Cannot see "Portable Document Format" under Options Applications ?

I was regularly using Foxit PDF reader plugin to view pdf files inside Firefox browser before the pdfjs plugin came through. After that I have disabled the pdfjs plugin (through about:config) and tried many ways to get back to viewing pdfs in the browser using the Foxit plugin but nothing works.
I have reinstalled Firefox, reinstalled the Foxit pdf plugin.
When I go to Options > Options > Applications,
I cannot see the "Portable Document Format" option on the left column.
There is Adobe Acrobat Forms and XML and there is "Foxit Reader Document" (presumably PDF) and "Foxit Reader FDF Document" - I want to change those opening actions to Foxit inside Firefox, but there is no such option either - so Firefox can just download the file and then open in the external Foxit reader, but not inside it.
Any help to resolve this is appreciated.

You can't see the PDF under Options -> Applications because you disabled pdf.js in about:config (I think you set pdfjs.disabled to "true", right?)
If you go again to about:config and set pdfjs.disabled to "false" you'll see the PDF option again! To change how you view it just click on the spinner on the right. If you have the Foxit PDF reader plugin installed you'll see that in the list of available applications.

And please, don't use about:config to change your preferences, it can be dangerous: it's preferable to change them from Options.

They are all different. Hover your mouse pointer over each of the "Content Type" descriptions and you should see a "tooltip" to see that each has a different description.

All you now have to do is use that variable to the value property of your text field... So add this at the end of your code:

The "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon, so selecting Adobe Reader as action does not work to display the PDF.

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. Essentially, a PDF is coming in as a Word document -- and the computer tries to open it up as a Word file.
How do I get the correct PDF icon in the Applications list -- the same way it displays (and works) on my other laptop.

Not sure if I'm following you exactlly,
If your not seeing Apps in the sidebar, open iTunes Preferences and in the General tab make sure that the Apps box is checked.
Also note: that only iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch iOS App's that are Synced with the computer will appear in the iTunes Apps Library.
Plus if you are trying to remove App Store App's from your Mac? Just move them to the trash from your Application Folder and the go to the App Store, login to Purchases and hide them.

Not seeing Portable Document File in the Content type listing

Newly downloaded and installed Firefox doesn't have Portable Document File format option in the Content Type listing. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 11 which is working fine parallely. The Plug-in's and Add-Ons have all been set correctly.

You can rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

I am to get to use the release version of Adobe Edge, having had a couple of the pre-releases.
I have signed up for Creative Cloud, downloaded and ran the application manager, however I cannot see Adobe Edge/Animate anywhere.
Am I doing something wrong?

Download and Install the latest version of Adobe Application Manager from the below link :

Cannot see the "get CD information" option

I have a 5310 and when I ripped my first few CD's onto the phone using Nokia PC Suite the "CD information" from Gracenote came up without a problem. On the next occasion when using Nokia Music Manager v2.0, I noted that the CD information was not coming up after inserting the CD into the drive and so I tried to initiate this by looking under Options for "get CD information" but this option does not exist for me to select (even when trying the same CD's as before, for which the info came up OK). AS a result, I am finding I need to type all the CD details and I know that this should not be necessary. Any ideas what has gone wrong?

I have 2 ipads, and cannot see my documents on the second one

I have 2 ipads: I am not able to see the documents I've written on icloud on the second one. I've checked my settings for icloud and the app itself ont he second ipad, but nothing seems to work. From the app itself - on my settings page - I switched the " use icloud" botton to "on", but it doesn't stay on. Whenever I leave the settings page ad come back, it automatically switches back to "off", as if I didn't have the option...

Cannot see rescue e-mail change option in my Apple ID account

I want to change my Apple ID e-mail address due to the loss of my old e-mail. However my current e-mail address is set as my rescure e-mail address but I cannot see how to remove it in my Apple ID editing area.
So I need to,
1. Remove my rescue address from list (wherever it is written)
2. Change my old e-mail address which is used as my Apple ID currenty TO my rescue address that I removed from being a "rescue address"

I connected my apple tv in my hotel room. I connected it to the hotels wifi but its only giving me options for "Computer" and "setttings". None of my Apple TV apps are coming up. Help!

Welcome to the Apple community.
That indicates it isn't connected to the internet, how did you connect to wifi.
Hotel networks can be a problem since they can block communication for the Apple TV and sometimes they need to be logged into using a web browser, which the Apple TV doesn't have.

Cannot see Illustrator CC 2104 in my Applications although it is in CC desktop APP

Hi I have tried and tried to get my head around trying to get Illustrator CC 2014 into my Applications on my MAC. It is showing in my Creative Cloud Desktop App on my MAC and has been updated.
I can only use and open Illustrator CC from my Applications. Have anyone got any ideas as what to do.
What I have done so far is reinstall the Creative Cloud and this has not worked. I have read and re read as many forums as possible on this subject and I have no answers. I have been away for a week and I am still at a loss. I am a member and paying money but not being able to use the latest Illustrator is annoying to say the least.
It will open when I send files from my iPad using Adobe ideas app, that is how I found out it existed and wandered why it was not showing on my Desktop. SO frustrating trying to go around and around in circles, surely other people have had this problem.

I have been trying for weeks to find the answer to my problems. I have Illustrator CC 2014 installed on my Creative Cloud desktop App and I can see it there!!!! but it does not want to come into my applications so I can use it on my desktop. I still have Illustrator CC and this is working OK apart from the fact it is was not syncing so I had to go into my Admin account and sort it out. A man emailed me asking for logs which I have sent him three times, via this forum and email! I waited at least a week and he said he still had not got them so I sent them again.
Adobe is rubbish at helping properly, they have these new products but do not help if there is a problem, there is no explanation and they seem to take over all the forums on problems with their products. I really need some help, I am a designer and I use this App for my work. I need to update to Adobe CC 2014 so i can use the Creative Cloud libraries. If anyone reads this from Adobe I hope you know you treat your customers shockingly especially when they are paying good money for a product. What has happened to the man (staff) from this previous post?

Home folder name change, cannot see enable the root user option

Hi I am using Mac OS X (10.6.8)..got it from others.. I would like to change the home (small home symbol in finder) folder name. Went through many discussion in apple support. My problem is, I am unable to enable the root user. I went through the following steps: Apple menu -System Preferences- Accounts- authenticated as an administrator account- Login Options- Join- Open Directory Utility- Directory Utility window- administrator account name and password, then clicked OK. After this I can not see option with name Enable root user ( I can see only Active directory, BSD flat file and NIS, LDAPv3, Local). If I click active directory then the edit section will be activated. If I click edit, its showing active directory domain). I can not understand this.
Can anybody help me out please..

Here are the instructions from Apple on changing user short name or home directory name. I've used this on a couple of used MacBooks I've bought on eBay. And remember to go into System Preferences>Sharing and change the Computer Name in there.

I cannot see Pages documents on my mobile devices using iCloud

I have switched pages on in Settings - icloud - documents and data
I have checked that all devices are using the same Apple id and password
I have reset documents and dta in the advanced account settings
