Cannot save Crystal Report to BO Enterprise

I am running Crystal Reports XI R2 and Business Objects XI R2. I opened a report from the enterprise in Crystal Reports to modify it. After making changes, I tried to save the modified report back to the Enterprise. I received the following message:
"Failed to read data from report file {path of temporary location of .rpt file}. Reason: Unable to launch C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\plugins\desktop\CrystalEnterprise.Report\ReportAdd program to add report to the system."
I have verified that the reportadd.exe file is in the specified location.
A co-worker that uses the same computer set-up as I do is able to save to the repository. We have compared our configurations and have not found anything different in our software versions, etc. as far as BO and CR are concerned. The only thing that is different between our PC's is that I have Crystal Reports 8 installed also. This has not been a problem in the past, though, and I did not use CR 8 to modify the report; I used CR XI R2.
Can anyone tell me what condition triggers this error? If I knew that, maybe I would have a better idea of where to look for differences in our systems and, therefore, successfully resolve this issue.

The system will not allow me to export the system crystal report....it is grayed out, and it IS a crystal report. HOwever I can open it in crystal, then save it to my desktop, then from INSIDE of SAP in the report and layout manager I import the crystal report I made the changes to from my desktop into SAP and it saves and imports no problems. However when I go to view the report (and this is only the ones I import), it prompts me with the db login for our server to connect, and it is only with that report, once I enter sa credentials it is fine and shows up from there on in, but not if I log out of SAP and back in...then I have to put in my credentials again. Is this something having to do with the report when I make changes to it? I cant have users entering login info each time they run the new aging details report. Please advise what I may be doing wrong when I make changes to a crystal report. It was a very minor change....just moved a feild width.

Cannot save Crystal report layout or view new layout of report

I am trying to make a change to a system crystal report (cust. recievables detailed aging). I had to make the date feild a little wider, so I edited the "system layout" that came with SAP (in my test DB of course), and I go to add-ins>sap business one>save. I get the following error "current user has no permissions for this operation". I am logged in as a superuser and full perm.
If I "save-as" and save it to a layout in sap....when I go to open the aging with my newly created layout it freezes and asks for DB logon info to connect to my server from crystal. I do not normally have to do this when I preview my reports in the out of the box layouts. WHat am I doing wrong? I am new to crystal.

Scheduling Crystal Report in BO Enterprise -- running Failed with an error

Hi all,
       I have scheduled a crystal reprt which is published in BO Enterprise. I have scheduled such that it should run right now. when i choose schedule, in the History screen of that particular Report Document, it is showing the status as Failed.
       I cecked the Instance Details of that particular instance in History Screen, it is giving me this error message:
" Error in File ~tmp1f905fddf0fb274.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters ".
       I have choose ' set to null ' to all parameters in the Parameteers Screnn while scheduling, as all the parameters are optional.
Please suggest how to go ahead with this error. I am new to BO Enterprise, I have to schedule crystal report in the Enterprise.

Cannot export crystal report in excel format from crystal report viewer

This problem occurs on only one workstation.
Open Advanced Reports > Enter workorder # > Click on 'workorder work(uninvoiced)' > Work order opens.
Click on icon "Export report"
Save as type: change to .xls
Error: Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer. Error in file
SAP.......rpt:
Error detected by export DLL:
Export failed.

Try adding c:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 to your windows enviroment variable PATH then restart.

Crystal Reports hanging in Enterprise

Just suddenly we are facing issues with some of the crystal reports . they were working fine in Business objects up to yesterday but today they are hanging , even when we try to open/modify parameter they hang. we are using Crystal report 2008 and BO R3.1.
evnthough some reports hangs the others just run fine.
we noticed that , the reports which are stopped working are the ones that have " Printer Option" unchecked in Crystal Report designer . when we open these reports in designer and check that option on pagesetup and save them back in enterprise they are working.
I have no luck to find the rootcause of this issue. what have changed that caused this issue.
It is happening on both test and production environments. I read somewhere on forum that it might be related to printer driver, but we haven't updated any driver and nothing seems to be changed.
any ideas?

In the page setup put the option Microsoft XPS Document Writer in the Printer option before publishing it to BO Server .

Cannot install Crystal Reports Server 2008 and Client Tools on same machine

I am having trouble setting up Crystal Reports Server 2008 with Client Tools on a new Windows 2003 SP 2 machine. The Server 2008 package installs OK (built-in MySQL server, built-in Tomcat 5.5 server). Reports run okay. But my customer wants to run reports that use Salesforce as a data source, so I tried to install Crystal Reports Server 2008 Client Tools (needed for Salesforce support, apparently). I receive this error:
'Business Objects product detected: cannot continue with install'. Installation of Client Tools immediately terminates.
Oddly enough, when I uninstalled Server 2008, the Client Tools installed successfully. Then I tried installing Server 2008, and I got the same error message as with Server 2008. What the heck?
Any ideas on how I can get Server 2008 and Server 2008 Client Tools to live in harmony on the same machine? We were able to do this with a (otherwise overloaded) Win2K3 server before.

Typically the client tools are installed with enterprise by default. If not then you would want to use add/remove in control panel and select them. The installer thinks you are trying to install enterprise on top of itself and thus the error.

Crystal reports 10 and Enterprise sql nolock

Occasionally we have an issue where it seems the Crystal Reports Enterprise server causes a lock on one of our databases. Doesn't happen all the time and we have not been able to narrow it down. This prevents all users from connecting to the database and working...this is obviously not good. When we find out we kill the PID in sql that is causing the lock. Then all is fine.
My question is whether there is a way to perform a query using nolock in Crystal Reports 10 or of configuring it on the Enterprise server? Is this called something else in Crystal?
I realize that this could lead to reading uncommitted data or that data may change while I am reading it, etc...but I would rather have a bad report every once in a while than to have it lock up the database every once in a while. If there are other problems resulting from using nolock or a similar command let me know. Is this possible?
I looked into connection strings as well and couldn't find a way to specify locking or in this case no locking.
I would change the SQL query in Crystal Reports but this functionality seems to have been removed since version 8.5. If there is a way to edit the query directly that would be acceptable as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I just upgraded from Crystal 8 to 10 and of course didn't discover this issue during my testing, never thought of it, but then locks (in sql it shows as blocking) started showing up during production locking people out of the database and bringing production to a hault. I have searced for two days and cannot find a way to stop this, I was hoping there was a setting in Crystal to preventing blocking, or maybe something I could add to the select statement, someone said I could add 'noblock' but I can't find any info on this.

LOV issue for Crystal Report 4.0 ( Enterprise ) using the BICS connection

I am working for one our client which is using Crystal Report Enterprise 4.0 SP 2 i am facing the following problem with the LOV .
- I have created the crystal report on top of BEx query using the OLAP connection in CMC .
I have the variable at BEx query level which have list of value around 100 K and user want to search through that LOV in order to make his selection but as soon as i include that variable in my Query and run my CR my report crashes and i cannot run the report .
I gave the user the option of manual input of value to that variable it does not work as it uses the BICS connection and i read somewhere we cannot use the manual input in case of BICS connection for crystal report you have to select the value from the LOV .
My Question is is there any workaround if we can restrict our LOV to some extent and let the user to select and search from that any setting if we have at query designer level to restrict the LOV to burst in the report .
Any input will be appreciated .

User cannot access Crystal reports after user was deleted and recreated

We are using Crystal Enterprise XIr2. We are using Windows AD authentication. We had an issue with a user where they were deleted in Active Directory. Now they can no longer run Crystal reports. When I go into the CMC and open users I see this user. When I try to open this user I get the following error
There was an error while retrieving data from the server: Active Directory Authentication failed to get the Active Directory groups for the account with ID "8B003DF11D45B244AC3B61AB36B6C445:ALLENDG". Please make sure this account is valid and belongs to an accessible domain.
I think Crystal is still trying to access the user's old Active Directory account.
I cannot delete the user either in CMC.
Is there someway I can correct this user.

Arjun - Thank you for your help. I looked in Central Management Console but I could not find what you indicated.
CMC--> Public Folder --> Administration Tools
In administration tool, there are two objects
1) Update Windows AD Group Graph
2) Update Windows AD Group Graph and Aliases --> Right click on this Report and click on RUN Now.
I ended up deleting the records for this user in these SQL tables and then user could access InfoView
CMS_Aliases5 (2 records for this user)
CMS_InfoObjects5 (1 record with both aliases)

Cannot import Crystal report to a CA DB

Dear All,
Our client has a Crystal report. When we import it to CA DB, we got an error: SAP B1 was not able to import the following report / layout.
When we run the report from Crystal report >> add-ins >> SAP b1 >> preview in SAP B1, we can preview it no problem.
We import the report to their US DB, it works fine.
We import the report to a test CA DB we created long time ago, it works fine. This means, it is not a localization issue.
I have another Crystal report, I cannot import to the CA live DB too.
Since I am using manager user (super user and have pro license), it will not be a user authorization or license issue.
Is there anything wrong with their DB? Should I log a support message to SAP? I am not too sure if this is a support issue. Thanks in advance.

Cannot save status report in cProjects

Hi,
I cannot save project status report in cProjects. When I click the save button, it just shows the timer showing saving icon but never comes out of it.
Could anyone please help and guide me where the problem lies?

There may be mainly two reasons
1) As neil say check your ADS Installation
2) Check the IMG setting as follow
Collaboration Project --> Basic Settings --> Form for printing and project Status Report
in that use Activate forms per Project type .
Select your project and click on right hand side PDF print form
you will find the list of status report , check there status report print form is active or not.
if you standard
then DPR_STATUS_REPORT_AIF Is activated or not.
3) Collaboration Project --> Basic Settings --> Form for printing and project Status Report
in that check the BADI
DPR_STATUSREPORT_PDF AND
DPR_STATUSREPORT_AIF
Is ACTIVATE OR NOT
if you create your own status report form you need to create BADI .

Cannot install Crystal Reports 2011

I tried to install Crystal Reports 2011. I followed the steps suggested by a SAP contact person and when I tried to run set up file, I am getting the following error: Install cannot proceed, Unalbe to install a product with a higher version over a product at a lower version Please use the appropriate patch...............

Has anyone managed to work this out. I am getting this also. Seems I cannot install sp2 or higher because of this message.

Cannot Install Crystal Reports for Eclipse v2.0 on Mac OSX

I've tried to install the Crystal Reports plug-in to my Eclipse environment without any success. No matter what I try, I get the same error message:
"Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Missing requirement: 1271104370856 0.0.0.1271104370856 requires 'com.businessobjects.crystalreports.integration.eclipse.feature.feature.group [2.0.6.r916]' but it could not be found"
To the best of my knowledge, I've installed all the correct pre-requisites listed on the SAP website. I've tried every search I can think of and have found nothing that helps.
I'm at my wits end...please help!

Note that the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 2.0 plugin is not supported nor tested on MacOS, regardless of version.
Feedback I've gotten is that the installation fails for the embedded designer components.
The Crystal Reports Java SDK runtime components - the library used to run rpt files on desktop of web apps using Java - is supported and tested on MacOS 10.5
You'll note that the Supported Platform guide for CR4E 2.0 is specific in listing support only for the Runtime.

Cannot View Crystal Report Outside Company (Red X)

I just publsihed a website to the web and when I try to run the crystal report from the net I get a red x. Internally it works fine. I copied the Virtual directories from the default website to my extranet site. E.G. Crystalreportsviewer115 and businessobjects.
I use recrystalize which creates the .asp pages with parameters and uses active x plugins. I do not get prompted for the active x plug in outside the company. Any help would be much appreciated.

Appreciate the response. I tried your first article in regards to dynamic images with no luck. I was a bit confused on granting access to the C:\Temp folder with an asp account. I cannot find the asp account is it a network account? Is it listed in AD?
- just right click on the temp folder (C:\windows\temp). Choose properties and then go to the Permissions tab. Add the ASP net worker process and give it full control.
I did create a new web.config file. When you say comment out do you mean remove? If so that is what I did. Nothing has changed. I am running XI R2.

Cannot run Crystal report in SAP

Dear all,
I install the crystal report add-on and upload a report. I also installed CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.exe
When I preview the report, I got this error message
Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, version=12.0.2000.0, culture=neutral,publickeytoken=692fbea5521e1304' or one fo its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
