I need to download a video clip called Flip4mac onto my Safari browser, which will then enable me to view it. I cannot see where I access safari preferences on my ipad to do this.
Any help please - thanks Douglas

The video may be a Flash video. Adobe has not made, and will not make, Flash for mobile devices including the iPad. So you may not ever be able to view the video.

  • Font Book Problem - Cannot see validated fonts in QuarkXpress

We are trying to view the fonts that we have loaded into the font book from QuarkXpress. We can see the fonts in Adobe Design Premium apps (Photoshop, Illistrator, etc.) but not in Quark 7.3.1. The fonts validate fine in the book. We have tried removing Quark and reinstalling it. We have tried booting into safe mode to clear out the font cache. We have done a permissions repair, verified permissions manually for user accounts on the new font folder that is created, and removed and readded the fonts under the user and the computer sections of the font book. The fonts are ITC Kabel fonts. They work fine on another Mac that we are running Leopard on as well, but they are not visible through QuarkXpress from a different user account on this same Mac with the problem. The only thing that I can think of is a system reload using the restore settings option to keep her settings? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Since we have reloaded Quark, I may try doing an install and archive on the OS. Maybe this will correct the problem?
Maybe, it depends on what's wrong with Quark. It could be that the OS is indeed damaged and preventing Quark from operating properly. But it still could be another instance of Kabel being active. You searched for Kabel by name, but that's not how fonts actually work.
Say you have a Word document on the desktop named "Budget report April 2008", but when you open it, the text is a grocery list. Fonts fall in that category. The name of a font you see on the desktop has nothing to do with the name that may show up in your programs. All fonts have an internal name. That's the one that gets reported to the system and is displayed in your applications.
A suitcase of TrueType fonts can have up to 999 fonts stuffed in it. There's no telling what you'll get in your font lists until you activate the suitcase. So it's entirely possible you have Kabel as a font that's named something else on the desktop, or you have a suitcase of fonts active that has a font declaring itself as Kabel in it.
Before going through an Archive and Install, create a new folder on the desktop. Move every font in the /Library/Fonts/ folder and the Fonts folder of your user account into the new folder. Use Font Finagler to clear the system's font cache files. Let the Mac restart.
Now move just the font named Kabel back to the folder it was originally in. If it now shows up in Quark, you had a font conflict with something else you moved out of the Fonts fodlers.

  • ITunes 11.0.1 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit Cannot see text (font does not display)

I have installed the latest version of iTunes on my home PC with Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) 32-bit Home Edition.
I cannot read the text on many iTunes screens/pages due to the font not showing at all.
I have also tried to install the Segoe UI true-type font (and its variant such as bold, italic, etc.) but the problem remains.
    Please help.

I have eventually managed to resolve my issue by:
    1) Installing "Segoe UI" fonts in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
    2) Changing my default colour profile to "sRGB Color Space Profile".
Navigate to My Computer > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color Management.
Click Add button and select sRGB Color Space Profile.icm from the Add Profile Association pop-up window.
    Select sRGB Color Space Profile.
Click on the Set as Default button.
    Click on Apply, OK, OK.

  • Cannot see suitcase fonts

i can only see type kit fonts after installing extension manager???

    Hi Sara,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Some users have reported an issue in the current version of InDesign and other CC apps which can temporarily deactivate installed fonts. Please note that this is actually unrelated to Typekit; it just happens to occur at the time you see our logo in the missing fonts window.
The InDesign and app teams teams are still investigating the factors which trigger this situation, but the basic issue is this: the Missing Fonts dialog causes fonts which are managed through Extensis Suitcase and FontExplorer to not auto-activate correctly, or for managed fonts to even be visible in the application after upgrade.
In both cases, the Missing Fonts dialog appears to override the Font Management tool dialogs that allow users to manage fonts within the Application.
If you use Suitcase Fusion, there is a simple configuration change needed:
    1. close the Missing Fonts window
    3. go to the Type menu and select "Suitcase Fusion 5".
    3. From the submenu, choose "Library" and then check "All Libraries" so all fonts can be auto-activated as needed
    4. from the Type menu, select "Suitcase Fusion 5" again, and then "Check Document’s Fonts" to activate the missing fonts,
If the font is being managed by Suitcase, it will find and update the fonts.
In FontExplorer, if your managed fonts are not visible in InDesign after upgrading to InDesign 9.2
    Go to FontExplorer/Tools and select
    1. Clean System Font Caches (this will require a system reboot)
    2. Clean Application Font Caches
On non-Mavericks systems, you will need to de-activate and then reactivate font protection.  Launch a terminal window and enter
    sudo atsutil fontprotection -off
    Then enter
    sudo atsutil fontprotection -on
Relaunch the app. your managed fonts should now be visible and auto-activation should work.
The fonts can always be activated from within the Font Management software itself, even with the missing fonts dialog open.
The InDesign and other app teams are looking into the issue to determine the root cause as well; our apologies for any inconvenience it causes in the meantime.
    Cheers,
    Benjamin

  • Can't see Bengali Fonts Safari 5.0.3

Recently, I upgraded from Safari 5.0.2 to 5.0.3. And up until now, I was able to see Bengali Fonts in Safari.
But now I can't. I can see it in other browsers, but not in Safari. What's going on Apple?
Anyway, check out the differences of these two browsers while viewing the same page in Bengali>

No, it's not just Wikipedia Pages, but every other pages that's in Bengali. FYI, I'm not using any modifications. I've tried Unicode and Wester European eccodings with no luck.
I doubt that it's an encoding issue, more likely a problem with Safari's handling of the Windows Unicode Bengali font. You might try downloading and installing some other ones and see if it makes any difference.

If it doesn't, then it seems like a bug in Safari that Apple will have to fix.

  • When I go into my email account through Safari, I cannot see all of my messages.  26 may show on the screen but it says I have 32.  However, at the bottom right it appears as if all the messages are showing and the arrow to get more is not highlighted.

When I go to my email account through Safari, I cannot see all of my messages.  It says there are 34 but I can only see 26.   However, at the bottom right  the arrows to go to the next screen are not highlighted?  I also cannot scroll any further down.  Does anyone know how to scroll down to see all of my messages?  I use Travel-net Communications as my email provider (Ottawa, On, Canada).

    hey ,
if it is showing you 34 mails them it is correct. when you see your mail. apple has a smart way of arranging your mail.suppose you recieve 4 mails from one email id it will show you under one highlighted mail. so when you open a mail from anyone trying scrolling it down and you will find your missing mails.

    Settings>General>Accessibility>Increase Contrast
    Settings>General>Accessibility>Bold Text
are some settings that may help.
There are other settings there ...they may not be to your liking but try them all anyways.
But that's about all you can do for now...except to voice your opinion to Apple here:

How can i get rid of this iidiotic pop-up. allple is changing for the worst. you have to buy a new macpro in order to upgrade to a higher system, sounds like obamacare.

You have probably clicked on a mailto: web link which directs links to send e-mail messages to wherever the webmaster chooses.    Go to the View menu -> Show Statusbar if it available, and then make sure the bottom of your screen is visible.  When you hover over a link, if it says: mailto: it will open in your default e-mail reading application set by your browser or your e-mail program preferences.
Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Software Update lets you change how often you see the software update window.

  • I cannot see in InDesign the fonts I just installed

I installed some new fonts in my computer and I cannot see them in InDesign CC 2014. I copied the font files into the Font File of Indesign and still I cannot see them in InDesign.
If anybody has any suggestion I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you

I did that, right click, install and I get the small window that the font is being installed but then I cannot see it in InDesign and if I check the Fonts in Control Panel it is not there. Yesterday I installed same fonts and it worked perfectly they were .otf. The fonts I am trying to install today are .ttf but I guess it should work anyway.
