Cannot run scripts via GNOME applications menu

I have a few posts in the applications menu, like "Android Notifier Desktop" and the commando runs a script: "/usr/share/android-notifier-desktop/run.sh".
That doesnt work anymore, I have to run it via the terminal now. I think it happend when I upgraded to GNOME 2.32. What to do?

Thanks for your help. Nothing happens when I click the serial number. But I looked in Library/Receipts and found an update for 10.4.9, so I assume that is what I am running. I am also having problems with other applications such as MS Word and I get a different error message that says "Application Launch Failure: The application "Word" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "1<Microsoft Word><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonCore>"" Any advice?

GNOME: Application Menu loses entries

When editing an entry in the Applications menu (say, changing the icon), the entry disappears. Custom application launchers aren't listed in the Applications menu, either, not even after restarting the panel or quitting / logging in GNOME 2.8.
All launchers, both edited and custom ones, are available in applications:/// mind.

Safari 3 cannot run scripts in new window

The problem that I am encountering is that Safari cannot seem to run scripts in a new window. Whenever I click on a link, nothing happens. This occurs on sites like http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/share.html?videoid=0824hd_ccben209 (when I am trying to view the videos) and http://music.aol.com/radioguide/ (Trying to play the stations).
I'm not sure if it's a JavaScript issue or something. I have enabled Java, JavaScript and plug-ins in the preferences pane. I also tried disabling the pop-up blocker but that didn't seem to work. It usually works fine in Firefox (though the nbcolympics site insisted that I didn't meet the browser requirements, when I clearly did.) Sorry I can't provide you guys with much info, I don't know much about web stuff.

No entries in Gnome applications menu

Hello,
Recently all of the entries in my applications menu have dissappeared. I don't know what did it...
I tried rm -rf .gnome* .gconf*, but that didn't work.
Any ideas on how to get them back?

Try adding a new user and logging into Gnome and see if they come back. If so, transfer your files over and delete the old user. It's faster than trying to debug...

Arch Logo & Gnome Applications Menu

Does anyone know how to change the gnome-foot icon to the arch logo?

Error message when running script via package

Hi there,
I have a problem I can't understand - I am running a script from a package, and I get this error message:
CopyCatFinanceError
Invalid dimension ALL_FCSTPRICING in Lookup rule
where CopyCatFinance is the name of the package, and ALL_FCSTPRICING is the name of a parent in the Category dimension.
I don't understand why this member is being flagged as a DIMENSION, when it is only a member. And I don't understand why this is being flagged at all - this dimension has been reprocessed, as has the application (in fact, all the applications), the script has been re-validated and a full Optimise has been run several times...
I am now out of ideas! Any thoughts?
We are running BPC for MS 7.0 sp 7, on SQL 2005.

PS. And there are no lookups in this script either - I'm referencing the category dimension with the %CATEGORY_SET% variable as the user selects this at runtime.

Can you post your logic, also check your lgx files are making sense.

Strange problem when running scripts via packages

Hi there,
I am having problems with a really wierd issue, and I'm just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing.
I have a simple script which copies some data around with the same application, and it runs perfectly when run from the script debugger. But when I try and run it from a package, no matter what path I add into the "MODIFYSCRIPT" variable, the package keeps trying to run DEFAULT logic.
This is from my Formula log after the package has run (and failed, as I temporarily renamed DEFAULT.lgf):
Logic File:E:\BPC\Data\WebFolders\<appset>\Adminapp\work_Force\CopyCatWORKFORCE.lgf
(this is the correct path to my logic file)
But then further down I get an error:
missing file:E:\BPC\DATA\WebFolders\<appset>\AdminApp\work_Force\DEFAULT.LGX
I'm not trying to run default logic, and this doesn't appear in my CopyCatWorkforce.lgf script as an *INCLUDE either.
I have tried to create a brand new package file in BIDS, but for some reason it STILL looks for default even though I haven't told it to!
Any ideas? I'm stumped on this one!

OK, so I have just realised I didn't have the LOGICMODE=1 flag in my MODIFYSCRIPT, which I've now added!
Solved this issue, but now created another one... closing this and will post a new question later...

Cannot run FF due to Application security component. What is it?

During download of FF 4.0, saw this block:
"Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features."
I have no idea what that means or where to start.

11g Report behaves differently in Application Menu than Report Builder !

I m working in 11g Reports and noted some objects, which shows different/no results when run from my application menu (through Web.Show_document & Run_Report_object), but these objects are OK when run in Report Builder (paper layout).

When I run report from my application menu, Formula Column shows no result i.e. 0 ,
but when same run from Report Builder (Paper Layout), formula column shows the right result.

Vertical Lines i.e. these lines are visible when run through Paper Layout in Report Builder, but these lines are not visible when run through my application menu.

Cannot run Smart Print on Win.8.1

Have installed Smart Print latest version on PC running Windows 8.1. No button appears on the task bar and I cannot run it fro the application in HP folder under programs. Can anybody tell me how to get the thing to work?

SSIS is not running in 64 bit production server - Error Class cannot be found while running from c# web application

I have developed SSIS package in my development machine where the OS is 64 bit and sql server 2012 is installed.
The package has excel source and oledb destination. Excel files can be both .xls and .xlsx format. Since i want to run both xls and xlsx format i have installed
32 bit Microsoft Acess database engine form the below link, then both xls and xlsx format worked.
.xls - 32 bit
.xlsx - 32 bit and 64 bit is available. So in common i have to run it in 32 bit.
I have set Run64BitRuntime to False and ran package. it is working fine. I cannot set Run64BitRuntime to True and run the packages. Because i have office products installed on my machine which is 32 bit. if try to install 64 bit Microsoft Acess
database engine redistributable pacakage from below link , it is throwing error saying that, already office 32 bit product is installed so uninstall 32 bit product and install 64 bit.
Excel connection string is Ace database engine only. everything works fine.

Now i am trying to invoke package from c# code by using Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS.dll and it is also working fine in my dev machine.
When i deploy the web application in production am getting the error while invoking package. the full error message is posted in 1st line of this thread.
Then i tried to execute the package in production server by using dtexec utility, it is working fine. I tried both 32 bit and 64 bit dtexec utility by going to specific path (program files(x86) and Program files) via command prompt.
It is all working fine. So the error coming when i invoke from web application. My guess is ManagedDTS causing problem.
Where can i find 64 bit Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS.dll
or is it because of any other problem. i have checked below links, still problem not resolved.

1) "I have set Run64BitRuntime to False and ran package" -> this is not valid outside of your development environment, it is made for simulation purposes as all the dev tools are 32 Bit
2) "Where can i find 64 bit Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS.dll " is basically SSIS. It is quite possibly the culprit. I am inclined to think you attempt to run the package where there no SSIS installed.

Missing Applications Menu in Awesome (- gnome)

I installed awesome. Love it. It's super fun and makes life as convenient as a window manager ever possibly could, without caving in to the ways of the smart-phone computer.
I cheated a bit and had it set up as the window manager for gnome. Not complaining, it makes a few things easier to work with, and it's a bit more stylish. Just thought I'd shoot out one small question...
When awesome is started like this:
exec ck-launch-session awesome
I found I was able to get a very nice applications menu by typing fn+F5
When started alongside gnome in GDM, however, this functionality is gone. I'm guessing that conflicts with something gnome usually does when fn+F5 is pressed (change monitors? idk not important...)
The point is, I really liked that awesome menu!
Granted, it's not the best keybinding in the world. I'd love to change it! But I can't find it anywhere in rc.lua! The config file for awesome contains no instance of "F5" or "Super_L,"or any other form of reference to either of those keys. But it works when I ditch gnome and startx instead!

EDIT: "Mod4+p" also does the trick in awesome; also doesn't work with the desktop environment.
I found

Forgive me for pressing the issue but I want to know exactly what is going wrong during the install process to cause this issue. What preparation needs to be done before running the installer besides the usual permissions repair before and after the install is complete. How would you install from the CD?

I cannot run iPhoto after update to Yosemite. I cannot update iPhoto because the application store does not have any iPhoto update available. Anyone can advice how to overcome this hassle?

After update to Yosemite 10.10.3 the iPhoto program icon is banned and there is an error message that an update is required to run iPhoto, but the application store shows a message that iPhoto does not have any update available at this time. There is not even any iPhoto program available on the application store. Any suggestion on how to solve this annoyance?

Open App Store, sign in with your Apple ID and go to Purchases tab. If you see iPhoto app listed there close down the App Store and do this steps as this is what worked for me:
Open Finder and go to Applications folder.
Locate iPhoto app
Drag iPhoto app from your Applications folder to Trash (NOTE: Do not emptied Trash yet)
Open App Store app and navigate to Purchases tab.
Click on Install button which is next to the iPhoto app (on the right hand side).
Once iPhoto is downloaded again, test it if its working for you. If all is ok, you can remove your Trash.

Cannot run application HRSystem due to error deploying to DefaultServer.

I am new to java and jdeveloper. I am tring my hands on the tutorial on HRSystem. Below is the error message recieved while deploying the application. Dont know what to do please help.

Try removing this directory: /home/oracle/.jdeveloper/system11.1.1.0.31.52.05/ and restarting JDeveloper.
