Cannot Save as Template in Pages '09

I would like to create a template in Pages '09. However, whenever I go to File -> Save as template and try to save it, Pages gives me an error message telling me that I don't have permission to do so. I have selected Get Info on the file and made sure that my permissions were Read & Write (they were), but I still cannot save the file.
I am using Mavericks iOS, which has given me nothing but trouble. I hate it....
Any suggestions?

It is more likely that where you want to save it hasn't the right permissions.
If you hate Mavericks you shold go back to an earlier MacOS.
You have a Macbook Pro. Have you restarted it lately? You could start it on the installation disk you get when you buy the computer ans use the disc utility to Repair permissions.

I found that safari cannot save a script generated page by (File -> Save as). I've written a simple test page as follow:

I guess I'm still not understanding your problem. I took your original script, made the one change as mentioned in my earlier post, and it worked.
It's quite likely/possible that Apple filter javascript embedded in posts - all sorts of nasty things could happen if they didn't, but you're not using Safaro to create your pages, are you?
Just as an example, this seems to do what you describe - copy and paste it into a new text document and see what happens:

The file "Acceptance Letter.pages" doesn't exist. Since installing Yosemite on MacBook Pro I cannot save or export from Pages. Just get the message at beginning of this post. How to solve problem?

Thanks Peter but I was not seeking to store with I-Cloud. In fact I never store documents with I-cloud.
I was in fact trying to store the files to Documents, which is where I usually keep such things.
Have now discovered that if I leave the file untiled and simply close it, rather than saving it then it will save, oddly, to Documents. I then have to re-title it and move to the folder I want it in.
Despite the above, even once it is titled and saved in Documents then if I reopen it I still cannot then Export it to a Word or PDF file. I still just get the message . xxxxxx.pages does not exist!
Bad news as I am constantly exporting documents to Word and PDF to send to others who do not use a Mac

When you edit a Template.dwt and save, DW should ask if you want to update child pages made from that Template. If it's not allowing you to save, maybe your Template contains code errors.

Getting an error message when trying to save a template in Pages. It's saying that it can't be exported as a template. Help!

I'm trying to save a Pages document as a custom template but everytime I try, I receive the following error message:
The document “AuctionItemInfo.pages” could not be exported as “AuctionItemInfo.template”.

Several users have had this problem in Mountain Lion. The system has decided you don't have read/write permissions. Have you done any updates to your system lately? Using Disk Utility to repair permissions after any upgrade or update, especially to the system, is a good practice. So first, I would repair permissions & then if you still have the problem, locate the file in Finder & go to File > Get Info & look in the Sharing & Permissions section. You should be the only one with read/write permissions but something has happened. Click on the words under "priveledge" next to your name & change it to read & write. You will probably have to enter your admin password.

It's not possible. You can't create templates in iCloud.
Templates you create on your Mac can't be saved in iCloud.

OS error -43 cannot save pages

Another user asked about OS error -43 and was apparently able to resolve it by changing permissions.
I am having this same trouble on one of my GoLive-created sites, but I have not used a second computer. Specifically, I'm unable to create new pages or save a template HTML page. I did have a computer meltdown some time ago that evidently messed up permissions, which I thought I had corrected by going to the file info. contenant Templates > My Templates
comme il y a un dossier
iWork > Numbers
contenant Templates > My Templates
Depuis le Finder, tapez cmd + f
puis configurez la recherche comme sur cette recopie d'écran.
puis lancez la recherche.
Ainsi, vous allez trouver vos modèles personnalisés dans leur dossier.
Chez moi, il y en a une kyrielle en dehors des dossiers standards parce que je renomme wxcvb.template quasiment tous mes documents Pages et wxcvb.nmbtemplate à peu près tous mes documents Numbers.
Ainsi, quand je travaille sur un document, je ne suis pas ralenti par Autosave.

Where to install templates for Pages or even Keynote?

Just wondering what do you do with the templates that one downloads for either Pages or Keynote?

When you do a Save As Template, Pages automatically stores the template in the Pages package, away from the prying fingers of most users. You access it from the Template Chooser, under My Templates.
The ones you download from other sources can be put anywhere you want -- in your Pages folder, in your Apps folder, on your desktop, wherever. Or you can load it in Pages, do a Save As Template, let Pages file it for you, then delete the one you downloaded.

We're currently experiencing some issues saving a site as an template.
This is the error we get in the event viewer:

I've looked everywhere for this error and all the sites point to a permission issue; I've check that already: it isn't. We've tried creating this template via PowerShell, C# command line application, SharePoint Designer and the savetmpl.aspx page at the
site itself: no result; Yes, it is a publishing site, but that didn't stop us. We've created a site template from a different site and the publishing feature was also enabled there.

The annoying part is: the folder that is being created by the web application pool user when saving the site as a template is totally empty!

According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error “Error saving solution to temporary file” when you tried to save a publishing site as a template.
For your issue, please make sure you have set the SaveSiteAsTemplateEnabled property of your publishing site to true. You can refer to the PowerShell script as below:
# Get a reference to the target site
$web = Get-SPWeb http://Intranet.SWRanger.com/Publishing
# Update the property bage value and set it to the string value "true"
$web.AllProperties["SaveSiteAsTemplateEnabled"] = "true"

I have purchased pages for both machines separately and presumed they would work without a hitch. Am I missing something?

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

Cannot Save Workflow as a Template. It is a resuable WF . It was working until last week. Suddenlly it gives an error saying - Cannot find Site Assets Library. Site Assets Library does exist . Please Suggest !!

For those who might face similar issues in future - There were couple of broken list on the site. Deleted those broken list. The Designer Link to list/ Libraries got restored. Everything works as expected now.

Depends on which version of the program you're using, of course. But you CAN set a font style and size and your default in most versions of the program.
