
has been run
 Outlook, or some other program that runs the IE
engine under the hood,
is running
 Older ActiveX version installed that needs some Dark
Magic, or
explicit uninstallation of some sort
In the first two cases, where IE is in use, the plugin will
normally be
installed after a reboot, but until then it will look as if
the
installation didnt work.

Cannot run OCCI sample code.. cant find Dbmanager.h
Hi , I am trying to connect to my oracle 10g database and i am getting an error. I downloaded instantclient-sdk-win32-10.2.0.3-20061115.zip from
[http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/winsoft-085727.html| http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/winsoft-085727.html]
Then I used the following ever so popular code
#include <DbManager.h>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
using namespace oracle::occi;
const string sqlString("select empno, ename from employee");
int main(int argc, char **argv)
if (argc != 2)
cerr << "\nUsage: " << argv[0] << " <db-user-name>\n" << endl;
exit(1);
// Initialize OracleServices
DbManager* dbm = NULL;
OracleServices* oras = NULL;
Statement *stmt = NULL;
ResultSet *resultSet = NULL;
try
// Obtain OracleServices object with the default args.
dbm = new DbManager(userName);
oras = dbm->getOracleServices();
// Obtain a connection
Connection * conn = oras->connection();
// Create a statement
stmt = conn->createStatement(sqlString);
int empno;
string ename;
// Execute query to get a resultset
resultSet = stmt->executeQuery();
while (resultSet->next())
empno = resultSet->getInt(1); // get the first column returned by the query;
ename = resultSet->getString(2); // get the second column returned by the query
if (resultSet->isNull(1))
cout << "Employee Number is null... " << endl;
if (resultSet->isNull(2))
cout << "Employee Name is null..." << endl;
cout << empno << "\t" << ename <<endl;
// Close ResultSet and Statement
stmt->closeResultSet(resultSet);
conn->terminateStatement(stmt);
// Close Connection and OCCI Environment
delete dbm;
catch (SQLException& ex)
if (dbm != NULL)
dbm->rollbackActions(ex, stmt, resultSet); // free resources and rollback transaction
return 0;
But the problem is I cannot fint find DBManager.h. I read on a certain post we could use <occi.h> instead of dbmanager but then i get an error with the types
Dbmanager,OracleService and ResultSet. Can anyone please help me out , The code wont even build i am using Visual studio 2010 and i included all the header files.
Did the i download the wrong package or what am i doing wrong ????This website has some sample codes that I want to run, but I'm getting errors. For the very first sample code, I removed ; in line 1 and it reduced number of errors. I can't post image because MS has to verify my account first.
Someone told me that this is missing MFC and main method. I googled and MFC is like SKD made by users. So, my guess is that I need to find the MFC this person used and include them as like #include ".h" and have int main(). Is this true? If it is
true where can I get the MFC? and how do I know which MFC this person used?
MFC stand for Microsoft Foundation Class Library is a library that wraps portions of the Windows API in C++ classes, including functionality that enables them to use a default application framework. To work on MFC you have to download Visual
Studio . As you are new to window So i will suggest you to start with VS2008 onward .And Before you start working with MFC have some fundamental of Win32 As well.
Thanks

Error while running a sample code
Hello,
I 'm getting the following error while i'm trying to run a
sample code which I have imported into Flex 3.

Can anyone help me in resolving this issue.
Many thanks in advance.It's very frustrating that FB stops working when the libs
folder is missing. If you are checking in project files to a source
control app like Perforce, empty folders don't get added, so if you
don't add an initial dummy file, the next time you do a clean sync,
the libs folder may not be there, and even though there is nothing
there, FB complains. :-( -

Cannot run BEA WebLogic 8.1 SP 3 with JDK 1.6
Hi,
Im using BEA Weblogic 8.1 SP3 trying to run a sample where a Robot from Kapow Mashup Server is called from a WebService hosted in the server.
The thing is that I keep getting a EJB Exception: : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/StringBuilder (I attach the full exception below). I realised that by default the server uses the JDK which comes with the software (version 1.4) and that the class java.lang.StringBuilder is only available from JDK 1.5 onwards.
I have JDK 1.6 in my system, so in WebLogic -> Tools -> Application Properties -> JDK Home, I set that folder but still same exception occurs.
Through the Configuration Wizard I create a new “Basic WebLogic Server Domain” and in the step to configure the Java SDK I set the JDK 1.6 folder. However, when I try to start that server I get this error.

If I modify the settings of this new domain an pick a BEA Supplied SDKs, everything works just fine.
Someone can give a hand on that? It seems like Bea WebLogic 8.1 and JDK 1.6 are not compatible. Completely stacked here.
Regards.

I guess client side is completely out of WLS so the jdk to be used on the client side is not set in the environment.
However, the Exception Im getting is on the server side, when it tries to run the code automatically generated from Kapow Mashup Server 6.3. That code is embedded in a jar file, but it seems it makes a call to the java.lang.StringBuilder class which as said before, it is only available from jdk 1.5 onwards.
Should I contact Kapow Mashup Server support to see how the sample code is generated or I am missing something?
Regards. -
I downloaded Jdev 11g and followed instructions for [Oracle Fusion Store Front Demo Application|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/samples/fod/index.html].
The schema and sample data is installed successfully. I am able to compile and build both model and UI projects in StoreFrontModule.jws.
When I run the StoreFrontUI, I am getting below error. Can you please help.D:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\system\system11.1.1.0.31.51.88\DefaultDomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd

I am noticing a problem when running the FOD application, which though not severe, I just thought I will run it by all you experts out here.
When the application opens in the browser, I am unable to see any of the pictures / photos of the products being displayed....they all show that red-crossed-error thing.
Just today I noticed that an error is also getting generated during the application execution:
[java] SEVERE: Error initializing the JMX FRamework SPI "oracle.as.jmx.framework.standardmbeans.spi.JMXFrameworkProviderImpl"
[java] java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
[java] at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
[java] at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39)
Anybody knows what this can be about and how to resolve the same?
I saw the comment above which refers to cleaning up the deployment folder, and I searched my d:\oracle\middleware folder for any folder named drs, but nothing showed up.
Being new to jdeveloper, can someone please tell me the exact steps to fix this error please?
Regards,
Hemant -

hi, all,
We have developped an application on Flex Build 3 (run
successfully), but failed when we try to deploy it on Tomcat with
LCDS 2.5 ES because some components cannot be resolved correctly on
LCDS 2.5. We then downloaded a 2.6 ES Beta 2, but still cannot run
the application, the error msg is "Unable to resolve resource
bundle "datamanagement" for locale "en_US".
anyone knows how to deploy the application on LCDS 2.6 ES?
Many thanks.In your WEB-INF/flex/locale/en_US dir there should be a file
called fds_rd.swc. Is that there? -
Hi
I have created a sample Fusion Web Application(ADF) and created a test.jsp in viewcontroller with few components. I have started the integrated weblogic server and started successfully, but when I run test.jsp it is giving me the below error
Error: Cannot run program "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_21\jre\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\Documents and Settings\chowdamr\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.jdeveloper\DefaultWorkspace"): CreateProcess error=267, The directory name is invalid.
Initially this page is working successfuly.
Please tell me whats the problem.
Edited by: 858782 on May 13, 2011 5:28 AMThere are some problems when JDev's system directory (e.g. the \system11.1.1.4.37.59.23 directory) is in a path that contains spaces (as it is in your case - C:\Documents and Settings\...). Move the system directory to a path without spaces and try again. The simplest way to move it is to start JDeveloper in a "single user" mode (use <tt>jdeveloper.exe -singleuser</tt>) which will create the system directory within JDev's home directory. Of course, if your JDeveloper is installed in a path containing spaces, it will not work either (for example, if JDev is in C:\Program Files\...).
Have a look here for a more sophisticated approach for moving the system directory to another location:
