Cannot save to PNG format ?

Hi, (Photoshop CS5 newbie)
I have been putting together a birthday cadr for someone and adding layer after layer with many his res images etc., I have saved the beast in the default PSD format and it weighs in at a massive 388,963 KB. Photoshop doesn't let me save in any other format, ie JPG or PNG, even after flattening the layers and reducing the image size.
Q. Is there an threshold in terms of size that limits the output file type?
Q. Please suggest a way forward so I can save as a JPG or PNG ?

"Attempting"??? What do you mean "attempting"? Just do it. Well make a copy if you don't understand what you're doing, and convert the copy.
The dialog box is telling you what you should already know. Namely that "reducing the bit depth" (i.e. going from 32 bits to 8 bits) will affect the colors of layered images. That's OK, because the PNG format does not support either layers nor 32 bits, so there's no other way of doing it.
Yes, Merge the layers, and Convert to 8 bit. Then Save as PNG or JPEG.

After opening a raw file in PSE editor it seems that I cannot save it in JPEG. The closest thing is JPG2000.
I'd like to save a few files in JPEG since I use Qimage to print and it looks like Qimage does not recognice CS2 files.
What am I missing here?

You might be in 16 bit mode. switch your image to 8 bit and try again.

Yosemite iPhoto cannot "save us" different format or size photo

I upgraded my iMac to iOS Yosemite, and upgraded my iPhoto to latest version. I cannot find the "Save As" command to save my photos in a different format and smaller sizes. Save As used to be an available command.

Converting forms to fill them in is never a good idea; if they are official forms it can be a catastrophe. Keep the forms as PDF, don't convert.
XFA forms are ALREADY FILLABLE. If you can't fill it there is a fault.

Cannot save alpha channel as PNG. need help.

Hi, I am running PS CS5. I am working on my business logo and love the way it has turned out with a texture I added as a new channel (alpha channel). I am using a transparent background on my image, the only compatible way to save is PNG format.(and this is the only way to go with my website restrictions) So when I go to save as a PNG it isnt saving the new channel I have made. Is there any way around this? Any suggestions would be very helpful. I worked all day on this logo only to find that I cant save it the way I like it. frustrating..................

Ok, maybe this will help matters. In the beginning I did a google search on how to get the "distressed" look on my logo, this is the link I found, I did all that he said and did acquire the look I want, now I am having trouble saving as a PNG. When I choose to save as a PNG the alpha channel does not save (when I open the saved PNG file the alpha channel is unchecked). I dont know a whole lot about PS, I am new and dont understand alot of the lingo that alot of you are using, but maybe if you see the steps I took on this link then possibly someone may be able to help me. I can save in png format but whenever i tried to open the
saved png file..i get this error message "Could not open file. An
internal error occurred"...i open a small jpg file and then saved
in png format without doing anything...it still wont open...
First tell me what is wrong with fireworks?
have tried deleting the preference files
reinstallation
still cant make it open its own format file..what the

jpg does not support Layers.
Just to make sure, what exactly do you mean by "stacking photos" and what do you want to achieve thereby?

Photoshop CS3 .png format not appearing in the "Save As" drop down?

I have been searching all over the internet and forums like this for a solution but have not come across one that works. I have tried installing an update for .png 8 bit and replacing the .png format file entirely, and to no avail. I'm sure all updates are there for my Photoshop CS3 because I just had my lap top worked on and they had to re-add my CS3, so I think that if any updates were needed they would have done that. I have worked with programs like Photoshop for awhile now but I do not know to much about it's inner workers (files, etc.) so I am not sure what the problem is, and I really need this fixed ASAP. I am working on work and I need that .png format. I can't do without it and .png shows up in the "Save For Web Devices", but I am using trasnparency and it is not doing any justice to my images.

no dear there is not any option as u suggested.
rightnow i am using my canvas and making the bytearray of it and then I am saving this bytearray with .jpg/.png format with the JPEG/PNG Encoders. but what it does? It makes a single .jpg file of canvas so if there are 3 images in it than it will save entier canvas as .jpg.
I want to save each image as different layer and finally the canvas should be save in .psd format show i can open that .psd file in photoshop..

Cannot save files from Camera Raw in JPG format.

Since running updates to my Adobe Elements 10 program recently I cannot save the files from Camera Raw in JPG format any longer. I can save the files in other formats but not in JPG format. I need to save some files in JPG format to submit for a photographic course I am doing.

No, I already tried looking at that. The file that recovered was not in the trash, it appeared in my documents folder. I opened it up and inside was an iText Express document with coding. Then inside of there, was and then and this "SoftwareMap" document contained a bunch of coding and symbols and words.
