CANNOT SEE BLACKBERRY PODCAST APP ON PLAYBOOK

I have just received my Blackberry Playbook in the UK and am very impressed. However, I am led to understand that it should come preloaded with Blackberry's own Podcast app and I cannot find it on the tablet, though there is a support video on Blackberry's website for using the podcast. Help please!

Hi, any update to this? I have just bought a playbook and do not have the Podcast app either

  • Upgraded iTunes: now cannot see the Podcasts on my iPod nano

I know it sounds odd but I am genuinely sad that I have not been able to use my iPod for two days:
I bought an iPod nano when they first came out and have been very happy with it. Two days ago I upgraded iTunes for the first time (to 7.6.2.9). Since then I have not been able to "see" the Podcasts on my Nano from iTunes.
This is an issue because it is mostly full of music which I'd rather not delete, and the remainder is Podcasts which I download, load, and delete every day.
If I cannot delete the old Podcasts, I cannot fill it up with new ones.
The first thing I did was to upgrade the iPod firmware (to 1.3.1) but I still can't see the Podcasts. I have tried to read the documentation and go through all settings in iTunes, look on the web but with no success.
My friend has a similar generation iPod and iTunes (~7.5). On this version of iTunes, the Podcasts are also gone. When I plug in my friend's iPod it has a Podcast icon as well as the Music icon. The older version of iTunes let me, I think, see the Podcasts together with the Music.
Could I somehow have "deleted" a Podcast icon which iTunes need? Can it be restored save for wiping my beloved iPod clean? Can I gracefully downgrade to an old version of iTunes without losing my Music/Podcast library?
Is anyone familiar with the problem?
    Regards,
    Allan

Allan is this the same problem I have - downloaded a couple of chapters of a podcast onto nano - and they played fine - although I had to search for them to find them. Then connected to computer and wanted to search to delete them but no search brings them up? If it is the same, have you resolved your issue? I have same problem that no more room to store so I want to get rid of the listened to podcasts.(ps I'm on windows not mac) Thanks, Ele

  • I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and got an error then factory reset! Now I cannot see my Purchased Apps

I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and due to a unforeseen error on iTunes I had to do factory reset. I was using my friend's iMac iTunes to download and update, instead of OTA. Now I'm unable to see my previously purchased apps (some even discontinued that I was hanging on to as they still kind of worked)... Even after I logged into App store on my iPad (tried restoring iCloud and iTunes but no luck, somehow there isn't any backup)! I checked my App Store updates/purchases and see nothing. A forum suggested I try buying it anyway and it will say I already have it and not double charge, but I don't want to take that chance as most of these apps are over $4. I have receipts for all my purchases. Please help!

When you do an update via a computer's iTunes the update process will backup the device (a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings), wipe the device, install the update, and then restore the backup - the restore would look to pick up your apps, music, films etc from the iTunes library.
You've tried logging out (tap on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) and back in and seeing if they then show in the Purchased tab, and you could also check to see if the apps are hidden from Purchased : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
If an app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it. You haven't got copies of your apps in your own computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library ?

  • ITunes 8.2.1 cannot see the podcasts in iPod touch

I upgraded to iTunes 8.2.1 now.
Then iTunes downloaded some new/recent podcasts.
When I synced my iPod touch, iTunes showed this message:
The iPod "<my iPod name>" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (10.6GB required, 2.06GB available).
My iPod touch (with 3.0 OS) still contains about 9GB of podcasts,
but iTunes doesn't show it when I click on Devices->iPod touch.
My iTunes library shows all podcasts intact on my PC.
Checking Podcasts->Sync->all and All podcasts doesn't work.
If I could delete all podcasts on the iPod, I would, but there are like thousands and there is no "Delete" for a certain podacast folder.
I could only delete one by one, which I don't want to do because
there are like 1700+ of my Japanese audio lessons.
    Please help me!

Neither method worked. Replacing the music library and rolling back to 8.2 (after deleting four iTunes-related plist files) resulted in the same problem - everything syncs but my Music. I also reset the iPod Touch but that didn't make a difference.
The interim solution I found is to add Music to my iPod manually. I set my iTunes iPod Preferences to manually update the iPod and drag and drop away. A pain, but at least I can use the iPod until I figure out how to get Music to automatically sync again.

  • I cannot see my podcasts downloaded on ipad

Download page of itunes keep on showing the link to itunes store terms and conditions

Your downloaded (and synced) audio podcasts (along with music and audiobooks) should be in the Music app (if there are any podcasts on the iPad then they will be under the More button at the bottom of the app), and videos and tv shows in the Videos app - iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store.

  • I cannot see or select app icons in the App Store, they're there but blanked out

I Was prompted to update my Foxtel Go app, when I went to the App Store all the icons were blank and although selectable they won't download any updates.

Make sure you are signed in using the same Apple ID you used to originally download the app with.
From the App Store menu bar click Store > Sign In
If you are using the correct Apple ID, try here >  Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

  • How can I see my podcast in itunes when I download directly from my iphone Podcast App

Hi cannot see the podcast download in my mac.
However I can see in the summary that I have capacity space took that audio.
How can I manage my podcast via itunes?
I am sure that it is so simple that I don´t know how itunes work.
    Thank
    J

Delete the app from your device.  Restart your device once or twice.  After that, the device will realize you want to manage your podcasts using iTunes and will let you manage them from iTunes again.

  • HT201272 Cannot see previous App Store purchases

    Hi,
I have iTunes 11.02 with fully patched OS Lion.
I want to do a clean install of my machine so I need to download all my app purchases again (Logic Pro).
I cannot see my OSX App Store purchases yet I used this machine and this iTunes account to make the purchase.
    Any idea why?
    Thx in advance.

Read this whole message before doing anything.
    Back up all data.
Quit the App Store application if it’s running.
    Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.appstore
    Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist - corrupt
Leave the Library folder open. Try the App Store again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again. Go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
    Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
Again, some may not exist. Test. If the App Store now works, delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit again. Put back the files you moved, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place, and continue.
    Step 3
Log out, log in, and try again.

  • I realize I must be the last person looking for THE PODCAST APP for my new iPod touch, but after looking 4 times, I have given up thinking that app must be long retired now...thanks to anyone who could help a late-bloomer.

I realize I might be one of the last first-time buyers of an iPod Touch (latest version) but I cannot find the PODCAST APP for it anywhere! After wasting a total of an hour on 4 separate occasions today, I've given up, thinking perhaps I AM the last person who would need this app & it's 'retired'. Even typing in PODCAST APP & hitting the magnifier 10X's did NOTHING but hurt my finger tip. Could some nice person please help CONFUSED & CRAZED in CONNECTICUT? Thank you in advance!  Oh, one more question- How does 'one' get their older iPod players like the BOSE & 2 other good ones I have, WITH the Bluetooth music receivers I bought already on them, to actually DO what its designed to? Now add clueless, to my previous sign-off & not BORN in 1995! But, hey, I'm trying! ; )

You can connect the iPod to a computer and download the Podcast app using iTunes >  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/podcasts/id525463029?mt=8
Or, on your iPod, tap the App Store then type in Podcast then download the app. (It has the same purple icon as the one at the iTunes Store on a computer).
Only iPods with Bluetooth capability can, "pair" with Bluetooth BOSE devices.
On an iPod touch, tap Settings > Bluetooth.

  • Podcast app for Curve

I've had my Curve for a month now and still can't figure out how to access podcasts!!
Found this link to download the podcast app: http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/blackberry-apps/podcast.html#tab-1
The page lists system requirements (I have them all):
      System Requirements
To use the BlackBerry Podcast app, you will need the following:
    One of the following smartphones3: A BlackBerry® Bold™, BlackBerry® Curve™, BlackBerry® Pearl™, BlackBerry® Storm™, or BlackBerry® Tour™ smartphone.
Activation with a data plan including Internet browsing capability.
A MicroSD card (required for BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Tour and BlackBerry Pearl smartphones).
The BlackBerry Podcasts app is included on BlackBerry smartphones with BlackBerry® 6 OS
But when I follow all the instructions to download the app, I get the message: "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Blackberry Podcast."
Is the Curve a dud product?  Help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Me again:
I think I found the answer to my problem on this thread here in the forums:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/BlackBerry-Podcasts-on-OS-7-1/...
The good news is that there seems to be a solution to this problem.  The bad news is that the problem has existed for several months and BB Support doesn't seem to have a solution for it.
Hope this workaround helps someone in future.

  • BlackBerry Podcasts on OS 7.1

After recently upgrading my device software to my carrier’s latest official 7.1.0.342 release, my BlackBerry Podcasts app has completely disappeared. The icon appears but there is no functionality at all.
It does not appear in App World after refreshing the uninstalled list and clearing the cache.
All official links online are dead or the ‘system requirements’ message is displayed, which is obviously incorrect as the app has been previously used on the handset.
Once connected, it does not appear in the Desktop Manager under Applications.
Downgrading to the previous OS and then reloading the 7.1 Bundle 1149 (7.1.0.342) has also not made any difference.
I would really appreciate any information on why this component is not featured in the latest official release and any suggestions of how this issue can be resolved would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Download the podcast app again from here. It is not installed on your device. I had the same problems

  • Cannot see iPhone on network

I have a new iPhone5 and a year old MBA.  The MBA was just recently upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (the latest).
When I use the MBA network utility to try and ping my iPhone (which is on my home wifi network) ... it isnt visible.  The iPhone connects to the network fine.  The MBA is connected to the network.  The reason I am trying to resolve this is that the eWallet application doesnt want to synch and it seems to be because the desktop app cannot 'see' the iPhone app.
Any ideas on why the iPhone is invisible?  BTW, I have confirmed it is on the network as I can see it using the Linksys E2000 web admin tool.

Ilium has some tips here that may help:

  • Cannot see Bridge folder on BlackBerry's SD Card in PlayBook Bridge Files

I have learned that when downloading a file through the messages app on the PB, the file is stored in /Media Card/BlackBerry/documents/Bridge.  These files are accessible on the BB through the email the attachment came in.  However, I cannot access these files directly through the Bridge Files app as I cannot see the Bridge folder on my SD card.  However, if I download an attachment from my BB and select Store on Media Card, it is stored in /Media Card/BlackBerry/documents/ and is fully accessible from the PB.
Any ideas why I cannot see the Bridge folder from the PB? Is that by design? I know it is hidden by default, but I make it visible so it shows in the BB's Files app.  If I rename the folder to Bridge2, it is fully accessible on the PB and subsequently loaded documents are in a newly-created Bridge folder, which is again hidden by default.
    BB9900 OS 7.0.0.503
    BES
    16 GB PB 1.08.6067
PS - FWIW, I had this same problem on my 9700 also on a BES, so I don't think it is an OS 7 issue.
    Thanks!

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to this. The linked support article addresses the issue directly (thank you both), but the method recommended there (importing the entire AVCHD folder structure) didn't solve the problem. The small number of videos that iPhoto could not see originally also did not get imported, though the ones that it could originally see, did. Luckily since the percentage seems to be small (~10%), it is not prohibitive to open them one by one in Quicktime, re-export them, and then import them into iPhoto. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. Thank you all for your suggestions.

  • Can android apps see Blackberry Remember notes/task??

    Hi,
Can android apps see Blackberry Remember notes/tasks?
The app in question is a grasshopper phone app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grasshopper.dialer&hl=en)
and it requests access to the phone (obviously), contacts, shared files and device / identifying information.
My device is encrypted if it makes a difference
    Thanks
    B

Android apps were made easy by RIM to convert and 'sign' by the developers so the apps can run on the PlayBook. I assume RIM checks them for compatibility and quality.  So some of the apps you may see on the App Store are actually converted apps. There is no designation as such.
Android apps use a different file format from the PlayBook, so you can't just load an Android app into the PB and expect it to run. RIM's operating system runs apps in bar file format.
Yes, you can reinstall apps you reinstall. Go to App World / My World and you will see all your apps installed and uninstalled. You can always reinstall uninstalled apps.
I love my Playbook. Spend a little time with it and you will love it to. Also this is a good board to find help of needed.
