Cannot search within a website

When evre I log on to www.pch.com and try to search the spinning wheel keeps turning and no search results are found

Since search within a website is controlled by the website search query, have you tried search within another website?

  • Cannot search within the AllItems Library

I have read many of the related threads and I have crawled the site many times.
We have a publishing site portal and I have removed the allitems exclude rule from the Intranet scope. The documents in the /Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx library are searchable from the home page. However, when I go to the page and enter in OOB search
part  I can see documents that start with the word incident, but they don't show up. Instead I get:
The library is search enabled and the documents are in the Index. What is stopping me from searching while on this particular page?
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    Matthew Barrett Concept Interactive Inc.

Here are the screen shots. Hope they stick this time.
I'm using the OOB search while on the /Document/Forms/AllItems.aspx site. I search for a file I can see is there.
This is my result. As I said if I search from the home page I get listings of documents, as expected.

  • Ebay set in seach bar so I cannot search for other websites without knowing their exact www adddress

    as above

Starting in Firefox 23, the address bar uses the same search engine as the search bar. You can undo that change using an add-on, or if you don't need them to be different, select your preferred search engine in the search bar.
    If relevant, here's the add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/keyword-search/

  • How can I adjust the search bar to search within a specific website?

I used to use Chrome (still miss it a little bit), but Firefox has continually grown on me.
One feature I do miss from Chrome being able to search within a specific website from the search bar. For example, I was able to type in amazon.com, then pressing tab, and type in a specific search term, such as "The Terminator." When I pressed enter after typing "The Terminator," Chrome would automatically take me to Amazon's search results for "The Terminator."
And it wouldn't just be Amazon either; pretty much any site that had a searchable database, Chrome would be capable of utilizing this feature. Is there any way to replicate that in Firefox?

hello crachor, probably keyword search can offer you a similar functionality in firefox: [[How to search IMDB, Wikipedia and more from the address bar]]

You haven't mentioned any steps you might have tried to correct this so I'll suggest you try the first troubleshooting step. Reset your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the buttons and let the device restart. No data will be lost doing this. It's like rebooting a computer.

  • How to store XML and search within tags

    My question
    ===========
exactly what steps do you need follow to take an XML doc, store
it, and query based on a tag value.
The 8i Intermedia text option Reference refers to
XLM_SECTION_GROUP feature. However, no examples are given. There
    is no user guide.
I searched Oracle's website and found one reference to
XML_SECTION_GROUP. The example given is a single row insert into
a CLOB column with a single pair of tags.
This whitepaper gives an example of an XML doc, and a query on
    it:
XML Support in Oracle8i and Beyond
    November 9, 1998
It doesn't list the steps in between storing the doc and quering
it. This is crucial to the whole thing: does XML_SECTION_GROUP
allow all nested tags below the top level to be sectioned and
indexed implicitly? Or do you need to tell Oracle about all the
tags you are interested in, in which case what value is added by
    the XLM_SECTION_GROUP?
Does Oracle have some better examples on this?
Below is text cut and pasted from the whitepaper.

Once instances of iFS file types (including XML-based ones) are
    stored in the database, their
content can be searched using standard SQL queries, and these
    files can be organized, browsed,
and versioned using familiar tools like the Windows Explorer.
So an insurance agent sees a
directory of InsuranceClaim files sheFs recently worked on in

    XML-Enabled "Section Searches" in ConText
Any XML documents or document fragments saved into "text blobs"
    in the database can be
enabled for indexing by Oracle8i InterMediaFs ConText
    text-search engine. ConText has been
enhanced for Oracle8i to allow developers to pinpoint their
searches to a particular section of a
document, where sections are implicitly defined by the XML tags
    in the document (fragment).
Since ConText is seamlessly integrated into the database and
    the SQL language, developers can
use SQL to perform queries that involve both structured data
    and indexed document fragments.
For example, Figure 6 shows the SQL statement you would write
    to search one million
Insurance Claims in your database to answer the question, "How

Currently you cannot break apart an arbitrary XML doc and store
it into the database without using XSLT to create DDL to insert
it. You can create a schema and have XML be read and written to
it. Check out the XML SQL Utility available here for download.
As for the section searching, in 8.1.5 you can only get section
searching not hierarchical searches. interMedia in this version
doesn't understand the XML structure. This will come in 8.1.6.

  • Updated to firefox 4.0. since then my computer is very slow accessing the internet, websites and getting information from within a website.

Over a week ago I updated my computer to Firefox 4.0. Since then my computer is very slow accessing the internet, websites and getting information from within a website. Also, a tool bar has shown up for YAHOO which I did not request. The old detailed tool bar for Firefox has disappeared. All that now shows for Firefox is the area to enter website urls and an area to enter topic for a Google Search.
Many times I have to exit Firefox and re-enter it later to access the internet.
Please advice what I need to do to get back to the speed I had with the older version of Firefox.
    Thank You,

  • Feedback: search within attachments needed in mail

    Hello,
I really need to be able to search within attachments within mail.
Specifically I need to be able to search within attached PDF and Word documents, through my entire email store.
it is important that it searches within all emails, regardless of whether or not the attachment has been saved to disk. I am aware that attachments saved to disk are searched but this is no substitute at all for being able to search through my 30,000 or so emails. Also I need to see the results within the email program, not within Spotlight.
Searching within attachments seems such an obviously needed feature, its a puzzle as to why it is not there.
    Thanks
    Andrew

The puzzle for me is that in fact, in Leopard 10.5.2 and Mail 3.2, Mail.app sometimes searches into attachments, sometimes not.
More specifically: I produced a message with a Word attachment with a infrequent word in it. I sent it to various account I have in Mail, and then searched for the word. Some of the messages are found others not. I cannot find a pattern. Sucessive forwards of the same message to the same account produce disfferent results (some of the messages show up in search others not).
This seems to be message related: if a message shows it will always show, and vice-versa.

  • Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table

Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table. I have Windows 8.1 64-bit and Office 2010 Professional. Only phrases from within Excel tables are not searchable. I have many Word documents with embedded Excel table.
I use it for my invoices. Those invoices are converted to pdf to be sent via mail. Searching the same phrases in related pdf files Works fine. And yes, folders are indexed, searching service is active......... For example I can find all invoices that have
specific address or name, which is located in word document, but cannot find invoices with specific item name or price, being that information is in embedded Excel table. (not linked, embedded). I thought that is a question for Windows forum, but guys directed
me here on Office forum. To clarify, I do not use Ctrl+F inside some document, but Windows Search in my folders. Probably the same happens in Office 2013.
    Thank you.

Hi, I have a lot of Word documents (invoices, offers). Main part of those documents is embedded Excel file because it is easier to do mathematics in Excel than in Word. There are columns with description, unit price, quantity, taxes... Now, I need
to find who bought HP switch 2530-24G last year. I open folder with last year invoices and search "2530". Cannot find any. But if that document was converted to pdf for mail, than I can find that phrase. Windows search does not work for content if the content
    is in embedded file.

  • Will google list a splash page made within another website in iWeb?

I've tried submitting a website to google multiple times but they aren't picking it up/listing it. I'm wondering if that is because it is set up as a splash page within another website. I'm trying to get nateweldon.com listed, but it is built within the seaserpentrecords.com website I made in iWeb. It is a hidden page I've set up within seaserpentrecords.com to save money on hosting. Any tips to make nateweldon.com searchable in google?
Thanks so much for any help.
    Ellen

Where do you publish your website - MobileMe or another server?
Are you using masking to forward the domain name - nateweldon.com ?
Splash pages and masking are two of the things to be avoided with SEO.
If you have only one root folder on your server you need to publish the nateweldon site as a sub site with its own folder so that its URL is...
    http://www.seaserpentrecords.com/nateweldon/
Create and upload a sitemap.xml for the above URL and upload it to the nateweldon folder....

  • Sharepoint PeoplePicker cannot search account on 2nd Domain with 2 way trust

    Hi all,
I have run into this issue for 2 days, and cannot figure out why.
We have 3 different Sharepoint environments, and we have two-way trust between 1st and 2nd domain.
But, one of the environments cannot search 2nd domain in PeoplePicker.
However, the other two environments didn't require any configuration to be able to search ppl on the 2nd domain.
Is there anyone know what happened on the specific environment?
P.S. That specific environment has two servers in the farm, and one of them can search the 2nd domain in PeoplePicker, but the other one cannot.
       Any idea? Thank you.
    James

    Hi,
The issue usually occurs due to invalid trusts between different forests or the incorrect property set using stsadm. By default the people picker would search for users from same forest as that of the SharePoint server. If want to find the users from other domain, you need to use stsadm to set “peoplepicker-searchadforests” of the people picker.
If the new domain is in the same forest as the domain in SharePoint server, try to run the command line: stsadm -o setproperty. If the two domains are not in the same forest, you must run the setapppassword operation, and then run the peoplepicker-searchadforests property

  • Email or contact box is no longer opening when I click on a link within any website

whenever I click on any link withing any website that should and always had either opened an email, contact us section withing that website, or my default email, nothing happens. example, going to a website that has a link for contact us, I click on the obvious link and nothing happens. This is not just happening within one website, but every site that I go to. Absolutely nothing happens when I click on links that are obvious links that should direct you to either another area or open an email within every website I go to. This started happening about 6 weeks ago, now in the last week, my firefox keeps crashing for no reason. I use a mac OS X 10.4.11.. I have made no changes to my system, have not downloaded any new programs, and everything else is working fine with my mac.

Further to jscher2000's suggestion yesterday: I think I misunderstood the suggestion, which I didn't find very clear. I've now discovered that if I send a Firefox open window (with one or more open tabs) to hide in the dock first, then clicking on a link twice (once to bring the mail program to the front and again to open the link), this will cause the hidden tab/s to come out of hiding AND a new tab for the link will open. Cumbersome, and I still maintain there is a bug in version 32, but this workaround is at least quicker than copying and pasting the link.
Thanks to cor-el and jscher2000 for your responses.
