Cannot see itunes library in Photos slideshow

When creating a slideshow with PHOTOS, I compiled and edited the pictures. When trying to include music from my iTunes library, I get the following message: "Open iTunes to populate this list". No way of seeing my iTunes library within Photos, hence no slideshow with music from my library.
I've tried trashing the iTunes XML file, but no result.
iMac (late 2013), OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, latest iTunes
Thanks.

I just created a test slideshow and then clicked on the music icon on right side and my iTunes library shows up

Running iTunes 11.0.2 on Windows 7.  Intermittently apple tv cannot see iTunes library anymore.  Sometimes I have to go so far as to restore to an earlier restore point to get it to work.  How can I trace the network communication to see what is happening?

  • We have 3 computers that have been authorized to home share but we cannot see eachothers library since updated to the latest version.  Is there something I am misssing?

We have 3 computers that have the latest itunes version and now we cannot see eachothers library anymore.  All of them are authorized. I unauthorized, reauthorized, in both the store and itunes to no avail.  Is this just the way the new version is designed or is there something we are missing? I recently wiped the computer clean of all Itunes songs/files after several years of my son managing his itouch on it, so we are all clean of previous files. What is the deal?

It most definitely is the browser that is causing most of the problems. I have used Firefox so long, I can't even remember. Maybe since its beginning. But today is a sad day. I gave up on it. I can't accomplish anything and end up spending hours troubleshooting. I see I am not alone. I am so sick of it "not responding." It's simply not worth it to spend so much time trying to make the thing work, so I can actually do something. Installed, removed, reinstalled numerous times, and I can't fix your software on my Win 7 Pro machine. No problems with IE or Chrome. So. as much as I hate Google Update, Chrome has won the test. Sad, sad day for me to lose Firefox, but it just does not work on the Win 7 machine. I don't have the same issues with the XP machine and have exactly all the same add-ons. Keep it up developers and you will have no Win 7 users at all.

  • How can I use my itunes library for iphoto slideshow?

how can I use my itunes library for iphoto slideshow?

    Here's a possible workaround:
Create the slideshow in Iphoto and add a theme and music.
Install Picasa  and it will include the slideshow on it's indexed list.
Upload the slideshow to PicasaWebAlbums and send the link to anyone you wish.
The music and theme is preserved.
Caveat: My playback pictures appear darker than usual but that could be just lousy photography...:)

  • Sign out of one itunes account and sign into another seperate account on same macbook.  Cannot access itunes library for 2nd account

Sign out of one itunes account and sign into another seperate itunes account on same macbook.  Cannot access itunes library for 2nd account.  How do I do this?

iTunes account is not the same as iTunes library.
iTunes account is what you use to purchase from iTunes.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.
You can have items from multiple iTunes accounts in one iTunes library.

I cannot see my iTunes library in iPhoto to add music to a slideshow

    Hi Mary3400,
I'm not sure which version of iPhoto you are using, but see if the troubleshooting in this article helps.
iPhoto '11: Add music to a slideshow
The top section explains how to, the second section is for if you don't see your iTunes library as a source.

  • Cannot map iTunes library to iPhoto

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Check out Lori's post in this thread, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=446667&tstart=0, with her links to screenshots showing how to get the individual tracks and playlists to display.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Why can't I use Snapfish anymore with iPhoto 08? I cannot see the library.

I recently upgraded to iPhoto (iLife 08) now when I try to upload pics to snapfish it cannot see the folder. I know it is there cause I see it in Finder. It shows all other folders but the iPhoto folder is invisible. Does anyone know a setting or a way that I can utilize photo developing other than the proprietary ones for Apple?
Please help. I feel like I've been swindled. (Seems Like something Microsoft would do)
    Jeff

    Jeff
You haven't been swindled, no one is forcing you to do anything.
With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Unix Style Package File. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
It has never been the correct procedure to root through the iPhoto Library Folder - in fact on every version the documentation has expressly stated that you should never do so.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
All of these are faster and safer than rooting around in the iPhoto Library Folder
You might also check if Snapfish have updated their plug-in for iPhoto yet? If Snapfish haven't bothered to update their plug-in, you might want to check out many of the other services that have. Or are supported by an app like PictureSync. So, nothing proprietary there.
    Regards

  • Can't see itunes library or iphoto library in imovie

When creating a project in imovie, you can normally add music from you itunes library. When I click on the Music icon, my itunes linrary of song are not availble to add. There is a message that I need to open itunes to see the songs. I have itunes open and it does not help.
I have the same issue with iphoto, the images are not availble to selected when I click the camera icon to add photos to imovie. Very strange.
So far, I have repaired disk permissions, reinstalled imovie, created a new iphot library, new itunes library, restarted each application several times, restarted the computer.

I needed to create a new user account on the computer. Went to system preferences, users and group, created a new users with admin rights. I then opened itunes and signed in, opened iPhoto and recopied my images, opened imovie and my music and images were available again.

  • Any way to see song title during photo slideshow?

I enjoy music with photo slideshows and would love to find a way to see the title of the song that is playing. I have a large music library and sometimes a song comes on that I either love or hate and it would be nice to know the artist/title. Any way?

It's not quite the same thing but if you set your screensaver to play slideshows and then selected to play music, say the shuffle option after 2 minutes (default) the screensaver would kick in and you have your slideshows complete with music, if you then heard a track you wanted info about you could just kill the screensaver by pressing the menu button.

  • Apple TV does not see iTunes Library as on

I have been using ATV for a few months now, I sync photos to ATV and stream music from my computer using iTunes. When I go to sources, I see my library in a greyed out letters and all attempts to connect tell me to turn on the computer and launch iTunes, all the above are on.
This is a new problem after update of software.

I've updated both iTunes and the ATV software. I can now do the uTube thing fine.
I want to sync photos and stream music from same computer. This worked until I did the above updates.
From the ATV, I see my computer to sync photos, but when I want to stream my music from the same computer, the library appears in ATV as a source but it is GREY, as if the computer is not on. The computer is on and running iTunes. When I change my library name in iTunes, the ATV shows the new name, but still greyed out. This is new behavior in the new software. I was able to both Sync photos and stream music from the same computer in the past. Now do I have to turn off sync to stream music from the same source?

  • Cannot get iTunes library to load???

Help! For whatever reason, I cannot get my new apple tv to access my iTunes library. I followed all instructions and had no problem accessing netflix. Just can't seem to get my library up. Any ideas?

I think I have the same problem. I can access the itunes store, youtube etc from the apple tv, I can play items on my playlist on the apple tv by switching to apple tv speakers on the bottom of my itunes page. But when it comes to loading my library the wheel just keeps on turning. There does seem to be a connection to my itunes as changes to my library name in itunes is reflected on the apple tv under "Computers"
I am not sure that this has anything to do with it, but I do not have a "SHARED" library in itunes even though my Home Sharing is switched on, which is verified by the fact that I can see my library name and play music on the apple tv.

  • AppleTV Cannot find iTunes Library (Wifi vs Nat)

My AppleTV for my living room was once using my wifi from my Airport Extreme. I was able to see my iTunes library that is on my iMac from the AppleTV.
Just now I hardwired my AppleTV to my Airport Extreme, and suddenly I cannot see my iTunes library. It says that my library is not on the same network. But my iMac is connected via wifi to the Airport, and the AppleTV is connected via the network cable connection.
Anyone have a fix, or an idea on a possible fix for this? (Besides taking the AppleTV back to wifi. And connecting the iMac via network cable, as it is in my office)

Have you tried restarting the router, Apple TV and Mac after making the changes. I assume you have a working internet connection to the Apple TV.
