Cannot scroll past certain areas in apps

I encountered this problem a long time ago but it just recently became very disruptive.
(first off, my phone is a BlackBerry Curve 8530)
It appears that a bug causes the trackpad to stop scrolling past a particular area for whatever reason. Some time ago, I encountered this problem in my iheartradio app. I was unable to scroll through all of the genres to get to the one I wanted. I can't remember which, but for all intents and purposes, let's say there were 20 genres. I could scroll down through genres 1-15 but I could not scroll any further in order to get to 16-20. I never figured out why it did that, but the problem was "resolved" after I updated the app (because of the interface change). The problem went away becauses the list of genres were oriented in a very different manner.
Now, I have encountered this problem in the App World app.
I was bored and started playing in App World and came across "iSpeech Translator" (which is No. 25 in the "Top Free" category). When it was installing, I hit the back button to go back to the "Top Free" list (did this cause the problem?) and now it appears that my phone became "stuck" at No. 25....in ALL categories. Top Free, Top Paid, New Arrivals, Top Rated....in all of them, I cannot scroll past the 25th app....and it is incredibly frustrating. I can only scroll from 1 to 25...and no further.
I've tried reinstalling App World, downgrading App World, and pulling the battery but nothing has worked so far. I was unable to find a reference to my specific problem through Google so I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: I'm not 100% certain, but there may or may not be more than 25 items to browse (since 25 is a pretty standard cut-off number) Can someone please confirm this for me. Additionally, I distinctly remember being unable to scroll through all of the genres in my iheartradio app....so hopefully I'm not going crazy

My guess is that the issue is caused by either the Yahoo Toolbar or Yontoo Layers add-ons even though they are disabled.

Cannot click on certain area of the screen

I'm not sure if this is a display or a mouse issue. I have had my 24" iMac since June and have just started having this issue. I cannot click (left or right mouse button) on one specific part of the screen. I can click on links and buttons, form boxes, bring up the contextual menu (right click) or do pretty much anything you do with the mouse on most of the screen. However in this approximately half inch high and a few inches long area just above the middle of the screen on the left hand side there is no response from computer when clicking with the mouse. I can click on a link in the browser above this space and below it but not on the link in it. If I move the browser window so that same link appears in a different part of the screen I can click on it fine and cannot click on the link now in the affected area.
This is the same for any clickable item placed in this area of the screen. Is this a display or a mouse issue?

If you have an external drive that can be erased, you could try installing a new system there and setting the Mac to boot from it. That will determine if it is related to the current system installation, or if it is more likely to be a hardware problem. You can obviously also back up your data, erase your internal drive, and reinstall a new system there.
Alternately, as a test, you can just startup from your Mac OS X installation disc. At the first installer screen, go up to the menu bar. Under Utilities, run Disk Utility. Move the Disk Utility window around the screen as needed to see of the same problem exists while booted from a different system. If it happens there, then it is more likely to be some odd hardware-related issue. If it does not, it is possible a fresh system installation will resolve the problem.

Backup stalls part way through first backup; cannot get past certain files?

Hi all -
My iMac is connected via USB to a 1T drive and that external drive is partitioned into four partitions. My iMac backs up to only one of the four partitions and does not share that partition with any other backups.
Today I have a problem - TM is stuck. Early today it was indexing the backup for four hours and since it had been two months since I had connected the drive for TM, I decided to start over. I stopped the backup, removed the external backup volume from TM and then removed the partition from the USB drive and recreated it with a different name. I then rebooted and verified/repaired the new partition and then verified and repaired file permissions on my main iMac drive. It has only 115 gig of data on its 500 gig volume to backup.
I then started TM, pointed it at the newly named partition and away we went, backing up 24.36 gig of the 115 gig/ Then it stalls. I wait an hour, two hours. Still stuck at 24.36.
So being stubborn and stupid, I repeat the same steps, expecting a different outcome. Guess what, it is stuck again. I'm thinking I need to do something to the iMac 115 gig of data to get it to back up to a fresh partition but don't know what. Boot from dvd and repair the volume? Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you "connect" the drive, and only run TM occasionally? Leave the drive connected, and Time Machine on -- once the initial backup is done, let it do it's quick hourly backups. That's how it was designed to work, and will protect you best that way.
But if, for some reason, you're only going to back up occasionally, Time Machine is probably not the best backup app for you. See Kappy's post on [Basic Backup|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2600811], complete with links to the web sites of each product.
It sounds like something in your Mac's file system is corrupted. Try Verifying your internal HD (and Repairing any other drives/partitions that are being backed-up), per #A5 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).

When I click on the Creative Cloud Icon on the desktop, it pops up and shows me "HOME" I cannot scroll down or access, the Apps, Assets, or Community.

Then perform below given steps:
Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
Mac OS: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
Windows: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder. To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.

IPhone 4 cannot scroll through a certain spot on the screen

This problem is intermittent, so I first assumed it was a software problem, but it has been restored both at home and at the Apple store with no success.
About 50% of the time, I cannot scroll through the bottom 10% of the screen. For the most part it isn't a huge deal, but on apps like Words With Friends I cannot drag letters up from the bottom. On certain webpages with a "yes" or "no" option at the bottom, I cannot click either one. Sometimes I'm able to to switch to landscape mode and bypass the problem, but not on all apps. The keyboard also goes wacky periodically while sending text messages (as in some letters will not "click" at first, and sometimes each click produces 5 or 6 of the letter).
Running 5.0.1 on an iPhone 4.
Any suggestions?

I am quite new to the program myself but over the last few weeks editing one particular image I have found that this program will do practically anything I want. I just persevere through each frustration and eventually figure it out. I just wish it were easier to remember what I did to get the result...oh wait, there is a way for that too lol.
I believe you will find it best to have your image on its own layer.
As for the rulers, check to see if it is turned on, I believe that choice would be under the tab at the top labeled VIEW? Not in front of puter right now so not sure exactly.
Also, you might want to check your settings for many of this type of feature in the PREFERENCES area.

InDesign CS5 crashes when I try to do anything with a certain 5 pages in document (even scroll past)

I'm having issues with five pages within an InDesign document.
I was trying to export a document to PDF, but a couple of images weren't showing up on a couple of pages. So I tried exporting to PDF in a couple of different ways to see if that would help. It didn't. Instead, InDesign started crashing constantly. Turning Preflight off helped with that, and I was able to clear out any other potential problems (potentially problematic PDFs placed in the document, .eps images). I tried exporting as .idml, but it created 4 kb files that couldn't be opened; I think InDesign was crashing before the file could finish exporting. Now that I can get the document open for extended periods of time, I've tried exporting as a .idml file again, and it gets to 83% complete and doesn't finish.
I started trying to export as PDF again, and by exporting parts of the document, I was able to narrow the problem down to pages 162-166. I don't know what's different about these pages. I have the PDF that I managed to export successfully before it started crashing constantly (the one with the missing images--and to clarify, these missing images aren't on any of the problem pages, so it appears to be an unrelated issue), and from looking at those pages, I can't see what the issue is.

I'm using CS5 on OS X 10.5.8. When I started having these problems, I realized that I hadn't updated InDesign in awhile, so I updated to the latest. I'm using 7.0.4 now.

Try reseting the preferences.

This problem is pretty definitely not SING, so deleting the Mark II folder is not going to help. (It wont't hurt, though!)
Resetting prefrences is always a good thing to try.
I suspect it is a corrupt story thread of some sort. Moving pages to a new document, exporting stories to IDML, copying the file and deleting pages until the problem goes away...those are things I would try.

Yes. I do it using Adobe Reader for PDF files, Pages for Word files, I can copy from Safari or iCab Mobile and paste into another app. I use my finger even though I do have a stylus. I rarely use my stylus anymore, but yes it's possible.

So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.
