Cannot save settings bridge CS3

I am trying to set my window prefs under save workspace in bridge CS3, but instead using this command undoes my workspace configuration completely. I am on a MAC PRO with leopard, 3 hard drives and 10 GB ram. Everything is up-to-date, permissions etc. Also, photoshop CS3 freezes repeatedly using photoshop filters (not plug-ins!). This is not the computer - Apple sent me a new one just to be sure!

First of all, i am not the only one having these problems if posts are anything to go by. I have tried a new user = same problem. I have done a clean re-install - same problem. Now I am actually on a new Mac Pro! - courtsey of Apple. Disk Warriror does not work on this Mac Pro - they have emailed me a work around, but I did not understand it. Copied and pasted as follows:
On the contrary, DiskWarrior 4.0 will absolutely repair the directory of
the new Mac Pro running Leopard. The issue is simply that the operating
system on CD revision 40 is not capable of booting that model.
To start up the recently released Mac Pro (early 2008) you will need a
DiskWarrior CD with a more current operating system.
We are currently awaiting an updated operating system from Apple so as
to create a DiskWarrior CD to start up these computers. We do not
currently have a timeframe on availability of this updated CD.
In the interim, you might utilize one of the following configurations to
use DiskWarrior 4.0. Please read the information about DiskWarrior 4.0
and Leopard at our web site before proceeding:

(1) Alternate Startup Disk: If you have another drive (such as a
secondary internal drive, an external FireWire drive, an iPod with
FireWire, or a USB 2.0 drive) you could install OS X (the version which
shipped with your computer or higher) on that drive and then start from
it. Install DiskWarrior on that drive's "Utilities" folder, (which is
inside the "Applications" folder) and run DiskWarrior from there.
(2) Target Disk Mode: Connect two Macs with a FireWire cable where the
one is the "host" and the other is a "target". The host Mac should be
running OS X (10.4.x or higher). In this scenario, the target Mac is
the new Mac Pro that cannot be started from the DiskWarrior CD. Start
by shutting down the target Mac. Then turn it on while holding down the
"T" key. The target Mac's drive will appear as a usable drive on the
host Mac. Run DiskWarrior from the host Mac and rebuild the target

[WRT310N] Single Port Forwarding - Cannot save settings

Alright, I updated the firmware on my WRT310N (actually after contacting support asking if No-IP.com was added to the DDNS settings, and I was told that the new update would include it, which it didn't) to v1.0.07-LS-HND and now I cannot save any settings in the Single Port Forwarding settings. I've tested with both Firefox 3.0.7 and IE7.

RV220W Cannot save settings with IE9

Nothing happens when clicking the SAVE button after making changes on the VLAN Membership screen when using IE9, but it work fine with IE8.
Has anyone else experienced problems using IE9 during configuration?

I did try compatibility view without any luck and the config page is also set as a trusted site. Java scripts are allowed and AxtiveX filtering is off.
Simply upgrading to fw 1.0.4.17 required a reset to factory defaults which is why I'm having to set up my VLANs all over again. Having changed back to IE8, I now find that I can't add a second VLAN to matter what I do. I'll post this new behaviour in a thread.
I can't even begin to put into words (without swearing profusely on this forum) what a nightmare this router has been over the past year. To add insult to injury, I've never been able to use it for the primary reason I bought it: VPN!

Unable to save settings in mail app for Mac OS X for iCloud mail?

I have two questions really.
1: I wanted a new email address, was happy to see I could create an iCloud email address - but it seems you need an initial email address to have an iCloud email address. As in, I couldn't use it as my apple ID?
2: I cannot save settings for my iCloud mail because the incoming server is 'greyed out' and the mail app identifies this as the incoming server being blank which it isn't, but I cannot edit it as the 'greyed out' font is locked and unchangeable. Apple state that the incoming server should read as:
Server name: imap.mail.me.com
But mine reads this and it won't let me change it. Other wise the email works, but I do need to adjust the settings etc and I can't because the incoming server is apparently blank when it isn't.

I hope this made some sense to someone. I simply wanted a new email address and it's taken up the best part of an afternoon.

Problem Solved(ish)
I had to Apple chat, iCloud is set a certain way, and that's it.
They edited my full name FOR ME (I know).
Password is made to match your Apple ID, so that's how to change that.
As for Mailbox behaviours, as I said above - On the left side bar of Mail app, right click or Command Click under Mailboxes iCloud.com and select Get Account Info then> Mailbox Behaviours. Your settings will save then without the whole 'Can't save settings when incoming server is blank.'
I hope Apple will soon make that if they must have an auto-filled Incoming Server, that the Mail app will not recognise it as blank so that we can at least edit Mail preferences when and how we like it.

Cant Save settings any help ?

I have a 46rv525u lcd Television and cannot save settings after changing them.I have a vision impaired son and must have the brightness turned up but soon as the set is turned off it resets to default. Same as the speakers that I want off as well.

Tho, it managed to send the test file over to the location when i check it out at ftp.coca-cola.com (username and pasw). Cannot open file in Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) from Bridge CS3 (2.1.1.9)
Tried choosing File>Open and double clicking the image thumbnail
Error dialogue box pops up and reads:
Windows cannot find\C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Photoshop.exe
I wouldnt expect CS\Photoshop.exe to be found because CS3\Photoshop.exe upgrade is installed.
Will downloading the Adobe Photoshop update for Adobe Photshop CS3 (11/15/2007) or Adobe Bridge CS3 update for Adobe Bridge CS3 (11/15/2007) be my best bet for correcting this problem?

For fellow Windows XP user's:
Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types
It would have been nice if the Install Wizard of PS would have handled this automatically or had an advisory instruction to manually associate image files in Windows XP.
I thought all along this was a Photoshop CS3 / Bridge CS3 problem since Bridge was calling for both the image file and Photoshop.
If Freeagent has anyone's ear at Adobe please pass this on.

Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

Cannot save Adobe PDF Settings File error

I'm using Acrobat X Pro with Windows 8. I've downloaded a .joboptions file to add to Distiller. I select Settings > Add Adobe PDF settings, browse to the file's location, select the file, and click Open.
Distiller says, "Cannot save Adobe PDF Settings File."
In the Start menu, I right-clicked Adobe Acrobat X Pro and selected Properties > Compatibility > Run this program as Administrator. It didn't help. Suggestions welcome.

I downloaded it from the linked website, and installed it successfully in Distiller 10. I don't know of a "Repair" utility for Distiller, so maybe you should uninstall and install Acrobat X in order to reinstall Distiller 10.

Cannot save VPN settings on playbook

Hello, I'm running OS 2.0.1.358. I can set all VPN settings but when I hit save or save and connect they both go dim and it never saves. I've tried rebooting and setting up VPN multiple times, for some reason I cannot save any VPN profiles. Has anyone seen this before? I've checked around and cannot find anything. Thanks,

Nikon D60 - Bridge CS3 cannot write Metadata

{This is a follow on to thread: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6704d/1} It appears that Bridge CS3 is unable to write some of the IPTC metadata to pictures taken with my Nikon D60. When trying to change some metadata in a file I get the message "There was an error writing metadata to <filename>" Strangely this does not happen with all metadata fields. For instance, I can change the IPTC Core "City" or "Location" and the change works just fine. However, if I try changing IPTC Core "Creator" or "Copyright Notice" I get that error. I have confirmed that the problem is with the D60 pictures, as it occurs in two different machines (Both CS3, one Vista, one XP). Both machines are able to edit other camera's pictures OK. All files are in JPEG format, I have not tried anything in RAW format. I did find in a completely different forum (for BreezeBrowser, which I've never used) a reference to a similar problem. At least in that forum they mention that the Nikon D60 uses a "different" way of storing metadata which leads to the problem. BreezeBrowser will release a new version to address this issue. Any idea what the solution might be for Bridge and other Adobe products? Thanks! Carlos

I don't have my camera with me at the moment, so I'll have to shoot in NEF later. However, just for kicks I downloaded the latest version of ACR and checked against my current version. It appears to be the same (same size, same timestamp). I even replaced it, per the instructions with the download. No love.
As mentioned in my original post, the issue is limited to a few fields, in particular "Creator" (XMP) or "By-line" (IPTC). I went and added new data to this field using ExifTool. I added it to both IPTC and XMP fields since I know Bridge synchronizes them. The change took, and Bridge noticed it. But now Bridge will not let me modify any XMP/IPTC metadata. It won't even let me change the rating of the file!
I'm really at a loss here. I've searched through other threads and haven't found anything to enlighten me.

Cannot open my G11 raw files in Bridge CS3.

I just downloaded my G11 raw files onto my computer. Usually, I do a quick glance in Bridge CS3 but they do not open. I do have Photoshop CS4, but that doesn't help me, right? What do I need to do to open these? I've already updated my Bridge CS3 to 2.1.1.9.
I am using Mac G5, OS 10.5.x.

But be aware that CS4 comes with ACR 5.0
You will need to update it to version 5.6 for the G11.

Photoshop CS3 cannot save files (something happened)

Hi, all has been fine for a long time but all of a sudden I cannot save anything. Doesn't matter if I open a jpg file, or start a new file in PS and draw something, when I hit save or save as I see a dialog flash and disappear and the focus has gone from the main PS window and cannot get it back. The dialog is NOT in the tasklist, so I cannot alt+tab to it, so the only way to quite PS then is using the windows task manager!
Anyone encountered this before? I've not done anything between the last time I used it, and as far as I am aware it has not updated (but might have done).
Windows XP PRo, Dual Core Intel, 2GB RAM (tried restarting windows, only 600MB RAM in use after restart).

that's good henry, but it suggests you didn't successfully clear the preferneces as that would reset the location of the dialog as well.
hey bob levine, i've been hearing this over and over, that esc will cancel a hidden dialog (that we already knew) but that it will reset next time shown. seems like maybe something has been added to the code to make this happen as it never did before, but this is like the 3rd or 4th time i've read this...
maybe something should be added to the start of the faq on "dialog box is missing". like:
]"First: hit ESC and see if control returns to the program, try the operation again to see if the dialog position has been reset.
]If not continue to try the other options."

Cannot see "Save Settings" Option

I am trying to configure my wireless router but am unable to even see some options or the "Save Settings" button to save. Is there somewhere I can download software to fix this issue. Basically the router webpage comes up but with errors.

Try disabling the firewall & antivirus software on the computer ....
Click start >> Control Panel >> Internet Options >> Delete cookies & files >> Clear history >> Click OK ... Close the browser & again reopen it ....
Also try using any other computer ....

Bridge CS3 shows no thumbnails??

Adobe Bridge CS3 has been working fine for quite a while. I have been having
some problems with my System (C) drive, where it and Photoshop CS3 are
installed.
I swapped out the C drive, and restored an image of the drive, and most
items are working OK. But I'm guessing that Bridge may have suffered some
"corruption", prior to when the image was made.
When I open Bridge CS3, it opens normally. with the files listed on the
lower left, but there are no thumbnails visilbe for any images. Momentarily,
I did see some for one folder, but now they are all not showing anyting at
all in the thumbnail or individual window on screen.
Just for kicks, I double clicked in the middle of where the thumbnails
should be, and an image then opened in Photoshop. So they appear to be
invisible, but present.
Any suggestions here? Is repair install needed, or is there a setting
somewhere that has gotten messed up, that can be simply fixed??

Hi John, I just took a look at my settings now in Bridge CS3. That box is not currently checked, and the Bridge Cache files are no longer in the associated folders. Apparently this was not the case prior to my problems. I don't remember ever making a choice here. The centralized cache obviously makes it easier to purge when problems come up. Are there any negative aspects of using the centralized cache? What I cannot understand is how essentially all the cache information in a hundred folders in my image tree on my D drive suddenly all became corrupted at the same time. There must have been something else on the C drive that caused this. In recent days, I was in the process of replacing my C drive due to strange happenings, and restoring an image of that drive to the new drive. I would have to beleive that on C drive in a Brdige folder somewhere, there was a "master" controlling file or ?? that worked with the cache, and it got messed up.
