Cannot see .rdp files

Guys
I think microsoft pushed down an update recently that's affected this behavior. I have a RDP connection file c:\server2.rdp. In the past, if I click on start button and type in \ser and that's it, I would automatically see server2.rdp and just hit down arrow->enter
to connect to it. Now, it doesn't show anything. It does show the file if I do c:\ser but I don't know why should I need to specify c:\ since c:\ is the root drive
This behavior started only a week ago on my win7, win8 and windows 2008 servers - all at the same time! has to be an update
thx

  • Satellite A660 - cannot see saved files

    The problem is with a game that I have.
    I can see a file that I downloaded from the net to play, but those files from the game that I have saved do not show up when I look for them they don't show up. But when I view compatibility files they show, but that does me no good since I cannot send them on to other who will need to use them. The game in question is Civilization 3 Conquests, but I have a PC with it on and did not have this problem.
    So where can I find the setting to make them visible?

    >... cannot see saved files
    Is this general problem with your notebook or you have noticed this with game files only?
    I mean it is not easy to say anything about this specific issue.
    Im not gamer so I cannot comment some game files problem.
    Try to find some gaming forum where people discuss about Civilization 3 Conquests and ask if someone else has noticed the same problem.

  • When browsing documente library contents from client application, cannot see all files

    We are currently running SharePoint 2010 Enterprise in a small environment. On one of my sites, I have a document library with various documents uploaded (docx, xlsx, pdf). I am unable to see all the documents when browsing the library from Word/Excel/Adobe
    Acrobat. For example:
    - At the root level of the library, I have 5 folders
    - In Folder 1, I have 10 PDF files
    - If I go into Adobe Acrobat 11, for example, and paste the address of my site in, I can see the library and I can click on it and see the 5 folders.  If I click on Folder 1, there are no PDFs listed.  Even changing File Type to "All Files"
    still returns 0 results
    Things I have tested:
    If I view the library in the browser, I can see the 10 PDFs in Folder 1.  They are not checked out and they are visible to everyone
    If I click Library>Open w/ Explorer, I can see all 10 PDFs in Folder 1
    If I try using other client applications (Word, Excel, etc..), I cannot see any files in Folder 1, even when I change the File Type to "All Files"
    If I click in some of the other Folders in the same library from within a client application, sometimes I can see the files but most times I cannot
    What could be causing this?  I do not see any errors in any of the event logs.

    Hi Sephiroth,
    I think my observation is when you browse from word/Excel/Adobe it is taking your local system credentials and so  not showing files when you access.
    local system account means the account which you used to login to the system.
    For example,you logged into the system as contosomo\xyz and you are trying to connect to the site using Contosomo\setup account,what my point is though you logged in to the site using the setup account site is taking your xyz account credentials and so it
    not showing any files as xyz obviously will not have access.
    To confirm this, you can try by giving atleast read access to the local system account (in this case xyz) to the library and then test again whether you are able to see the files or not.
    Please remember to mark your question as answered &Vote helpful,if this solves/helps your problem.

  • Read other posts - still cannot see .htaccess files in DW CS4

    Hi - I don't know if it's me or what, but I've read other posts and still cannot figure out why I cannot see .htaccess files through DW CS4.  It says to go to VIEW but I do not have or see this option.
    Here are some screenshots:
    and of course the folder where you cannot see the .htaccess file

    Mac OS 10.4 and earlier (and *nix systems in general) treat file names with a period in front as telling the file system that that particular file is supposed to be hidden. And thus it won't show up under the normal file system views. But the file is still there. To see it, open up Terminal and type:
    defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
    Relaunch Finder and now you should be able to see every invisble file on your machine. To return to default, go back to Terminal and type:
    defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO
    and relaunch Finder and everything should be back to normal.
    Or you can use one of the many utility apps out there that allow you to make these kinds of changes. (Cocktail comes to mind - http://www.maintain.se/cocktail).
    Of course you can also build a workflow such as yours as well...  :-)

    I recently purchased a movie on i tunes which is not showing in my purchased file. I downloaded it on my ipad but cannot see the file on I tunes. Ipad lost so trying to retrieve a movie file. Any ideas please?

    The movie will only be where you put it.
    However,in some countries you can redownload some movies:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Cannot see the files I have uploaded into icloud

    I I have a problem that I cannot see my files that I have uploaded into icloud. They do not show up when I sign into icloud. All I see is the normal apps that are normally there like "mail, pages, general, ect..." and not the files that I have uploaded into icloud. The icloud app on my ipad shows that they have been added to icloud but they seem invisable. I must be able to locate them so that I can resuse these file for my online class. The class only allows the file files to be used on an ipad or iphone. I have asked the people at Apple but haven't got a solution. I pray someone can help me. How can I find or see them? Thank you.

    Once you download something it should be saved in your music library on iTunes.  You should not have to go into the iCloud in order to retrieve it again.  If it is the first time retrieving it sure there will be the cloud icon but after that there shouldn't be a problem unless something is set up incorrectly in your settings.

  • WebDAV problem - cannot see directories/files with space in filename

    Using latest OS x 10.4.6 and can access my company's Sharepoint server via WebDAV.
    However I only see folders/files that have no space in the filename - this is a major showstopper as I obviously cannot impose on rest of company how to name files.
    PS: I can access this Sharepoint site via a webbrowser but I cannot easily upload/download files in the browser interface. Actually upload does not work in Safari (endless timeout) but it does work in firefox
    PPS: Tried DAVExplorer and it could not even access the sharepoint site.
    Help appreciated.,

    Thanks Tim.
    I am connecting to an external WebDav server - Sharepoint 2001/2003. As per above SP 2003 and OSX as client create all the troubles listed above..
    Note: I compared console.log from my Sp2001 connections and SP2003 connections. Connecting to SP3 and gtrying to access a WebDav folder with directoriers/files containing spaces I see all kind of errors in console.log - see below.

  • Cannot see zipped files in Windows Explorer

    I used the code below to create a zip file. When I use Winzip to open a zip file named test.zip, I can see all the files (a.txt, b.class, etc.) that have been zipped. But, when I double-click on the test.zip in Windows Explorer (Windows XP Professional), I cannot see any of the zipped files.
    Can someone give me some pointers?
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.zip.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class CreateZip
         public CreateZip()
         public void createZipFile(String[] all_array, String zipfilename)
              FileOutputStream pout; // declare a file output object
    PrintStream p;
              String file_path = "D:\\Docs\\FedPlanner\\";

                        System.out.println("all_array = " + all_array);
                        p.println (all_array[i]);
    p.close();
    catch (Exception e)
    System.err.println ("Error writing to file");
              byte[] buf = new byte[1024];
              try
                   String outFilename = file_path + zipfilename;
              ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(outFilename));
                   for (int i=0; i< all_array.length; i++) //
                   FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(file_path + all_array[i]);//filenames
                   out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(file_path +all_array[i]));//filenames
                   int len;
                   while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0)
                   out.write(buf, 0, len);
                   out.closeEntry();
                   in.close();
              out.close();

              for(int i=0; i < all_array.length; i++)
                   System.out.println("x = " + all_array[i]);
              CreateZip create = new CreateZip();
              create.createZipFile(all_array);

    I have never created a zip file using Java . But from what i know about Winzip and Window Explorer, here's my takes on it:
    1. Winzip works with severals different compression algorithm 9including their own)
    2. Winzip has the ability to display the content of the zip file (if the zip file happens to be one of the compression algorithm they supported....otherwise, it's highly unlikely, winzip can even open the file)
    3. Window Explorer does not call Winzip to display the content of Winzip file. rather, Window Explorer has its own utility to look into the Winzip for files and display them. Note: they probably only do this for the popular compression algorith (such as Winzip .zip, probably .tar...but highly doubtful of the one that Java use to make a zip file).
    So..it's probably Window Explorer does not supports display that compression algorithm (the one Java use) for a Winzip file.
    Example...you created a new format for an image call .mypics
    Window Explorer can display a thumb nail for .bmp, .jpeg, and quite a few other
    You created an application to display the image. Now..in Window Explorer, when you click on the icon, the thumbnail of the pic is not display...this is because Window Explorer does not have a util to do thumbnail for that format.

  • Cannot see RAW files after re-loading CS3.

    My computer crashed so I re-loaded cs3 from the disks, but now it says that it won't update as Adobe is no longer supporting it.  I cannot see my RAW files from my Canon d30 and d40.  In the past when I had this problem, I just downloaded something and it fixed it, but that doesn't seem to be working this time.  Are those update files available and usable anywhere or am I trying the wrong ones?

    You mean the EOS 30D and EOS 40D?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    The EOS 30D requires Adobe Camera Raw 3.4
    The EOS 40D requires Adobe Camera Raw 4.2
    Photoshop CS3 shipped with ACR 4.0. So your 30D Raw files are readable now but you need an update for the 40D.

    So update to ACR 4.6 and you should be set

  • Cannot see OS9 file

    Hello,
    I use MacProjectPro. And as soon as it is made for OSX I am in line to buy it!
    When I save a file from it I cannot see any subfolders below a fifth level.
    I look for it where it says I saved it and I can't see it!
    I have been able to search for it and find it in the finder but when I do the file appears to be the only file in the subfolder. Odd isn't it? I repaired permissions but I still get the same result. I have to copy it to the desktop and then put it in the folder where I want to find it in order to see it.
    Does anyone know what is happening?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Classic OS9

    I have lead you astray. Off the software topic and on to the problem.
    It appears that classic is not able to see OSX and is not operating as it has for the past three years.
    I cannot open a file that was created in classic the way I have (i.e. by opening the application and then trying to open the file. The file is not visible. Conversely when I save a file from Classic I cannot find it from the OSX finder.
    Up until yesterday this all worked seamlessly. The only thing that happened that I can identify is that the application crashed during use. But now none of the Classic applications work properly. Today I checked again and am experiencing the same problem.
    On an aside. There is no software made for OSX that does network diagramming as MacProject did. In fact there is no software made today that does it properly. I will need to hire a software company who will do it. Alas. No one can solve my problem on that topic. I just bemoan it daily. (Although I have asked Steve Jobs to consider the issue.)
    Let's not talk about software though. I would like my OS9 to work. I depend on it heavily.

  • Mediasource cannot see my files on a network dr

    I have a SAN network dri've that I access wirelessly over my home network. I have set my My Dcuments to point to this dri've and have setup sychronising for offline use. My Music collection is also stored on My documents. The problem is that MediaSource cannot see any of my music. I have setup this folder as my PC Music Library and have setup sniffing on this folder. I am using MediaSource V5. Any ideas/suggestions pleaese?

    I assume that the Capsule backed up only what was on my computer, not my wife's computer. She will have to back up her computer separately, correct?
    Correct.
    where do I go to see what is backed up so I can be sure it worked?
    It is going to take Time Machine some time to index the new backup, so wait a day or so for this to occur.
    Then, click on the Time Machine "clock" icon down on the dock at the bottom of the screen. A lot of data has to load, so if you are using a wireless connection, leave things alone for 5-10 minutes or so.
    Once you have history of backups, you can use the time line on the right of the screen to select a data of a past backup to view how your Mac looked on that date. If you need to restore a file, navigate to the location, click to highlight the file, and then click Restore below the window

  • Since upgrade to Windows 8, cannot save .rdp files under the Remote Desktop Connection application on the Desktop

    Since I upgraded to Windows 8, I am no longer able to save individual Remote Desktop Connection files as .rdp files. I am talking about the traditional Remote Desktop Connection application on the Desktop that was in previous Windows versions, not the
    Remote Desktop App from the Windows 8 store.
    When I try to click on the Save button I get "An error occurred while saving to file"
    When I try to click on the Save As button I get "Unable to open connection file" with the file address being where I tried to save it with the file name at the end.
    Also when I upgraded to Windows 8, my .rdp files disappeared from my Documents folder.
     I need to create different .rdp files for different programs that my employees get into on my server. Now I have to hand type all the info each time into the Programs tap on the Remote Desktop Connection window, because I can't save to an
    .rdp file.
     I like the Remote Desktop App from the Windows store but it won't let me designate specific programs to use using standard dos notation (ie c:\program files\ etc..). It just goes to my server desktop.
     I want to promote Windows 8 to my employees but I need either .rdp files for the traditional Remote Desktop Connection or the ability to open specific programs using dos notation in the Windows Store Remote Desktop App.

  • Help!! I have used an external hard drive on my Macbook Pro to save photos and edit.  Now I have purchased a desktop Apple machine, and new copy of lightroom, however, I cannot see the files on the desktop using the external hard drive.

    Hi, I am wondering if someone knows if I can open/(how I see) the files I have saved in Lightroom on my Mac laptop, on my new desktop?

    You want to transfer the catalog file to the new desktop using your operating system, and open that by double-clicking on it. Then reconnect the photos to Lightroom (if necessary) by these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • Cannot see tif file with just 552KB

    Hi,
    I've received a TIF file from a scanned document but I cannot open it in my MacBook. The Preview sw says that it may be corrupted. However the same file file can be opened in a Windows based computer!?
    What's wrong? What can I do to see it in my MacBook?
    Thanks,
    Fabio
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1GB

    Hi Fabio -
    First, don't let the "may be corrupted" message throw you - it usually just means the program you're using thinks it should be able to open the file, but can't, and it's unwilling to accept responsibility for the failure
    552K is extremely small for a TIFF - are you sure the copy you're trying to open in Preview isn't compressed in some way? If so it will need to be expanded before Preview can open it.
    Second - What Windows program is it that is able to open the file? Even if the file isn't compressed, not all TIFF files are 'equal' - IOW if it is a 32Bit or 24 Bit CMYK TIFF Preview may not be able to handle it (I don't know Preview's limits but for a 'freebie utility' they may be fairly low), but a program like PhotoShop could open it with no trouble. Have you tried opening it with Mac-something other than Preview?
    Can you shed any more light on how the file was created & transported to the Mac?
    Regards,
    Bob J.
