Cannot scan to MacBook Air

I have a HP B110 e-all-in-one printer about 2.1/2 year old. It works as a printer wirelessly with my MacBook Air laptop fine. However, I cannot get it to scan to my MacBook Air. The machine provides an overview of a document, but will not scan it to a folder on my MacBook. This has been a recurring problem! I do hope that I do not have to buy a new printer/scanner as otherwise my current printer works fine.

Hi and , Let's try a more comprehensive approach. Please use the steps below and let me know the outcome of your efforts; Scrub/ Uninstall
Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP UninstallerClick continue, click on one of the printers in the list.* Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers.  Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
Click uninstall. If you do not have an HP folder, skip to the next set of instructions. Manually uninstall potentially remaining files - I apologize in advanced this is not a fun task! I will try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps may not be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, don't be alarmed. Move the files and/or folders to the trash, drag and dropMacintosh HD/Applications//Hewlett-Packard folderMacintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardIn Macintosh HD/Library/Caches - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMacintosh HD/Library/Documentation/Help/ - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMacintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/HPServicesInterface.frameworkMacintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/HPSmartX.frameworkMacintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/HP Scan ProIn Macintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/Scripts - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardIn Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett PackardMove Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist to the desktop. If the issue persists, let me know we can look at creating a new user account and scanning from there. I look forward to hearing from you.

I cannot connect my MacBook Air to a projector - It will not detect a 2nd monitor or display. I am using an Apple made Mini Display port to VGA adapter. As I read online I see that many other peple are having the same problem. Is this an Apple defect!!???? If so it just burst the bubble about how great macs are. I never had a problem with that on a PC. I hope I am wrong. What can you tell me?

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • I cannot pair my Macbook Air (Yosemite) with my iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth.

I cannot pair my Macbook Air (Yosemite) with my iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth. It is recognising the devices but 'connection unsuccessful'

That is correct.  Macs do not pair to iPhones, iPads, etc.
However, pairlng is not required to get Handoff to work.  Both devices must have Bluetooth on, but they need not (indeed cannot) be paired.
OS X Yosemite: Pick up where you left off with Handoff
You must be using supported devices:
OS X Yosemite: supported devices for Handoff, Instant Hotspot, Phone Calling, SMS, and AirDrop

  • Scanning to macbook air

Scanning has been difficult since buying a mac, it worked fine with PC. wireless connection
It shows overview and seems to scan but then the document cannot be found
    any help would be appreciated

    padam12,
    Welcome to HP Community !
I can see that you have an issue scanning from an HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer to your MAC OS X 10.9 Mavericks. I would like to ask if this is the only HP Printer that is currently installed to your macbook air?
If you have other hp printers that are currently installed we might need to remove them on the list of printer under Printers and Scanners on System Preferences. Just by simply doing a right click and clicking on reset printing system.
    Solution
    1. Make sure that the HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer Software and drivers are installed properly. If you have installed it properly I might suggest that you need to uninstall it and start it with a clean slate. Please make sure that you have installed the correct software and drivers for your MAC OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Please click this link. Please also check the update click this link.
    2. If you have successfully installed the correct software and drivers you need first try and print wirelessly.
If it printed that is a good sign.
2.1 Try scanning wirelessly. Usually you can use this article it shows that the MAC OS X 10.6 this will also be the same using a MAC OS X 10.9 . click this link.
2.2 Try refering also to this link. This might help.
2.3 If everything is working any you might proceed using this link.
I hope that these above steps are helpful

  • New HP Officejet 6600 won't scan to MacBook Air

I bought new HP 6600, downloaded all the drivers set it up and it worked perfectly - for one week.  I've now uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.  My MacBook Air sees the printer and I watch it scan and see the text on my computer screen, but not saved in folder or in my Finder window?
Thanks to anyone who can help.  My first time ever on this site.

Hello @dbvancouver   and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help.
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer - H711a/H711g Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP900 Inkjet - Cannot print from Macbook air 2014

    Hi
I have a HP900 inkjet printer connected via a Windows PC on my network.
I can see and connect to that printer from my MacBook via the network (by connecting to the PC).
But unable to select the correct drivers. Hence unable to print.
Connected the printer directly to my MacBook air using an USB cable.
    Didn’t recognise.
My preference is to use it though the network via the windows PC.
Much appreciated if you could help me to get this issue resolved.
    Thank you.

    Hi ielk,
    Thank you for your reply!
After some further research I found that this printer is not compatible with Mac. That is why you cannot find any drivers.
According to this drivers page, HP 900 Inkjet Printer Drivers, this printer is only supported on, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista (32-Bit and 64-bit).
If you are looking for a compatible printer, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.
Hope this information helps you, and have a great day!

  • Don't know how to scan on Macbook Air OSX 10.9.4

I have recently bought a Macbook Air OSX Version 10.9.4 and am trying to scan a document with several pages using the HP Photosmart C309a series. The printer is connected to my Macbook using a USB cable.
I've always been able to scan documents onto my computer using the HP Solution centre but this isn't available on apple software.
The printer is under system preferences>printers and scanners but there are no options or settings to scan documents with several pages into one file.
I have ticked the box 'combine into single document'. once i have scanned the first page, if i click 'scan' to scan the next page, only the 2nd page is saved in documents and not the first page.
I'm not sure how to control saving the document. Any advice please?

Hello coco06x, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are looking into scan options.  I would like to help.
I would recommend going to Apple Scan and selecting show details.  In the options box on the right, select format, and select PDF.  Under PDF, check the box that says 'combine into single document.'
This should allow you to scan without issue.
Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

Unable to get my new Macbook Air to connect tmy existing wifi that uses Airport Express. It just timesout after about 5 seconds. My mew iphone connected straight away.

connect can be the macbook air being able to use airplay to play music out of the appletv's speakers as one would an airplay express
