I have had itunes for years, but up until 2 months ago the quick time will not initialize to run it.

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and delete the iTunes installer. Then try installing iTunes again

  • Missing required files (cannot run iTunes)

Hey guys, every time I finish installing iTunes and try to open it, I get an error saying "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes"
I've un-install/re-installed/fixed iTunes but the same error message appears whenever I try to access iTunes (as a result of iTunes not being able to work, iPod acts like a regular flash drive; i.e. plug in, and it'll open folder, not iTunes)
I've tried looking around for some sort of quick fix, but nothing covers my situation (and I've tried other fixes not for my particular case, but they don't work either)
    Any help/input is appreciated.

This is kind of irritating; is there a proper support center or something whom I could contact and get feedback on this issue?
Your iPod allows you "one complimentary support incident, which must be used within the first 90 days of product ownership." You say you've had your iPod for a month but I'd suggest you hold off using the freebie for a little while and see if we can figure something out here. For a couple of reasons: One, you'll have the complimentary incident available for another couple of months ... just in case ... and two, I don't know if they'd come up with a solution right off the bat.
For the time being can you try running just QuickTime - which iTunes make use of in doing its job - on your computer and let us know how that goes. If it fails to start, report any error messages you get.
Also, you might want to run through the General Installation Troubleshooting section of this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.

  • Cannot open Itunes in Vista.

I have tried all the fixes and nothing works.  Itunes does not open in Vista.  Also, Cannot open itunes in safe mode.

    Many thanks.
Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

  • I cannot run Itunes...

This has happened at least three times in the past month...I have had to uninstall and reinstall itunes to fix the problem, but I don't like doing that...luckily for me, I save my music on my desktop. This is the message I keep getting..."You cannot open the application "iTunes" because another user has it open. Ask the other user to quit the application, then try again...". The thing is, there is no one else here and although I do have a network, my son is the only one on it and he is not running itunes. Please can someone help...I am at my wit's end with this silly thing! Thanks in advance!!

Could your son possibly have an instant messenger widget/plug-in installed that shows "now playing..."
That could auto-launch itunes in his account.
There is also a setting in itunes to auto-launch if an ipod is connected.
Another thing to look at, open task manager
    Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Go to the Processes tab and check the box to "show processes from all users".
Sort on the *Image Name* for the processes so they will be in alphabetical order, and find itunes.exe
It should look something like this, and show what account has itunes open:

I've got the pre-Vista Windows operating system, and suddenly I get this error message re ".. iTunesHelper.exe .. has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."  I see some downloads on the internet to fix this, but I don't know if they're safe.

  • No digital signature, cannot run itunes 7.0 setup???

My daughter's new nano requires a new itunes download, which we did. Our computer rejects it because the file comes without a digital signature. I've disabled part of my security system and actually got the logo to come up but I click, it acts like it is going to do something and then nothing happens. How do I install 7.0 to run her new nano? Do I have to? Can she just use our old itunes (although it won't recognize the nano) to load music? Help!!

  • After latest itunes update, cannot run itunes: get error MSVCR80.dll is missing. What to do?

Tried uninstalling all apple programs, and downloading and reinstalling itunes. But itunes did not install correctly, and it tells me to reinstall. And if I click on the itunes icon I again get the error message than MSVCR80.dll is missing. (This is on my Windows 7 machine.)

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
