Cannot see Apple TV in iTunes

Help!.. Cannot see Apple TV in iTunes...
Have Dell PC running Windows 7 64-bit Prof. Hard-wired into d-link wireless router/modem.
Followed all Apple TV trouble shooting advice to no avail. As a final resort have even fully reinstalled PC operating system and still cannot see the device.
As a test Apple TV was found over the same wireless network by my laptop running XP - so I am sure it is not an Apple TV or network fault.
Has anyone got any adive pls?

had the same problem. The following was found in another thread on ATV disappearing from iTunes. It was posted by Cima113. I tried it. It brings ATV back in iTunes. Mine has been fine now for a month. I hope this helps someone.

It appears the best and only known solution for the AppleTV issue (windows) isn’t actually iTunes build 9.1.0.79. After the helpful postings to this thread it appears that the recent update of Bonjour is the actual culprit. Users experiencing this issue (Apple TV stopped appearing in iTunes 9.1.0.79) should try the following if your setup stopped working after iTunes 9.1.0.79.
1) Uninstall Bonjour version 2 :
Start> control panel>> uninstall a program>>> Select Bonjour>>>> Uninstall
2) RESTART your computer!!!
3) Open iTunes…
You should get a message that Bonjour is missing… This is what you want.
*While you have iTunes open make sure “Find AppleTV’s” is selected in iTunes, under:
Edit> Preferences>> Apple TV tab>>> Check box bottom.
(The above step must wait until after you install Bonjour 1.0.6, restart and open iTunes. This option is noy available while Bonjour is not installed)
4) Close iTunes.
5) Install Bonjour 1.0.6 (reputable download site: Cnet’s Download.com see below)

6) RESTART your computer!!!!
7) Open iTunes
8) Start AppleTV and …
Go to: Settings> Computers>> locate the “iTunes/Add library” option>>>
Go to PC and Enter code in iTunes.

New Boy - cannot see Apple TV in ITunes devices

Please bear with me....varioations of this have been asked before:
ATV is on my wireless network at maximum strength and I can down load movie trailers, my Itunes is up to date and I can log into IStore. Preference settings are as per the book (ie look for Apple TV) yet the TV isn't appearing in my device list. I have rebooted both PC & TV, I have restored factory settings on the TV....any ideas?

My Apple TV basically works as advertised but I also have this intermittent problem. I am connected
with strong signal and can also connect to iTunes Store and YouTube but the Apple TV doesn't show up in Devices. I have to either restart iTunes or the computer. Can be frustrating. Everything is paired and the firewall is open. It can be good for several days and then disappear from devices.

Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-trying the photo sync and see if they all then copy over (you need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad) ? Don't know about the Facebook photo emailing, but there are a number of apps that allow to upload photos to their site (e.g. the 'official' Facebook app).
(For future info, typing all in capitals is considered SHOUTING - you are more likely to get help/responses if you don't.)

Bonjour preventing me from seeing Apple TV in iTunes...

I recently upgraded to the latest version of iTunes, 9.1 for Windows XP. Everything was working great but since that download, I can no longer see Apple TV within iTunes. When I go to preferences in iTunes and then Apple TV, it says that "Bonjour has been disabled and is required to connect Apple TV. Please re-enable to use this service". The problem is that I have no idea how it got disabled to begin with. I went into the control panel and uninstalled Bonjour and then reinstalled it from the Apple site but no luck. When I go into My Computer and go to Bonjour Service Properties, it shows that it's set to automatic but that it's Stopped. When I hit "Start", I get a message saying "Windows couldn't start Bonjour on Local Computer. For more information review the Systems Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft product, contact the service vendor and refer to service specific error code 10014".

I finally figured this out. I initially thought it was due to the latest version of iTunes (9.1) but it was actually the 2.0 version of Bonjour causing he problems. Once I uninstalled Bonjour and then re-installed an older 1.0 version, all was well again.

Panasonic TV cannot "see" Apple TV

My sister-in-law was so impressed with our Apple TV she went out and got one.
I went to her house to set it up and I failed!
The TV is a Panasonic flat screen (probably plasma) that uses a Panasonic Digital Receiver (TU-PT700U). First, I tried with Component cables using Comp 2 (Comp 1 is being used), and then my brother-in-law dug up an HDMI cable and I tried that, too.
Both times, when I cycled the inputs using "TV/Video", it never picked up the Comp 2 or HDMI input. I tried holding down Menu and + for six seconds and cycling hitting the + button to see if it needed a particular resolution to recognize the presence of the Apple TV.
What did I miss?

As for buttons on remote, just make sure ATV is on (white light). Any other color or blinking means it is doing something or hung up (blinking amber).
As mentioned, could be bad ATV, but could also just be the TV settings need some tweaking depending on TV. Best suggestion given is to try yours on her TV or try her ATV on another TV that is less complex but has right jacks.

Cannot see my iPad in iTunes on my computer

I've updated recently to OS7 on my iPad2 and updated to 11.1 on iTunes on my PC. Now I can no longer see my iPad on iTunes on my PC. I followed all instructions in the support section but still nothing shows. I never had a problem until this last update.
Any ideas?

Thanks, I tried this but it didn't work. It turned out I had to follow the instructions for
If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed
and update the driver this way from portable devices since there was nothing in the USB list.
Everything is back to normal.

ITunes cannot see Apple TV

I'm having a bummer of a time getting iTunes to see my Apple TV.
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS 10.4.9 and have iTunes 7.1.1 installed. I verified by running software update.
My router is an Airport Extreme 802.11N base station.
I've tried my mac with wireless (G) and ethernet (airport disabled)
The Apple TV is connected to my TV and to my local network (I've tried both ethernet and wireless). I can download movie trailers without a problem from the Apple TV.
I've restarted my MacBook Pro.
I've reset the Apple TV to factory defaults and power cycled it
No matter what I do, I can't get it to show up in the list on the Apple TV tab in iTunes preferences.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have TV synched to MacMini 1 and setup for stream to Dell XP machine, another MacMini Intel, and a PBG4. For machines not setup to stream or sync, the TV did not show up in the devices list. I selected new iTunes Library on the TV, when display the connection key. Soon after the TV showed up in the devices list on the newly added machine. Then clicking on TC then brought up the preferences window and the connection key dialog box. After that, the devices display of the TV goes away but it remains as an allowed device for streaming in the TV preferences box and is selectable from the sources menu on the TV.
If you take too long to go back to iTunes on the hosting computer and the Apple TV goes into screen saver mode before connection, TV will disappear on the Devices list in iTunes.
This drove me crazy for a awhile because I was taking my time to return to the host machine after requesting a new connection authorization.
