Cannot see my USB PCI Device.

Hello,
I have an USB 3 PCI Device that was working on M$ Windows but on Arch x86_64 not.
i ran # lspci and couldn't see it there.
What else can i do to solve this?

well, it is an expansion card (PCI) so i ran lspci and didn't see nothing there (as i mentioned before)
but i tried to execute "lsusb" and i didn't saw nothing like "Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub"

It isn't supposed to pair with the MacBook. You can use WiFi to connect but not Bluetooth. You can setup a personal HotSpot on the iPhone and connect the MacBook, or setup the MacBook AirPort to create a network and attach the iPhone, and use the USB cable to connect the iPhone to the MacBook for syncing and backup purposes.
The communications are rather limited.

Ipod classic has been wiped. cannot see it on the 'device list' in my itunes. I have tried restoring to factory settings and reloading...it reloads some of the music, but when I plug the Ipod back in, it wipes it again.

Make sure your headphones are plugged in all the way, meaning you cannot see any of the silver still showing from the headphone's plug.
A feature of the Nano is to put it to sleep when the display goes out and it does not detect any headphones.

I cannot see the USB printer I attached to my Time Capsule's USB port. I am using a Mac Air, with Maverick OS, and connecting between my Mac and the TC via an ethernet link. Suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by "see" the USB printer.
If you simply plugged the printer in to the Time Capsule, it will not be "seen" by anything.
You won't "see" the printer until you use System Preferences > Print & Scan on both of your Macs to "Add" the printer. Did you do this for both Macs?

Did you correctly format your usb stick in accordance with the Boot Camp installation instructions? Go here to the Boot Camp System Requirements page, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634, look for your computer model/year and download the correct version of Windows Support software.

AirDisk - cannot see the USB disk in Finder

Dear all,
I just brought the Airport Extreme Base Station with the purpose to use an external HD shared with all my Macs
The AEBS works quite well, but I’m not able to see the USB disk in the Finder…
In the airport utility I can easily see that AEBS recognize the USB disk, and that that disk is connected, and I’m sure that that disk works well and that is formatted as Mac OS Extended
Even after checking the huge problem affecting this firmware release (mine is 7.2.1) and following all of the suggestion posted by the community (connect, disconnect, restart, pray for an update) I cannot even see the disk in Finder…
I’ve heard of people that cannot mount or access or disconnect… but I cannot really see the disk itself…
Any suggestion?

I got mine working now! As the problem started to seem like an authentication issue (disk was in "connecting" mode for eternity) I started to think that the problem might be actually in MacBook Pro/Leopard end of the system rather than in the Airport Extreme or AirDisk. I tried then to create a new account and "account preferences" application got all stuck - was not possible even to force quit. I then forced the MacBook to shut down with the power button and rebooted. A miracle happened! Now I can see the folders of the AirDisk and can copy there. Next I will test whether I also have the same problem that backup with Leopard to AirDisk is extremely (read prohibitive) slow.
I hope this simple trick helps others as well
I am keenly waiting for the next Leopard update... have to say that being used to great Apple user experience this has been a major disappointment. It seems that Apple is leaving us alone with our problems. They should facilitate somehow these forums and pull together FAQ's as suggested by many.

I am unable to see any of my devices (Iphone 3GS, Iphone 4, Iphone 4S and Iphone 5) in Itunes. All appear fine in windows and can be browsed via windows explorer. I have restarted AMDS and checked all the drivers? Have windows updates or Itunes updates cause a compatibility issue at all?

Music don't upload to Icloud and I cannot see it on my devices

I'm having some troubles trying to puto new folders on Icloud, all the time I put my music on itunes pc, match it with icloud and after that I can see all music on my devices, two days ago I tried as ever the same uploading 2 new music folders but the don't match with my cloud and I cannot see it on my Iphone or Apple TV, I tried convert to AAC, Push Upload to Icloud using right mouse button option on CD folder, Put songs into itunes folder standard, disable Itunes Match and enable it again on itunes PC, on my iphone I tried the same, put off itunes match mode, and icloud too, and nothing happend, the thing is the music CD is on apple store to so I believe even it's not necessary to upload file just only match it but nothing happend.
Please if any had ever the same error or believe something maybe it's wrong, I will be greatfull with some help.

In iTunes click on View in menu bar.
Select Show sidebar.
You will get a traditional iTunes view window with the side bar listing similar to an explorer window.
At the top of the main window you will see a button called Rented
Click on that and you will find your purchase ready to play.

Cannot see my USB on my computer

I have a 16 Gigabyte integral USB, I use it to store important collage works, however recently I used this USB device to try out the windows 7 ready boost and it was working fine until a few days ago when I want to update my collage documents that i realised
i could not see the USB on my computer. I have tried to uninstall all the USB devices from device manager and it still didn't work. I have also tried other similar techniques but no success. Any help would be much appreciated.

USB storage is slower than RAM. ReadyBoost only helps if your computer doesn’t have enough RAM. If you have more than enough RAM, ReadyBoost won’t really help.

Check the location of your iTunes library in the preferences, and navigate to that folder. The contents will vary depending on how onld teh library is etc, but there should be a folder for applications. If you do not see it, navigate to the App Store within iTunes and download a free app. Then go look again. Copy your old apps from the CD into this location. You will need to ensure that whatever iTunes ID was used to purchase them originally is authorised in the new iTunes library.

I have an onboard audio device -- a Radeon HD 6500D -- which appears in aplay -l as two different audio cards -- the HDMI audio, and an analog audio. In addition, I have an external USB audio card I use for podcasts. So the three audio devices are:

Here's the problem: Every time I reboot, that list changes. Sometimes the USB card is 0, sometimes 1, sometimes 2. So any configurations that specify card/device like 0:0 or 2:0 stop working if the device order changes. This not only messes up the podcast software (idjc) but also anything that simply plays through the default audio -- since default may sometimes be 0:0, sometimes 0:1, etc. I worked around this by creating three different asound.conf files where it identifies "default" as any one of those three, or I can just keep rebooting until they're in my preferred order.
Is there any way I can force it to consistently use the same card number for the same device across reboots?

There are (at least) two ways that are both covered in the wiki. You can either use device names rather than numbers (in .asoundrc), or create a modprobe .conf file to specify the order of loading.
I've used both methods, and they each worked well.

Hi, I tried to set up a new output audio device on my mac that would have multiple outputs (iBox Twist speaker and my internal speaker) but when I went to click onto one of the iBox Twist (there were 2 options available: iBox Twist and iBox Twist Stereo), Audio MIDI Setup crashed and when I finally got that back open, I found that there were no audio input or output devices to be found. My sound is working, as when I turn on my iMac, the starting sound still plays, however the volume control in the menu bar is no longer a black colour, but grey and when I try to change the sound on my keyboard it does not change. This already happened to me once, and after 3 hours I managed to fix it very simply (switching off Mac, unplugging power cord, leaving for 15 seconds, plug power cord back in and switch Mac back on, holding Alt, Cmd, P and R keys until you hear the Starting Up sound twice) however this same technique that fixed it once before is not working this time and I am still stuck without sound. I have tried Repair Permissions, rebooting in Safe Mode, Hardware Test and checking for Software Updates. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.

Time Machine cannot see networked USB drive

I'm trying to set up time machine with my USB drive attatched to an Airport Extreme but the "choose backup disk" box is empty when selecting a backup drive.
I read something that said "Time Machine will not work on any network-attached storage unless it's HFS+ on Leopard being shared via AFP (not SMB)", but I'm new to Macs and don't understand what this means.
I've noticed that browsing the info of the USB disk (which incidently IS mounted on my desktop) it says the server location is at 'smb://airportextreme' etc etc. I'm assuming the 'smb' is where the problem may lie?
