Cannot search with latest version of iTunes
I don't know if anyone else searches by this method, but you used to be able to quickly find artists/bands in iTunes by simply typing the first few letters of the band/artist name, not into the search box but just with the iTunes window active. iTunes would then jump to this artist. This is actually a pretty basic feature, and is possible in Windows Explorer folders.
Ever since the last upgrade of iTunes this feature seems to be broken. It's not the first time it has happened. Has anyone else noticed this. Is there any fix? Please let me know.
It's flaky om the Albums tab.

You may have to follow the slightly more detailed steps in whichever of these two applies to you.

Rebooting into safe mode may be needed to delete any folder the instructions say you should remove. You may also find this Microsoft Fixit helps to remove stubborn components. It has taken some people several attempts to completely clean iTunes and supporting software before they have been able to successfully reinstall it.

I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod...any suggestions?
You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

I cannot install the latest version of iTunes as it instructed me to uninstall the version I had, which I did, but the "Apple mobile device support" will not uninstall. This has left me with no iTunes and the new version will not install until I can uninstall all the old components. Help please
You could try downloading and installing 7-Zip (free) and downloading a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer, unpack the installer into its components using 7-Zip then try installing AppleApplicationSupport again. It may still fail to install but you may get more useful error messages as to why not.

There is a screen in the itunes website that states I have downloaded the software, but when I open it whatever I downloaded states it is not a VALID WIN 32 APPLICATION. Ive tried several ways to downloading it. Maybe my pc computer is not compatible but I have never had this problem before. PLEASE HELP ME!!

My PC can't download 10.7; everytime I try it says "thanks for download itunes" but does nothing at all and I still have the prior version. I have rebooted my computer umpteen times. I have turned my iphone off umpteen times and back on. I cannot sync it and am afraid to even try my ipad.

I cannot install the latest version of itunes as I have old versions of bonjour and quicktime. I can't remove these programs either. Help please as I have tried almost everything I have found so far on the the web.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok. -

Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

I cannot install the latest version of Itunes under Windows XP because itunes.msi cannot be found in order to remove the older version (11.0.1.12) of itunes. Is there any other way I can accomplish an upgrade without using the Itunes.msi file?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. I cannot install the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (windows xp). I receive a windows installer error. Am not having any problem installing other software or syncing w iPhone. Made the mistake today of uninstalling my older version and not cannot install new. Need new version in order to sync w new iPad.
Any help would be appreciated.Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

I have an original iphone. With the latest version of itunes, 10.5, it no longer syncs. The name of my device doesn't appear in itunes just a gneric iphone. I know its old and apple no longer provides updates to ios but taking away my ablilty to sync is hard to believe. Any suggestions
Did you do a backup of iOS before you changed iTunes?
I would do a reverse and go back to the old iTunes, then update your iPhone and then update iTunes.
Version 4.x of iOS has been out forever, update, update, update.....it is very important to maintain compatability in hardware & software devices/pcs'/Macs. -

After updating to the latest version of iTunes 12.1.0.71,my ipad mini is not being picked up by itunes even though its showing its connected and i can see it Explorer under My Computer!Even third party programs like Tong Bu assistant aren't working anymore.I have tried reinstalling and switched my device on and off multiple times.Please help...

This doesn't make sense. Your statement "even though it's showing its connected" means that iTunes does see the iPad. Or am I misreading what you are saying?
