Cannot see iPhoto iTunes shared documents

Hello. I have attached my new iPad to my macbook pro and selected the ipad in iTunes. Then I selected the App tab at the top and scrolled down to apps that can share documents between the iPad and the computer. I then select iPhoto and load photos into the window on the right. Now I open iPhoto on the iPad, but I do not see how to then transfer the photos that I had selected for sharing in itunes.
I have done this sort of transfer with a Keynote presentation where Keynote for the iPad allows you to add from itunes a presentation selected for sharing.

Log off of Home sharing on your IOS device then log back in.  That should resolve it.  You might have to do this every time you shut down iTunes on your main computer - i do, maybe you'll be luckier.

    Hi Monty,
Sorry to say it, but this is normal for Apple TVs. I've owned a TV2 and a TV3, and neither lasted for an entire year. They are quite fragile and of low quality, and as you can see here, quite fussy even when they work. The wi-fi receiver on these are cheap and unreliable.
Consider the $99 an annual rental fee. They rarely work for a whole year, so if you are going to use the platform, you will have to replace them constantly.
Also, when one dies under warranty, never, never send it to Apple for repair. Go to the Apple Store for replacement. I sent my ATV3 in for warranty repair using a box sent to me by Apple, and although FedEx tracking showed it was accepted by Apple, it was never seen again. Apple won't replace it or even return my calls.

I cannot see my iTunes library in iPhoto to add music to a slideshow

    Hi Mary3400,
I'm not sure which version of iPhoto you are using, but see if the troubleshooting in this article helps.

The top section explains how to, the second section is for if you don't see your iTunes library as a source.

I recently put all of my music on an external hard drive to free up space on my computer,

Can anyone tell me how I can see my itunes music folder on my external hard drive while I am in preferences, advanced, library location, change??

I don't know enough about iTunes for Windows to help you with this. But if you post your question in the Using iTunes for Windows forum you will get help from people who know more about this.

  • Picasa cannot see iPhoto

Since I have upgraded to Lion (10.7.2) and iPhoto '11 (9.2.1) Picasa (3.8.9) couldn't see iPhoto.
Picasa can't find iPhoto Library, and selecting in Picasa File -> Import from iPhoto results the following message:
Could not read the iPhoto Library.
The library at /Users/<username>/Picture/iPhoto Library/ has a corrupted AlbumData.xml file.
Google references to Apple Support (http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=141059) and some tips on Apple Support (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1192) don't work.
Have you met with a similar case and could help?

Terence, thanks for your reply. I didn't realize Picasa used an unsupported way to access iPhoto.
Actually, I consider changing from iPhoto to Picasa due to Picasa's lightness, efficiency and effectiveness in face recognition among others, and I wanted to import the iPhoto library first.

  • Third party application cannot see my itunes music. including iPhoto iMovie. any help?

i have music purchased from iTunes store and that have added my self, but when i go to iphoto and try a slideshow i try to choose music from my iTunes library the list is empty same with imovie, and other apps any help?

Right that is the point. I had a whole slew of eligible songs purchased from iTunes in my library that now are not available for purchase. For example I just purchased two songs that have the icon in the iTunes store. After I purchase them the icon in the "Bell" ringtone column is not showing for the songs that should be eligible. The only recent change I've made is this third part application. So I am thinking this has messed with my library somehow.

  • Cannot see "all" iTunes movies on Apple TV but can Air Play all of them?

    Hi all.
I have a Mac Mini running Mountain Lion (Now Mavericks but had the same issue before today) with a Pegasus R6 drive storing my iTunes library. The issue I am having is when I go to either one of my Apple TVs about 90% of the movies in iTunes show up in the list. I have re installed the Apple TV OS as well as had one of the units replaced. I don’t get the issue with photos, music, TV shows etc just the movies. Originally I thought it may have been wrong format as there is a combo of DVD rips using Pavtube BD ripper (encoded for Apple TV) and some from my Sony Action Cam but there is nothing consistent about the ones not showing. The strange thing is when I locate these movies that are not listed in iTunes and use the airplay feature to send it to the Apple TV it has no issues at all? As a side note I had the same issue on my old network but not have 4 brand new Airport Extremes and this mini was a replacement for an iTunes that had the same issues so I don’t think its OS.
    Any thoughts wonderful people?

James Ward4  Thanks for your suggestion.  I have tried the video app and it appears to have some, but not all of the downloads which are viewable without wifi, so I will now review the download process and see if I can capture the missing episodes.  Thanks again.

  • We have never used multiple User Accounts on our iMac. The only reason we want to is for iMessage, Mail, FaceTime, Notifications, iCloud. However, we want to share iPhoto, iTunes, and documents/folders. Should I share Macintosh HD?

Macintosh HD > Get Info > (select) Shared Folder
Is this the best way for my wife and I to share common folders and files, but not usernames, messages, and email?

  • Cannot see some of shared music

    Hi,
I am using home sharing for a while but just recently noticed that not all of the music in teh shared library can be seen form my iOS devices. The shared library that is on my Mac contains c.a. 200 CDs either copied form original CDs or purchsed from iTunes. Only some of them (48) show up on the list on my iPhone and iPad.
I am running latest iOS 6.1.3 on both iPhone 4S and iPad2 and lates iTunes (11.0.2 64 bit) on my Mac.
I have an iPhone/iPad dock from of the HiFi vendors connected to HiFi system and accessing my shared library is the only easy way to have access to all digitial musi on my Mac (would not fit into iPhone or iPad) therefore it is important to understand whether there is any limitation for home sharing in terms of the number of shared objects?

Following all the instructions..but still can't see itunes

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions
Connect the drive. Then go to Macintosh HD > Applicaitons > Utilties > Disk Utility. Select the drive on the left hand pane and then click on the Erase tab. Then choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" from the drop down menu. Click "Erase". Quit Disk Utility.
I suspect the drive came in NTFS format which is now fairly standard for WindowsPCs. Although a Mac can read data on an NTFS drive it can't write data to it.
The iMac G4 1GHz 17" only has USB1.1 (12Mbps) so this drive will be very slow if you've got it connected by USB. However, if you have the iMac G4 1GHz 15", that has USB2.0 (480Mbps) so will be okay. Firewire is the fastest way to connect an external hard drive to a computer so use that option if you can.
Let us know how you get on.
    cheers
