Cannot see ASP pages with IIS7.5

I've just installed DW CS5 onto my W7 system.
I write ASP pages, and need to use IIS to view my pages locally. I'm having
real difficulties doing this in W7. I've enabled all the correct program
add-ons (i.e asp) and I've allowed all read/write permissions to the wwwroot
folder where my local server is. However, I still get an error message when
trying to view my pages locally.
The help artical on the Adobe site wasn't much help!
Is there anyone who can help or give advice, or point me to the website that
tells you what to do? There must be a fool-proof way of setting this up!
Cheers,
Seb
I should add that I had exactly the same problem last year, but a correspondant, Mooreski, kindly sorted out the problem fo me. (This was my laptop). The ISS on my laptop has stopped working, so I'm guessing that an update to W7 has changed the settings needed to run classic asp pages on IIS.

You need to create a classic asp setting that allows 32-bit apps. I am not infront of my PC when I get home I will screen shot steps to get classic asp to work in Win 7

  • Cannot see asp pages on browser

This is my umpteenth issue (I'm facing so many these last two
days and I fell exhausted) :
I can't see the result of my work on asp pages. After I
create a recordset, I save the page and put it on the remote
server, I press F12 to check the outcome on IE. But nothing... this
    message is displayed:
    "Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration
and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time
the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may
    have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the
    server error log."
Does that depend on something wrong I do? Or is it my server
provider responsibility? It's sunday and I cannot call them.
Somebody may say I should try my files locally but I've gained the
remote connection so difficultly that now I feel anguished at the
idea of studying hot to set a local connection. Maybe I have to
resign to this idea, but maybe some of you can skip it and still
    advice me something.
    Thank you very much,

no idea about your problem but believe me, working locally
    will save you
    a lot of headaches!
for somebody helping you to deal with setting a local
    connection you
must post if you're using DNS' or connection strings. Access
    or MS-SQL?

  • Standart Portal User cannot see Website created with WPC?!?

    Hi there,
    just a new Question.
I created a Website with WPC as shown in this Blog:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/5924
Web Page Composer u2013 how easy it is to create and publish a web page (Part III)
I created also a User that have rights:
    Groups:
    Everyone
    Authenticated Users
    Roles:
Testrole  (That one i created for the Website)
But my user cannot see the Website after Logging in.. In the Menu there is a Menuentry called: Website
Thats correct. But the Site do not load.
After i put the User in: Group - Administrators i can see the Website... whats wrong here?
    Regards
    Bjoern

OK i am a step forward.
i checked help.sap.com and find a hint to the Security Zones.
    Defining Permissions for Security Zones
           1.      Navigate to Security Zones ® com.sap.nw.wpc ® wpc.
           2.      In the context menu of the following folders, choose Open Permissions and define the permissions specified.
    Permissions for Security Zones
    Folders
    Roles/Groups
    Permissions
    medium_safety
Site owners, editors, and authors (for example, the wpc_editor_role role)
    Select the End User checkbox.
You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    no_safety
Visitors (for example, the everyone group)
    Select the End User checkbox.
You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    I changed the no_safety (i added Group - Everyone)
Now i can see the Page.. but i also see at the top right of the page: EDIT PAGE
And a Standart EndUser should not see: Edit Page
    What can i do here?
    Regards
    Bjoern

  • Cannot see entire page without using the bottom scroll bar.

Cannot see the entire page without using the bottom scroll bar. Unfortunately some websites do not have the scroll bar and I am unable to complete my transaction because the area I need to click is on the right of the screen and that does not show on my page. If I change the view, the font is to small and it is blurry making in illegible.

Weird. Be sure zoom is to default value (press Ctrl+0 -zero- in FF). In addition, restart FF in safe mode, maybe an add-on is the culprit.

  • WVC80N cannot see the image with VLC when multicasting

I am using the WVC80N camera and have set the multicast address to 225.0.0.6 and the port to 2006 but when I try to view the image with VLC I cannot see and image. HTTP and rtsp both work but I need to use multicasting, has anyone gotten this to work?

When you talk about the multicast , may I know if where is it set? Is it set on the route, server or computer? When you talk about VLC, where you referring to the VLC media player? Is also possible if you will show us a complete diagram on how your network has been setup so that we will be able to provide you the right recommendation.

  • Cannot see files burned with Vista

I burned some photos to a DVD using Windows Vista, but I cannot see them in Finder. All I see in Finder is a "Recordable DVD" with nothing in it. If I do "Get Info" I see the following:
    General:
    Kind: Folder
Size: Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes)

    Media capacity: 4.37 GB
Content size: 1.3 MB (i.e. the photos are there! somewhere ...)
Now, "Disk Utility" shows the following info:

    Disk Identifier : disk1
    Media Name : HL-DT-ST DVDRW GSA-S10N Media

    Thanks!

I have a similar problem with CD's created with Vista, but if the preferences are set correctly in Vista, compatible CD's and DVD's can be created.
    Following is from Microsoft:
    http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/2af64e60-60aa-4d79-ab6c-3a5d b5806cbe1033.mspx
Understanding the difference between the Live File System and Mastered disc formats
If you have burned CDs using Windows XP, you are already familiar with the Mastered format. The latest version of Windows offers a new format, called Live File System. Discs that use the Live File System format are often more convenient because you can copy selected files immediately and as often as you want, as if the disc were a floppy disc or USB flash drive. On the other hand, Live File System discs can’t be used in all computers and devices. Use this guide to understand the difference between Live File System and Mastered discs:
Discs formatted with the Live File System option:
    • Work like a USB flash drive or floppy disk, meaning you can copy files to disc immediately without having to burn them.
    • Are convenient if you want to keep a disc in the burn drive and copy files whenever the need arises.
    • Are only compatible with Windows XP and later versions of Windows.
Discs formatted with the Mastered option:
    • Don’t copy files immediately, meaning you need to select the entire collection of files that you want to copy to the disc, and then burn them all at once.
    • Are convenient if you want to burn a large collection of files, such as a music CD.
    • Are compatible with older computers and devices such as CD players and DVD players
Why are there different versions of the Live File System format?
Each version of the Live File System format is compatible with different operating systems. Depending on which computers you plan to use a disc in, you might need to select a different version of Live File System. If you plan to use your disc on the latest version of Windows, however, you will never need to change the version of Live File System you use. If you need to make discs that are compatible with earlier versions of Windows, use the table below to select the right Live File System version for your needs:
The following table describes Live File System versions and their appropriate uses.
Live File System version Best for
    1.02
This format can be read on Windows 98 as well as many Apple computers. You should use this version if you need to format DVD-RAM or MO (Magneto-optical) discs.
    1.5
This format is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. It might not be compatible with Windows 98 or Apple computers.
    2.01
This format is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. It might not compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Apple computers.
    2.5
This format is designed for the latest version of Windows and might not be compatible with earlier versions of Windows.

  • Cannot see Transaction replication with updatable subscription in new publication wizard-sqlserver 2005 standard edition

    Folks,
I am planning to implement transactional replication with updatable subscription between two sql2005 Instance .I am surprised that i cold see this type of replication in the new publication wizard in the source server instead i see peer-to-peer replication.
Could you please help me in understanding how to setup  transactional replication with updatable subscription in sqlserver 2005 standard edition.
    Thanks.

    Hi soories,
In addition to Ashwin’s post, peer-to-peer replication is available only in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition. Please
execute ‘Select @@version’ in SQL Server to verify the version and edition of your SQL Server instance.
Also if you cannot see the option “Transaction replication with updatable subscription” in New Publication Wizard, you can use T-SQL to achieve this requirement.

  • On a Macbook Pro, I cannot print web pages with Firefox v 3.6.13. I can print if I use Safari, but no Firefox. Any ideas??

When I try to print, it does not even appear to "connect" to the printer software. Normally, a printer icon will pop up in the taskbar, but this does not happen with Firefox. Also, in Mac, you have the option of saving the webpage as a pdf document. When I try it, it only results in a blank page. The Browser that comes with a Mac, Safari, works fine and prints. Not sure if it's a setting in Firefox or something else.

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4+ versions.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    * browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

  • WebDAV problem - cannot see directories/files with space in filename

Using latest OS x 10.4.6 and can access my company's Sharepoint server via WebDAV.
However I only see folders/files that have no space in the filename - this is a major showstopper as I obviously cannot impose on rest of company how to name files.
PS: I can access this Sharepoint site via a webbrowser but I cannot easily upload/download files in the browser interface. Actually upload does not work in Safari (endless timeout) but it does work in firefox
PPS: Tried DAVExplorer and it could not even access the sharepoint site.
    Help appreciated.,

    Thanks Tim.
I am connecting to an external WebDav server - Sharepoint 2001/2003. As per above SP 2003 and OSX as client create all the troubles listed above..
Note: I compared console.log from my Sp2001 connections and SP2003 connections. Connecting to SP3 and gtrying to access a WebDav folder with directoriers/files containing spaces I see all kind of errors in console.log - see below.

  • Cannot see tif file with just 552KB

    Hi,
I've received a TIF file from a scanned document but I cannot open it in my MacBook. The Preview sw says that it may be corrupted. However the same file file can be opened in a Windows based computer!?
What's wrong? What can I do to see it in my MacBook?
    Thanks,
    Fabio
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1GB

    Hi Fabio -
First, don't let the "may be corrupted" message throw you - it usually just means the program you're using thinks it should be able to open the file, but can't, and it's unwilling to accept responsibility for the failure
552K is extremely small for a TIFF - are you sure the copy you're trying to open in Preview isn't compressed in some way? If so it will need to be expanded before Preview can open it.
Second - What Windows program is it that is able to open the file? Even if the file isn't compressed, not all TIFF files are 'equal' - IOW if it is a 32Bit or 24 Bit CMYK TIFF Preview may not be able to handle it (I don't know Preview's limits but for a 'freebie utility' they may be fairly low), but a program like PhotoShop could open it with no trouble. Have you tried opening it with Mac-something other than Preview?
Can you shed any more light on how the file was created & transported to the Mac?
    Regards,
    Bob J.

  • Cannot see html pages LOCALLY STORED on Mac drive, using Parallels Desktop?

Using Parallels Desktop running Windows XP, I cannot use Safari 3 to view HTML files stored on my Mac - no matter how I try!
If I locate the file within Windows Explorer and I right-click and choose "Open With > Safari Web Browser" Safari will open, but it will only open a blank window and nothing loads (the Status Bar remains blank).
If I open Safari and choose "Open File..." and navigate to the file on my Mac and click "Open" I get an error message which states:
Safari can’t open the page “file://.PSF/Macintosh%20HD/..."
    etc.
Note that the URL it is trying to open begins with:
    “file://.PSF/"
whereas doing the same thing from within Internet Explorer shows the URL to begin with:
    "\\.PSF\"
without the "file" part. Also notice the BACKslashes, rather than FORWARDslashes.
Lastly, trying to open a blank Safari window and drag-and-drop the HTML file from Windows Explorer directly into the Safari window results in exactly the same problem.
Note that ALL 3 of the above-mentioned methods DO work in Internet Explorer.
Finally, even copying-and-pasting the local URL that DOES work in IE into Safari's Address Bar doesn't work either. The problem this time is that not only does Safari turn all the backslashes into forwardslashes, but it also adds "http:" to the beginning of the URL, when it was not in the originally-copied link, which began with "\\.PSF\".

Again, thanks for taking the time to reply - but you're really really not paying attention to what I'm saying...
I AM giving Safari the full pathname, but when using Parallels Desktop, this full pathname begins with "\\.PSF\". That's how it starts. Nothing else before the two backslashes, OK. That's how it works in Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop. That's how it works in Windows Explorer when using Parallels Desktop.
I have given Safari the full pathname in FOUR different ways, as I mentioned in my original post: right-click, open with / file>open / drag-and-drop / copy-paste-URL.
With regards to my particular issue, I'm not concerned about how it works when using Windows running natively on a "proper" Windows PC. I am concerned about how it works when using Parallels Desktop.
If you really want to know the full URL (not that it matters one jot) of an example file that I can open with Internet Explorer, but not with Safari, here's the URL of the file I was originally trying to test:
    \\.PSF\Macintosh%20HD\Work\Downie\Website\HTML\index.html
That's it. Everything is there. I have not left off anything at the beginning of that URL.
That's how it works in Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop. OK, re-read that. It works in Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop.
When I copy that URL exactly as it is, and paste it into Safari and hit return, Safari automatically converts it to:
    http://.psf/Macintosh%20HD/Work/Downie/Website/HTML/index.html
Note how it has altered it in several respects:
    - It has added "http:" to the beginning of the URL.
    - It has turned the original "PSF" into a lower-case "psf".
    - It has turned all the backslashes into forwardslashes.
I try manually deleting and altering the relevant parts and hitting return again, but Safari just goes back to the "wrong URL".
When you say "the only prefix for local files is file://" you are obviously not familiar with how Parallels Desktop works with and reads "local files".
Remember what I said earlier about how you're not REALLY looking at LOCAL files, because TRUE local files would be on the Windows section of the drive, and I am trying to look at files on the Mac part of the drive.
I'll repeat what I said earlier:
If you are not testing this from within Parallels Desktop like I am, and where I am having the problems, then your words here are not of much use, because you cannot experience what I am experiencing. You cannot comment on the experience on how this works from within Parallels Desktop if you do not have Parallels Desktop and have not experienced it yourself.
